Mg(2)Si(x)Sn(1-x)heterostructures on Si(111) substrate for optoelectronics and thermoelectronics
Thin (50-90 m) non-doped and doped (by Al atoms) Mg2Sn0.6Si0.4 and Mg(2)Sn(0.4)Si(0.6)films with roughness of 1.9-3.7 nm have been grown by multiple deposition and single annealing at 150 degrees C of multilayers formed by repetition deposition of three-layers (Si-Sn-Mg) on Si(111) p-type wafers with 45 cm resistivity. Transmission electron microscopy has shown that the first forming layer is an epitaxial layer of hex-Mg2Sn(300) on Si(111) substrate with thickness not more than 5-7 nm. Epitaxial relationships: hex-Mg2Sn(300)parallel to Si(111), hex-Mg2Sn[001]parallel to Si[-112] and hex-Mg2Sn[030]parallel to Si[110] have been found for the epitaxial layer. But inclusions of cub-Mg2Si were also observed inside hex-Mg2Sn layer. It was found that the remaining part of the film thickness is in amorphous state and has a layered distribution of major elements: Mg, Sn and Mg without exact chemical composition. It was established by optical spectroscopy data that both type films are semiconductor with undispersed region lower 0.18 eV with n(o) = 3.59 +/- 0.01, but only two direct interband transitions with energies 0.75-0.76 eV and 1.2 eV have been determined. The last interband transition has been confirmed by photoreflectance data at room temperature. Fourier transmittance spectroscopy and Raman spectroscopy data have established the formation of stannide, silicide and ternary compositions
Synthesis of 4-(1,3,5-Thiadiazinan-2-ylidene)-2-(3,4- dihydro-2H-1,3,5-thiadiazin-6-yl)pent-2-enedinitriles
The reaction of cyanothioacetamide with diethyl ethoxymethylenemalonate in the presence of triethylamine in hot EtOH proceeds non-selectively and leads to the formation of a mixture of triethylammonium 1,5-diamino-2,4-dicyano-5-thioxopenta-1,3-diene-1-thiolate (minor) and triethylammonium 3-cyano-5-ethoxycarbonyl-6-oxo-1Đť-pyridine-2-thiolate (major). Upon treatment with primary amines and 37% aqueous HCHO in boiling aqueous ethanol, the reaction product affords only 4-(1,3,5-thiadiazinan-2-ylidene)-2-(3,4-dihydro-2H-1,3,5-thiadiazin- 6-yl)pent-2-enedinitrile derivatives, instead of the expected pyrido[2,1-b][1,3,5]thiadiazines. Triethylammonium 3-cyano-5-ethoxycarbonyl-6-oxo-1Đť-pyridine-2-thiolate does not react under these conditions. The structure of the resulted products was confirmed by means of NMR, IR spectroscopy, and LCMS. The mechanism of the formation of the products is discussed
Synthesis of New Hyperbranched Phosphorus-Containing Polyesters Starting from Boltorn H20
Upon gentle treatment with SOCl2, hyperbranched polyester Boltorn H20 afforded a mixture of terminal polychlorides. The latter react with an excess of triphenylphosphine in boiling toluene or with pyridine to give a mixture of polyesters with terminal triphenylphosphonium and pyridinium fragments, respectively
Psycho-immune Partnership in the Dynamic Responses of Living Systems
Present paper outlines certain possibilities for a new approach to the generalized modeling of the dynamics of living organism reaction to the changes in its environment. It is shown that there exists common functional “alignment” of the immune and psychic responses in the living organism reaction to the changes in the environment. This is manifested in the experimentally recorded matching of the response scenarios and activities in the immune and psychic domains. Thus, one may conclude that there exist two functionally matched systems (psychic and immune) tracking the external influences and responding to them. On the other hand it is feasible that one is actually dealing with a complex inseparable psycho-immune system and experimentally monitors different aspects of its activity describing these from two different points of view. Given analysis of available experimental data seems to support both of the above alternatives without giving undoubted preferences to any of them. However treating the situation form the formal logic point of view certain preferences can be given to the concept of an inseparable psycho-immune system modeled in two different ways. This approach can also resolve certain collisions happening with the attempts to describe direct interrelations between psychic and immune domains, and can lead the way to higher-level functionality models of the dynamic responses of the living organisms
A way to health through psycho-immunological wellbeing : Example of Indigenous People of Russian North
The research was carried out into the changes within psychic and immune domains ofthe Russian Nenets people migrating from the traditional northern habitat (tundra) to urbanenvironment. It is noted that in the process of significantly changing lifestyle supposedlysingle ethnic group can be clearly sub-divided according to the differences in adaptationdynamics. This division reflects sociological differences and is connected to the psychoimmunologicalaspects. Thus, with the adaptation of forest Nenets to the new conditions ofexistence (from the tundra to the urban centers), we found a division of a whole ethnic groupinto two groups according to a social attribute, which is fixed at the psychophysiologicallevel. First, psychic and immune domains are not only sharing a number of commonfeatures but also can have deep evolutionary connections and can be governed by similarlaws. Second, the psyche and the immune system show the most important functions andproperties that ensure an effective existence, generalizing the values of adaptation, protectionand vitality into a single structure. Such a concept is closed to “wholeness” and “integrity” showing that the distribution of vital forces or body resources can adjust the condition orcope with the pre-illness or even disease

Functional Conjugation of the Different Regulatory Responses to the Stress Stimuli in Healthy Human Subjects
Present article discusses the physiological mechanisms of the state employees adaptation duringactive training in temporary groups. It is suggested that adaptive mechanisms to adverse effectsmay be studied basing on the concept of functional isomorphism of the psychic and immune systems.Adaptive mechanisms were studied through the monitoring of the stress factors’ impact upon thelaw enforcement officers when training outside the places of permanent deployment. The specificpurpose of present study was to evaluate the physiological indicators of the psychic, immune andendocrine systems dynamics at different stages of adaptation of the live organism to a stressfulsituation, hoping to get better insight into possible relations between psychic and immune domains.Through monitoring of the dynamics of the endocrine and immune responses to the psychic stimuli,it was possible to correlate the stages of the stress onset to the phases of specific immune reactions.Strong correlations between the parameters characterizing activation of the psychic and immuneresponses support the hypothesis of the presence of “strong cooperation” between psychic andimmune domains. It supports earlier hypothesis that we are monitorin
Enchainment of the Coefficient of Structural Quality of Elements in Compression and Bending by Combined Reinforcement of Concrete with Polymer Composite Bars and Dispersed Fiber
Polymer composite reinforcement (PCR) and its use to produce high-quality concrete with the right design and technological and formulation solutions can demonstrate the results obtained with the steel rebars. This article discusses the synergistic effect from the combined reinforcement of concrete with traditional polymer rods and dispersed fiber, which, as a result, lead to an increase in strength and deformation characteristics and an improvement in the performance of compressed and bent structural elements. The synergistic effect of the joint work of polymer rods and dispersed reinforcement is considered in the context of relative indicators (structural quality factor CSQ), showing the relationship between strength characteristics and concrete density. The behavior of glass fiber in a cement matrix and the nature of its deformation during fracture were studied by scanning electron microscopy. It is shown that the use of PCR and dispersed reinforcement makes it possible to increase the strength characteristics of concrete in bending. In quantitative terms, the achieved results demonstrated that the CSQ values of a beam reinforced with a PCR frame with the addition of glass fiber were 3.4 times higher compared to the CSQ of a beam reinforced with steel reinforcement frames. In addition, for a beam reinforced with a PCR frame with no fiber addition, the CSQ values were three times higher
