Working woman. Analysis of the Polish media discourse around the professional work of women on the example of Wysokie Obcasy and Twój Styl

Przedmiotem niniejszej pracy jest krytyczna analiza współczesnego polskiego dyskursu medialnego wokół pracy zawodowej kobiet reprezentowanego przez prasę kobiecą. Nacisk położony został na określeniu roli pracy w życiu kobiet oraz przyjrzeniu się w jaki sposób w analizowanych artykułach opisywane są kwestie związane z nierównościami płciowymi na rynku pracy. Podjęta została również próba rekonstrukcji obrazu współczesnej kobiety sukcesu i zbadania funkcji pracy zawodowej w procesie jego kreacji.The subject of this thesis is the critical analysis of contemporary Polish media discourse around the professional work of women represented in women's magazines. The emphasis was placed on defining the role of work in women's lives and looking at how the analyzed articles describe issues related to gender inequalities in the labor market. An attempt was also made to reconstruct the image of a modern successful woman with an emphasis on examining the function of professional work in the process of its creation

Ukraine in search for a new national consciousness : a historian’s view

The difficulty in finding the patrons of Ukrainian independence complicated the lives of the national movement ideologists considerably. It made itself particularly felt in the relations of Ukraine with Poland and Russia. While, during World War II, both partners of Kiev gained a good number of new heroes and their political views are now accepted without emotion, the past of the leaders of the Ukrainian nationalist groups, often connected with the cooperation with Nazi Germany and the bloody actions against the Polish civilian population, is far from the one which would be desirable by the Ukrainian party. It should also be noted that opinions vary on the matter in Ukraine itself. It turned out that the promotion of a new form of society can easily be distorted by various provocations orchestrated by both the left and right side of the political spectrum. However, the question that needs to be asked is whether the realization of such political goals did not come at too high a price, especially since this price was mainly paid (as was to be expected) by members of other nationalities. But this issue should become the subject of separate considerations, with the main focus placed on the moral rather than the social engineering aspects of the problem

The Kardashian Family Media Empire

Praca skupia się na analizie medialnego imperium rodziny Kardashianów. Pierwszy rozdział dotyczy aspektów formalnych i zawiera opis działalności celebrytów ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem jej transmedialnego charakteru. Drugi rozdział stanowi próbę opisania obrazu kobiecości, który wyłania się z działalności rodziny. Rozdział trzeci został poświęcony kwestii społecznego odbioru i krytyki wymierzonej w Kardashianów.The primary concern of this paper is to analyze the media empire of the Kardashian family. The first chapter deals with the formal aspects and contains a description of the family's endeavours with special consideration directed towards their relation to transmedia storytelling. In the second chapter I strived to describe the image of femininity presented by the family. The third chapter is dedicated to the issue of public perception and criticism directed at the Kardashians

Self-defense as a factor excluding liability

Praca ma na celu przedstawienie instytucji obrony koniecznej, jako okoliczności wyłączającej bezprawność. W pracy przedstawiono kontratyp na tle struktury przestępstwa, wykazując jego powiązanie z bezprawnością, jak i na tle funkcji, które jego wprowadzenie do systemu prawa miało spełniać. Porównano również kodyfikacje obrony koniecznej począwszy od kodeksu karnego z roku 1932 do aktualnie obowiązującej ustawy karnej, z uwzględnieniem nowelizacji przepisu dokonanej ustawą z 2017 roku. Wskazano znamiona obrony koniecznej oraz konsekwencje prawne ich przekroczenia. Praca przedstawia również analizę sposobu przedstawienia proporcji dóbr prawnych dotyczącej obrony koniecznej i stanu wyższej konieczności. W pracy skupiono się również na analizie innych okoliczności wyłączających bezprawność na tle obrony koniecznej, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem różnic pomiędzy poszczególnymi instytucjami.The subject of this study is self-defense as a foctor of excluding liabiblity. Therefore, there was indicated how institution of self-defense presents itself among structure of the crime. It was also said how it can influence on grounds functions of criminal law. Comparison of codification among Penal Code from year 1932 up to the newest Penal Code, including latest amendment from year 2017, was made to present how self-defense was changing throughout the years. This paper presents also comparitions of proportions importance of right that can be sacrifice in order to protect other goods. There was also made a comparison among other law institution that allows one to avoid liability
