Fuzzy Logic Controller Development for Prediction of Student Performance Based on Activity Parameters
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, most of the academic education has suddenly shifted from traditional teaching methods to advanced technological methods on the Internet. Many teachers encountered difficulties in successfully evaluating and monitoring their students. We address these challenges and propose a fuzzy logic based controller that can assists teachers during classes and support allocation of appropriate resources to students. The purpose of the controller is to provide early warning about students who have performed poorly in the initial part of the course assessment. The controller makes predictions based on 5 input parameters which, by applying statistical tools, have been proven to accurately reflect the students achievements. The model was tested on a group of 50 students and the results indicate 82% prediction accuracy. There is a possibility for additional improvements related to the built-in parameters, both in terms of their selection and in terms of their numbe
Novel approach for finding shortest route using Dijkstra's Algorithm and Fuzzy Logic in a Wireless Sensor Network integrated into a Forest fire detection system
This paper proposes a Fuzzy Logic Controller/ Dijkstra’s Algorithm based software that calculates the most reliable communication
link between a WaspmotePlug&Sense Sensor Node and a Meshlium Router in a Wireless Sensor Network (WSN). The algorithm
implements the effect of three parameters important for the functioning of the WSN: Waspmote involvement, the received signal
strength indicator (RSSI) and the distance of the Waspmotes, for achieving optimal work capability of the system. Due to the
inherent weaknesses of the conventionally used Star and Tree topologies which provide a single route with no alternatives on the
forwarding of data, the lack of a software or algorithm that would select the optimal route and the fact that signal quality does not
necessarily indicate optimal route employment, we propose an application of a Mesh topology along with a Fuzzy Logic Controller/
Dijkstra’s Algorithm based software. Mesh topology allows each controller to be individually connected to at least two Meshlium
routers, thus providing an alternative transmission solution in case of damage to certain links between the nodes and selection of a
more efficient link for transmission of information. The Fuzzy Logic Controller/ Dijkstra’s Algorithm setup reduces energy
consumption of the WSN fire detection system by calculating and determining which routers should start up, instead of all of them

NOTIONES - iNteracting netwOrk of inTelligence and securIty practitiOners with iNdustry and acadEmia actorS
With cyberattacks becoming more and more dangerous in the current, connected digital landscape, it is necessary to develop methods and technologies to tackle them. The EU funded NOTIONES project will address the danger by building a network of practitioners from security and intelligence services. It will bring together 30 partners, practitioners from military, civil, financial, judiciary, local, national and international security and intelligence services from 9 EU Member States and 6 Associated Countries. Together they will monitor the results of academic research and industrial innovation and suggest actions. NOTIONES will organise and participate in workshops and conferences to present its findings to the broad intelligence community
ON SOME MODELS OF DIFFERENTIAL GAMES
This article presents a brief review of differential game models, their characteristics and solutions, including evolutionary games. At the end, some upgrades of the classical models are discussed
On integrability of a class of linear differential equations of third order
In this article we observe a class of linear differential
equation of third order, which is obtained from a class of second
order differential equation. Using some previous results, conditions
for the existence of two of its particular solutions are obtained
A concept for a smart web portal development in intelligence information system based on SOA
This paper presents a concept for Service Oriented
Architecture (SOA) approach in a prototype of an Intelligence
Information System (IIS). IIS prototype, based on SOA, could
offer better coordination among institutions involved in
intelligence thus providing increase of intelligence
effectiveness. This approach can serve as a foundation for
the establishment of the Integrated Intelligence System,
which is based on services as software components.
Here, our main interest is the upgrading of the Intelligence
Information System with a Smart Web Portal, composed of
three modules combined together to automate the
Intelligence Cycle. The purpose of this feature is to serve as a
platform for integrating Intelligence’s information collected
by different sources and ensure information delivery to the
right end-user
Game-Theoretic Models for Assessing Security of a SOA Based Intelligence Information System
Modern information technology offers significant
support to the Intelligence Cycles (planning, collecting, analyzing
of data and their dissemination), by promoting the appropriate
and flexible use of information, its searchability and exploitation.
Although Intelligence Information Systems can significantly
improve current and generate new intelligence working
protocols, they are confronted with a serious challenge – the
security of the system and the circulated information.
Optimization techniques in the context of game and control
theory are some of the tools that offer mathematical support for
the formalization of the decision-making processes related to
networked systems security. Game theory has been recently
recognized as a way around the problem of lacking a quantitive
decision framework for the security issues, as well as a model that
can address more efficiently the problem of computational
complexity in simulations
Virtual Environment For Military Training Based On Computer Gamming Technology
Information Age brings technologies that provide unparalleled opportunities for military and security force, including Army of the Republic of Macedonia, to develop and adopt new operational concepts for training and experimentation that may radically enhance their competitive edge. The military is undergoing a major cultural shift in its approach to simulation, and this processes need to be sufficiently flexible in adapting quickly to remain current with the rapid changes in information-related technologies as well as organizational adaptations associated with these advances.
Serious games show to have positive impact on training results. Advantages of simulation games lay in the provision of a safe training environment, where users are able to play, test and probe without serious consequences. At the same time, it is important to engage learners by providing a motivating, challenging environment, which becomes meaningful to the player when skills and knowledge acquired within the game are transferrable to real work tasks.
The purpose of this paper is to give a brief info about computer gaming and serious games, and in line with that to describe a new approach for building a firearms simulator based on a serious game and motion sensor technology. Also, we are giving initial assessment of suitability of this kind virtual environment for military training. These initiatives represent the first steps in our commitment to explore and harness computer games in engaging our next generation of soldiers in the development of war-fighting concepts of the future
