Infinite dimensional holomorphic non-extendability and algebraic genericity

    Get PDF
In this note, the linear structure of the family He(G) of holomorphic functions in a domain G of a complex Banach space that are not holomorphically continuable beyond the boundary of G is analyzed. More particularly, we prove that He(G) contains, except for zero, a closed (and a dense) vector space having maximal dimension, as well as a maximally generated free algebra. The results obtained complete a number of previous ones by several authors.Plan Andaluz de Investigación (Junta de Andalucía)Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad (MINECO). Españ

Multiplicative structures of hypercyclic functions for convolution operators

In this note, it is proved the existence of an infinitely generated multiplicative group consisting of entire functions that are, except for the constant function 1, hypercyclic with respect to the convolution operator associated to a given entire function of subexponential type. A certain stability under multiplication is also shown for compositional hypercyclicity on complex domains.Comment: 12 page

Non-Lipschitz differentiable functions on slit domains

It is proved the existence of large algebraic structures –including large vector subspaces or infinitely generated free algebras– inside the family of non-Lipschitz differentiable real functions with bounded gradient defined on special non-convex plane domains. In particular, this yields that there are many differentiable functions on plane domains that do not satisfy the Mean Value Theorem.Plan Andaluz de Investigación (Junta de Andalucía)Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad (MINECO). Boundary-nonregular functions in the disc algebra and in holomorphic Lipschitz spaces

    Get PDF
We prove in this paper the existence of dense linear subspaces in the classical holomorphic Lipschitz spaces in the disc all of whose non-null functions are nowhere differentiable at the boundary. Infinitely generated free algebras as well as infinite dimensional Banach spaces consisting of Lipschitz functions enjoying the mentioned property almost everywhere on the boundary are also exhibited. It is also investigated the algebraic size of the family of functions in the disc algebra that either do not preserve Borel sets on the unit circle or possess the Cantor boundary behavior on the disc.Plan Andaluz de Investigación (Junta de Andalucía)Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad (MINECO). Nowhere hölderian functions and Pringsheim singular functions in the disc algebra

    Get PDF
We prove the existence of dense linear subspaces, of infinitely generated subalgebras and of infinite dimensional Banach spaces in the disc algebra all of whose nonzero members are not α-h¨olderian at any point of the unit circle for any α > 0. This completes the recently established result of topological genericity of this kind of functions, as well as the corresponding lineability statements about functions that are nowhere differentiable at the boundary. Topological and algebraic genericity is also studied for the family of boundary-smooth holomorphic functions that are Pringsheim singular at any point of the unit circle.Plan Andaluz de Investigación (Junta de Andalucía)Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad (MINECO).
