Single-Shot Electron Diffraction using a Cold Atom Electron Source
Cold atom electron sources are a promising alternative to traditional
photocathode sources for use in ultrafast electron diffraction due to greatly
reduced electron temperature at creation, and the potential for a corresponding
increase in brightness. Here we demonstrate single-shot, nanosecond electron
diffraction from monocrystalline gold using cold electron bunches generated in
a cold atom electron source. The diffraction patterns have sufficient signal to
allow registration of multiple single-shot images, generating an averaged image
with significantly higher signal-to-noise ratio than obtained with unregistered
averaging. Reflection high-energy electron diffraction (RHEED) was also
demonstrated, showing that cold atom electron sources may be useful in
resolving nanosecond dynamics of nanometre scale near-surface structures.Comment: This is an author-created, un-copyedited version of an article

Comparing phenomenological recipes with a microscopic model for the electric amplitude in strangeness photoproduction
Corrections to the Born approximation in photo-induced strangeness production
off a proton are calculated in a semi-realistic microscopic model. The vertex
corrections and internal contributions to the amplitude of the reaction are included on the one-loop level. Different
gauge-invariant phenomenological prescriptions for the modification of the Born
contribution via the introduction of form factors and contact terms are
discussed. In particular, it is shown that the popular minimal-substitution

Alternative Interpretation of Sharply Rising E0 Strengths in Transitional Regions
It is shown that strong 0+2 -> 0+1 E0 transitions provide a clear signature
of phase transitional behavior in finite nuclei. Calculations using the IBA
show that these transition strengths exhibit a dramatic and robust increase in
spherical-deformed shape transition regions, that this rise matches well the
existing data, that the predictions of these E0 transitions remain large in
deformed nuclei, and that these properties are intrinsic to the way that
collectivity and deformation develop through the phase transitional region in
the model, arising from the specific d-boson coherence in the wave functions,
and that they do not necessarily require the explicit mixing of normal and

Curie Temperatures for Three-Dimensional Binary Ising Ferromagnets
Using the Swendsen and Wang algorithm, high accuracy Monte Carlo simulations
were performed to study the concentration dependence of the Curie temperature
in binary, ferromagnetic Ising systems on the simple-cubic lattice. Our results
are in good agreement with known mean-field like approaches. Based on former
theoretical formulas we propose a new way of estimating the Curie temperature

A method for high precision reconstruction of air shower Xmax using two-dimensional radio intensity profiles
The mass composition of cosmic rays contains important clues about their
origin. Accurate measurements are needed to resolve long-standing issues such
as the transition from Galactic to extragalactic origin, and the nature of the
cutoff observed at the highest energies. Composition can be studied by
measuring the atmospheric depth of the shower maximum Xmax of air showers
generated by high-energy cosmic rays hitting the Earth's atmosphere. We present
a new method to reconstruct Xmax based on radio measurements. The radio
emission mechanism of air showers is a complex process that creates an
asymmetric intensity pattern on the ground. The shape of this pattern strongly
depends on the longitudinal development of the shower. We reconstruct Xmax by
fitting two-dimensional intensity profiles, simulated with CoREAS, to data from
the LOFAR radio telescope. In the dense LOFAR core, air showers are detected by
hundreds of antennas simultaneously. The simulations fit the data very well,
indicating that the radiation mechanism is now well-understood. The typical
uncertainty on the reconstruction of Xmax for LOFAR showers is 17 g/cm^2.Comment: 12 pages, 10 figures, submitted to Phys. Rev.
Extended shell-model calculation for even N=82 isotones with realistic effective interactions
The shell model within the shell is applied to
calculate nuclear structure properties of the even Z=52 - 62, N=82 isotones.
The results are compared with experimental data and with the results of a
quasiparticle random-phase approximation (QRPA) calculation. The interaction
used in these calculations is a realistic two-body G-matrix interaction derived
from modern meson-exchange potential models for the nucleon-nucleon
interaction. For the shell model all the two-body matrix elements are
renormalized by the -box method whereas for the QRPA the effective

Host use of the elkhorn coral crab <i>Domecia acanthophora</i> (Brachyura : Domeciidae), with a phylogeny of the genus
Coral-dwelling crabs form a diverse community on coral reefs, and various families independently colonised scleractinian corals. Species of Domecia have a circumtropical distribution, with two known species in the Indo-Pacific, one in the West Atlantic and one in the East Atlantic. New host records for the West Atlantic species D. acanthophora are recorded from Guadeloupe, as well as the first dwellings in Acropora prolifera from Curaçao. Here we provide an overview of all known hosts of Domecia species and, based on COI mtDNA, the first phylogeny of the genus. The coral Orbicella faveolata and the sponge Callyspongia sp. are recorded as new hosts for D. acanthophora. Host records for this species now include eight scleractinian hosts, Millepora fire corals and records on sponges. Our phylogenetic reconstruction shows that D. acanthophora is closest to the wide-ranging Indo-Pacific species D. hispida, and more distantly related to D. glabra. Domecia acanthophora appears to be less host specific than its congeners D. hispida and D. glabra that predominantly associate with Pocillopora and Acropora corals, respectively. Differences in host-specificity between Indo-Pacific and Atlantic species are briefly discussed in the light of similar observations on other coral-dwelling crab species
Measures of self-regulation used in adult rehabilitation populations:A systematic review and content screening
Objective We aimed to identify generic measures of self-regulation and to examine the degree to which these measures fit a recently developed conceptual model of self-regulation in a rehabilitation context. Data sources Pubmed, Embase, PsycInfo, and CINAHL were searched. Review methods Articles were included if they were published between January 2015 and August 2020 and reported on empirical studies (trials and observational studies) using a measure of self-regulation or a related concept, in an adult rehabilitation population. Main content was analysed by linking all items of the selected measures to one or more of the six sub-themes of self-regulation: (1) insight into physical and cognitive impairments, (2) insight into the consequences of the impairments, (3) insight into abilities, (4) to be able to communicate limitations, (5) trust in body and functioning, and (6) make use of abilities. Results Two reviewers independently screened 7808 abstracts, resulting in the inclusion of 236 articles. In these articles, 80 different measures were used to assess self-regulation or related concept. Nineteen of these measures met the inclusion criteria and were included for the content analyses. Nine of these were self-efficacy measures. No measures covered four or more of the six sub-themes of self-regulation. The three sub-themes on gaining insights were covered less compared to the sub-domains 'trust' and 'make use of abilities'. Conclusions Many measures on self-regulation exist None of these measures cover all six sub-themes of self-regulation considered important to measure self-regulation as a rehabilitation outcome
