    Broadband Setup for Magnetic-Field-Induced Domain Wall Motion in Cylindrical Nanowires

    In order to improve the precision of domain wall dynamics measurements, we develop a coplanar waveguide-based setup where the domain wall motion should be triggered by pulses of magnetic field. The latter are produced by the Oersted field of the waveguide as a current pulse travels toward its termination, where it is dissipated. Our objective is to eliminate a source of bias in domain wall speed estimation while optimizing the field amplitude.     Idiopathic multicentric Castleman disease: a mysterious case of generalized lymphadenopathy

    Castleman disease is a syndrome with significant clinico-pathological overlap between malignancy, autoimmune causes and infectious etiologies. It is a spectrum and can vary in extent from unicentric to multicentric disease with generalized lymphadenopathy, organ involvement, constitutional symptoms and cytopenias, and in severity from non-severe to severe disease with TAFRO symptoms. Idiopathic multicentric Castleman disease (iMCD) is a diagnosis of exclusion after multiple causes as per diagnostic criteria are excluded. Treatment varies between the disease severity types with anti-IL 6 antibodies for non-severe disease to cytotoxic chemotherapy agents for severe disease with TAFRO symptoms. We hereby report a case of a non-severe type of iMCD with a prolonged course and delayed arrival at the diagnosis, owing to the rarity of this condition, which stresses the need for a reduced threshold to consider MCD, early in the differential diagnosis. Interestingly there were positive auto-antibodies and elevated IgG4 levels in this patient, but applying strict criteria helps to distinguish the diagnosis

    Molecular classification of breast cancer using IHC markers: experience from a tertiary cancer center in south India

    Background: Breast cancer is a very heterogeneous disease. Molecular or intrinsic subtypes of breast cancer are based on the gene expression profiling. Doing gene expression profiling in each case is practically difficult. So most of the labs depend on immunohistochemistry to classify breast tumors into various molecular-like subtypes. In this study, we have used immune histochemistry to classify tumors into various subtypes. Methods: We have retrospectively collected the data of breast cancer patients treated at Apollo Cancer Center, Chennai, in whom ER, PR, HER 2 Neu and Ki 67 were done, and the data was analyzed. Results: The commonest molecular subtype observed in the present study was Luminal B HER2 positive, constituting 40% of the cases, followed by a HER2 positive (non-luminal) subtype in 20% of cases. The triple negative subtype was the third most frequent, comprising 18% of the cases. The least frequent subtype was Luminal A, seen in only 8% of cases. Conclusions: There is a higher proportion of luminal B HER2 positive and triple negative subtypes in our study population compared to the other studies in published literature. The proportion of luminal A was lesser in our study compared to the literature

    Blockade of αEβ7 integrin suppresses accumulation of CD8+ and Th9 lymphocytes from patients with IBD in the inflamed gut in vivo

    Objective: Therapeutically targeting lymphocyte adhesion is of increasing relevance in IBD. Yet, central aspects of the action of anti-adhesion compounds are incompletely understood. We investigated the role of αEβ7 and α4β7 integrins and their blockade by vedolizumab and etrolizumab for trafficking of IBD T lymphocytes in an in vivo model of homing to and retention in the inflamed gut. Design: We explored integrin expression in IBD patients by flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry, while regulation of integrins was studied in T cell cultures. The functional relevance of integrins was assessed by adhesion assays and a recently established humanized mouse model in DSS-treated immunodeficient mice. Results: High expression of αEβ7 was noted on CD8+ and CD4+ Th9 cells, while α4β7 was expressed on CD8+, Th2 and Th17 cells. TCR stimulation and TGF-β were key inducers of αEβ7 on human T cells, while butyric acid suppressed αEβ7. In comparison to α4β7 blockade via vedolizumab, blockade of β7 via etrolizumab surrogate antibody superiorly reduced colonic numbers of CD8+ and Th9 cells in vivo after 3 hours, while no difference was noted after 0.5 hours. AEβ7 expression was higher on CD8+ T cells from IBD patients under vedolizumab therapy. Conclusion: AEβ7 is of key relevance for gut trafficking of IBD CD8+ T cells and CD4+ Th9 cells in vivo and mainly retention might account for this effect. These findings indicate that blockade of αEβ7 in addition to α4β7 may be particularly effective in intestinal disorders with expansion of CD8+ and Th9 cells such as IBD

Conclusions have been made about the need for additional instruments of impact on the population and on the pfessional market participants who would help stimulate the population in choosing the Russian stock market
