This thesis introduces a search for charge-parity violation in the tau Yukawa coupling with the polarimetric vector method. The presented work focuses on the optimization of the sensitivity of the last measurement performed by the CMS Collaboration with Run 2 data, to prepare the analysis of the Run 3 data. To do so, the limitations of the deployment of the polarimetric vector method are evaluated in fully hadronic and semi-leptonic decay modes containing a muon, with the main objective to replace the initial methods exploiting the tau visible decays only. Results from this study then motivated the possibility to perform a full analysis of Run 2data in the a13pr+ÎŒ final state with the tau leptons pair kinematic fit algorithm GEF. An improvement of the expected sensitivity of 15% is obtained with the polarimetric vector method in comparison to previous results. Work related to the study of tau spin observables in embedded samples has also been performed. Finally, the performance of the tau decay mode identification with the HPS algorithm has been evaluated in presence of the new photon and electron identification methods implemented within the CMS particle flow algorithm.

    Molecular flow simulations for SMOG2

Planned to be operational during LHC Run-3, the core of the SMOG2 project is based on a new part called the storage cell. This new system should allow to multiply by a factor 8 to 35, according to the gas specie, the areal densities previously reached with SMOG by injecting the same ïŹ‚ow rate, and to inject new species such as deuterium. MolïŹ‚ow+ will beusedtosimulatethestoragecellandLHCb’s VELORFboxtoapproximatetheimpactofthe outcoming getterable gas on the NEG-coated surface of the RF box. As part of the project, it will also be shown that gas areal density loss through leaks due to the non-perfect closing of the storage cell are negligible

Search for CP violation in the tau Yukawa coupling with CMS

The proceedings present a measurement of the charge-parity (CP) properties of the Higgs boson in its coupling to tau leptons. To date, all measurements of its interactions with fermions and bosons are consistent with the standard model prediction of a purely scalar neutral Higgs boson nature and exclude the purely pseudo-scalar scenario. However an admixture of both CP-even and CP-odd states is still possible. In the presented analysis, the pure pseudo-scalar hypothesis is excluded at 3.0σ\sigma in its coupling to the tau lepton with a measured CP mixing angle value αHττ=−1±19∘\alpha^{H\tau\tau}=-1\pm19^\circ at 68.3\% CL. Some prospects in future LHC operations are also presented
