A Java implementation of Coordination Rules as ECA Rules
This paper gives an insight in to the design and implementation of the coordination rules as ECA rules. The language specifications of the ECA rules were designed and the corresponding implementation of the same using JAVA as been partially done. The paper also hints about the future work in this area which deals with embedding this code in JXTA, thus enabling to form a P2P layer with JXTA as the back bone
Liouville Numbers and Schanuel's Conjecture
In this paper, using an argument of P. Erdos, K. Alniacik and E. Saias, we
extend earlier results on Liouville numbers, due to P. Erdos, G.J. Rieger, W.
Schwarz, K. Alniacik, E. Saias, E.B. Burger. We also produce new results of
algebraic independence related with Liouville numbers and Schanuel's
Conjecture, in the framework of G delta-subsets.Comment: Archiv der Math., to appea
Liouville numbers, Liouville sets and Liouville fields
Following earlier work by E.Maillet 100 years ago, we introduce the
definition of a Liouville set, which extends the definition of a Liouville
number. We also define a Liouville field, which is a field generated by a
Liouville set. Any Liouville number belongs to a Liouville set S having the
power of continuum and such that the union of S with the rational number field
is a Liouville field.Comment: Proceedings of the American Mathematical Society, to appea
Quality of work life: Perception of college teachers
Several Research Studies in the world have measured the Quality of Work of Employee’s in Industries, Universities, Schools, Government and Non Government Organizations. This research study highlights the quality of work life of college teachers under various dimensions. New Challenges can be faced with employee’s commitment and involvement in achieving organizational goals. This study helps the college teachers to know the level of perception towards QWL and to enhance the same by the educational administrators.. Quality of Work Life is the essential concept of favorable situations in a working environment. The Quality of Work Life facilitates employee’s training opportunities, job satisfaction and working conditions. A better Quality of Work Life improves the growth of the employee’s along with the organization growth. The universe of the study includes 12 colleges located within the Tiruchirappalli city limit and 1279 college teachers were working during May 2008 – February 2009. A sample of 239 respondents was collected from the universe. The collected data after being coded were analyzed using Statistical Package for Social sciences Research (SPSS) and various statistical tests were applied based on hypotheses and matching variables. There is a significant association between quality of work life total and quality of life in teaching environment total. It shows QWL of college teachers is in low level.Quality of Work Life: College Teachers; Perception
Relative mass distributions of neutron-rich thermally fissile nuclei within statistical model
We study the fission yield of recently predicted thermally fissile
neutron-rich uranium and thorium nuclei using statistical model. The level
density parameters needed for the study are evaluated from the excitation
energies of temperature dependent relativistic mean field formalism. The
excitation energy and the level density parameter for a given temperature are
employed in the convolution integral method to obtain the probability of the
particular fragmentation. As representative case, we present the results for
the binary fission yield of 250 U and 254 Th. The relative yields are presented
for three different temperatures T = 1, 2 and 3 MeV.Comment: Comments are welcome. arXiv admin note: text overlap with

Nonintegrability of (2+1)-dimensional continuum isotropic Heisenberg spin system: Painlev\'e analysis
While many integrable spin systems are known to exist in (1+1) and (2+1)
dimensions, the integrability property of the physically important (2+1)
dimensional isotropic Heisenberg ferromagnetic spin system in the continuum
limit has not been investigated in the literature. In this paper, we show
through a careful singularity structure analysis of the underlying nonlinear
evolution equation that the system admits logarithmic type singular manifolds
and so is of non-Painlev\'e type and is expected to be nonintegrable.Comment: 11 pages. to be published in Phys. Lett. A (2006
Active Vibration Control of Structures using an Impedance Matching Control Technique
Active vibration control of structures has gained a lot of interest in recent years. This paper presents an active vibration control methodology of a structure using piezoelectric actuators. The proposed methodology is useful in practical applications where the system to be controlled is difficult to model due to the presence of complex boundary conditions. The impedance matching control technique uses a power flow approach wherein the controller is designed such that the power flow into the structure is minimized. The system transfer function is obtained from the experimental collocated actuator/sensor pair data using Eigen Realisation Algorithm (ERA). The controller is designed for the system transfer function according to impedance matching theory. The above approach is targeted towards the vibration control of wind tunnel stings, which suffer from flow-induced vibration. A wind tunnel sting model is designed and fabricated for this study. The real time implementation of the impedance matching controller has been carried out using dSPACE® Digital Signal Processor (DSP) card. The results are encouraging and demonstrate the feasibility of applying this technique in the wind tunne
Modification at Lattice Scale for an Optimized Optical Response of Alx(ZnO)1-x Nanostructures
We report the systematic changes of nano-scaled featur
es and optical properties in a promising transparent
oxide material, namely, Al
x
(x = 0, 1, 2 and 5%) doped ZnO
1-x
(AZO). Electron microscopy investigations
revealed the alterations at lattice scale depending on th
e presence of Al-content in ZnO nanostructures. Lat-
tice spacings of 0.26 and 0.28 nm oriented along the (0002) and (10
1
0) planes, respectively, were attributed
to euhedral-and facetted-structures of hexagonal-ZnO. Th
e AZO samples were furthe
r characterized by XRD,
SEM, UV-vis spectrophotometry, Raman spectroscopy and photoluminescence studies. It has been shown
that at a dopant concentration of 2%
Al in ZnO, an optimal balance could be achieved between microstruc-
ture and optical properties
Painlev{\'e} singularity structure analysis of three component Gross-Pitaevskii type equations
In this paper, we have studied the integrability nature of a system of three
coupled Gross-Pitaevskii type nonlinear evolution equations arising in the
context of spinor Bose-Einstein condensates by applying the Painlev\'e
singularity structure analysis. We show that only for two sets of parametric
choices, corresponding to the known integrable cases, the system passes the
Painlev\'e test.Comment: 17 pages. Accepted in Journal of Mathematical Physic
