W niniejszym artykule omówiono wady i zalety wykorzystywania wybranych źródeł wiedzy tłumacza (słowników, tekstów paralelnych oraz zasobów internetowych) w przekładzie, przedstawiono wyniki eksperymentu z zakresu dydaktyki przekładu specjalistycznego i płynące z niego implikacje praktyczne dla prowadzenia zajęć z przekładu specjalistycznego oraz kształcenia u adeptów zawodu tłumacza umiejętności efektywnego wykorzystywania dostępnych źródeł wiedzy podczas tłumaczenia tekstów prawniczych ‒ wyroków sądowych.This article discusses the advantages and disadvantages of the use of selected sources of the knowledge of translator (dictionaries, parallel texts and online resources) in translation, the results of the experiments in the scope of specialized translation teaching and the practical implications resulting for carrying out classes of specialist translations and educating translators of the ability to make effective use of the available sources of knowledge when trans-lating legal texts ‒ court judgments.In diesem Beitrag werden Vorteile und Nachteile bestimmter Hilfsmittel (Wörterbücher, Paralleltexte und Internetquellen) beim Übersetzen besprochen. Die Autorin des Beitrags stellt Ergebnisse eines Experiments dar, das die Fachübersetzungs-Didaktik betrifft. Ferner werden die sich aus diesem Experiment ergebenden praktischen Implikationen für Fachübersetzungsun-terricht diskutiert. Außerdem wird auch ihr Einsatz bei der Ausbildung von angehenden Übersetzern prӓsentiert, um ihnen zu zeigen, wie man die geg-ebenen Hilfsmittel beim Übersetzen von Rechtstexten (Gerichtsurteilen) effek-tiv einsetzen kann

Opracowanie dotyczy problematyki wdrażania strategii rozwoju. Część teoretyczną poświęcono przedstawieniu znaczenia strategii w kreowaniu rozwoju jednostek samorządu terytorialnego, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem specyfiki gmin. Planowanie strategiczne – proces, w wyniku którego powstaje strategia – jest pierwszą fazą zarządzania strategicznego. Druga to wdrażanie postanowień ujętych w dokumencie. Stąd też część teoretyczna charakteryzuje także proces zarządzania strategicznego, podkreślając jego znaczenie i rolę w rozwoju terytorium oraz wskazując potencjalne źródła obniżające stopień realizacji strategii. Część praktyczna skupia się na przedstawieniu i skomentowaniu wyników badań, przeprowadzonych w gminach województwa łódzkiego. The article examines the interaction between share prices and exchange rates on the Polish fiancial market. A two-dimensional model of vector autoregression was used and daily data on the stock exchange index and exchange rate index for the period from April 2000 to December 2017 were used. The empirical results indicated a one-way causality from exchange rates to share prices.W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badania interakcji między cenami akcji a kursami walut na polskim rynku fiansowym. Wykorzystano dwuwymiarowy model wektorowej autoregresji i zastosowano dzienne dane o indeksie giełdowym i indeksie kursów walut dla okresu od kwietnia 2000 r. do grudnia 2017 r. The Market Reaction to Stock Splits – Evidence from the Warsaw Stock Exchange

Theoretical background: A share split is an operation that increases the total number of shares. The split is a technical operation and should not affect the market value of the company. The shareholding structure of the company remains unchanged when the shares are split. However, split studies around the world show the occurrence of abnormal returns.Purpose of the article: The article analyses splits based on market data from 2009 to 2021. The aim of the study is to analyse the cumulative average abnormal returns (CAARs) in the periods preceding stock splits on the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE). CAARs are analysed in different research variants. The influence of the stock market situation and the frequency of splits on the amount of abnormal returns is examined.Research methods: The research was carried out using event study analysis. The Market-Adjusted Return Model was used to determine abnormal returns. CAARs were calculated for each analysed event window. The statistical significance of abnormal returns was verified by the parametric t test and the non-parametric Corrado rank test.Main findings: The study showed statistically significant positive abnormal returns in the 30-day period preceding the split. The hypothesis that multiple splits cause particularly high increases in the market value of companies has not been confirmed. Research on the reaction to splits depending on the state of the stock market situation did not allow unambiguous conclusions in the case of the periods when the WSE Index (WIG) increased. In diesem Artikel wird versucht, eine komplexe Beurteilung der neuen Monographie von Paweł Bielawski durchzuführen. Diesem Ziel folgend ist dieser Beitrag in vier Teile aufgeteilt. Den ersten Teil bildet die Einleitung. Im zweiten Teil werden die theoretischen Inhalte beschrieben, die vom Autor der Monographie in den einzelnen Kapiteln vorgestellt wurden. Im dritten Teil wird die Monographie in Hinsicht auf deren Struktur, editorische Aspekte und Literaturauswahl beurteilt. Den möglichen Rezipientengruppen und den Vorteilen dieser Monographie im Kontext der genannten Gruppen ist der letzte Teil des Artikels gewidmet. Towards a transdimensional home : home-making in the narrations of Norwegians of Turkish descent

Building on current scholarship and empirical evidence from the research conducted by the author on Norwegian Turkish communities in the city of Drammen, Norway, this paper discusses the process of home-making by the descendants of Turkish immigrants in Norway, the so-called second- and third-generation. By doing so it develops a model of a transdimensional home that attempts to embrace the multiple and seemingly contradictory meanings and reflections of home involving eight dimensions identified in the narrations of the respondents: spatial, material, relational, home as routines and protection, home as origin, sensorial home, gendered relationships at home, and rejection from home. The model of a transdimensional home highlights people’s emotional and practical balancing acts between the ancestral country of origin and the place they live in. It aims at grasping the dynamics between these dimensions, approaching home as occurring at their intersection. It also underlines the processual character of the making of home in relation to the surrounding circumstances
