Low-Inductive Extended Z-Discharge As a Manyrange Source of Radiations

    Get PDF
The present paper summarizes the results of studying of nanosecond low-inductive extended discharge as source of electromagnetic radiations and analyzes the works of other research groups that can throw upon additional light and hereunder promote to best understanding of physics of the phenomena and processes observed in authors researches. The analysis is of main interest towards development of compact electrodischarge sources of coherent and low-coherent radiation including X-ray range

Regulatory Justification of the Fundamental Concepts of Ergonomics in Wheeled Agricultural Machinery

    Get PDF
A single-seated man-machine system (MMS) is formed when a person starts controlling a technical device or unit, while undergoing production processes. Production tasks for MMS are developed by the senior system and contain output work parameters, which are determined by the properties of the human operator and the technical subsystem. The purpose of the paper is to demonstrate the process of ensuring the working conditions of a single-seated MMS, the difficulties that arise upon performing tasks, including the content of regulatory acts, which are the technical foundation for the formation of the quality of operation of a single-seated MMS. Study results indicate external and internal restrictions that influence the efficient work of the human operator and are not provided for in regulatory standards, including ways to solve existing restrictions

Selection of Single Top Events with the CMS Detector at LHC

    Get PDF
The detection of single-top events with CMS is discussed. Two selections are proposed, aimed to measure single top production in the Standard Model t- and s-channel, respectively. The perspectives of the measurements for an integrated luminosity of 10 fb-1 are described. The results are based on detailed detector simulations, either based on GEANT4, or on faster techniques. The reconstruction procedures developed by the CMS Collaboration are utilized

Active integrated antennas and arrays with field-effect transistors

Electromagnetic wave generation processes in the hybrid log-periodic microstripe antenna on the dielectric substrate integrated with field-effect transistor are experimentally studied in the frequency range of 6─20 GHz. The possibility of synchronization and power combining in the array consisting of antenna-coupled oscillators placed on the common dielectric substrate is investigated. It is shown that the considerable increasing the generation efficiency and power combining can be obtained by using the external synchronization signal or quasi-optical design of the array

Geometric frustration in polygons of polariton condensates creating vortices of varying topological charge.

Vorticity is a key ingredient to a broad variety of fluid phenomena, and its quantised version is considered to be the hallmark of superfluidity. Circulating flows that correspond to vortices of a large topological charge, termed giant vortices, are notoriously difficult to realise and even when externally imprinted, they are unstable, breaking into many vortices of a single charge. In spite of many theoretical proposals on the formation and stabilisation of giant vortices in ultra-cold atomic Bose-Einstein condensates and other superfluid systems, their experimental realisation remains elusive. Polariton condensates stand out from other superfluid systems due to their particularly strong interparticle interactions combined with their non-equilibrium nature, and as such provide an alternative testbed for the study of vortices. Here, we non-resonantly excite an odd number of polariton condensates at the vertices of a regular polygon and we observe the formation of a stable discrete vortex state with a large topological charge as a consequence of antibonding frustration between nearest neighbouring condensates

Immunohistochemical and morphological characteristics of tissues response to polylactic acid membranes with silver nanoparticles

The aim of this research was to study anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory characteristics of silver nanoparticles helping bone structures to recover during late stage of parodontitis, which afterwards will increase the effect of bone regeneration operations. We assessed colloid solution-derived silver nanoparticles coating of polylactic acid membrane regarding tissue foreign body response. Thirty eight polylactic acid membranes were implanted intracranially in rabbits ? ten unmodified (control group) and twenty eight with silver nanoparticles coating (experimental group). In controls, penicillin was used for infection prophylaxis. Tissue response was assessed by light microscopy and immunohistochemistry (CD3, CD15, CD30) 2 weeks after implantation. inflammation markers in experimental group were significantly lower than in control group, there were no signs of forming a fibrosis capsule nor infectious signs. colloid silver solution can be used as a source of nanoparticles for anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory biodegradable membranes? coating
