The analysis of thermal annealing on the mechanical properties of WWER 440 type reactor internals
slouží k významnému obnovení výchozích mechanických vlastností a tím i podstatnému prodloužení životnosti.

neutron flux than reactor pressure vessel during their operation. The technology of thermal
annealing can be one of the possible solutions to ensure long term service life of reactor pressure
vessel internals. This method has been successfully applied for thermal annealing of reactor
pressure vessel (RPV) WWER 440. Thermal annealing can be one of the possible solutions to
provide and re-establish initial mechanical properties and thus can contribute to long term operation of reactor pressure vessel internals. The paper presents the evaluation of mechanical
properties (hardness, static fracture toughness) of irradiated Ti – stabilized austenitic stainlesssteel type 321 WWER 440 reactor pressure vessel internals – core barrel. The paper includes
results of experimental program unirradiated and irradiated Ti - stabilized austenitic stainless

Within the current trend of industrial components life extension, in addition to innovative
test methods for the mechanical properties determination, other methods are continuously developed and implemented. Their application to structural materials can have a significant benefits in the process of extending the life of equipment. One of the possible solutions for the initial
mechanical properties of structural materials re-establishment is thermal annealing, which has
been successfully applied on WWER 440 type reactor pressure vessels (RPV). The RPV internals are not monitored by surveillance programs and the degree of internals material degradation is usually based on literature data from tests on similar materials, from predictive formulae
or other procedures and normative documents. The paper is focused on the comprehensive
presentation of suitable recovery annealing parameters for application to irradiated materials of
internal components of the WWER 440 type reactor for the re-establishment of initial mechanical properties
The enzyme kinetics of the NADP-malic enzyme from tobacco leaves
Malic enzyme (L-malate: NADP + oxidoreductase (oxaloacetate-decarboxylating), EC 1.1.1.40, NADP-ME), which was found in chloroplasts, was isolated from tobacco leaves (Nicotiana tabacum L.) almost homogenous. The specific enzyme activity was 0.95 µmol min -1 mg -1 . The enzyme pH optimum was found between pH 7.1 and 7.4. Malic enzyme (L-malate: NAD(P) + oxidoreductase (decarboxylating)) catalyzes oxidative decarboxylation of L-malate using NAD + or NADP + as coenzymes in the presence of divalent metal ions to produce pyruvate, NAD(P)H and CO 2 1,2 . This is ascribed to three related forms of malic enzymes. The first, EC 1.1.1.38, which uses NAD + as a coenzyme and ca

Handbook of standardized protocols for collecting plant modularity traits
Plant modularity traits relevant to functions of on-spot persistence, space occupancy, resprouting after disturbance, as well as resource storage, sharing, and foraging have been underrepresented in functional ecology so far. This knowledge gap exists for multiple reasons. First, these functions and related traits have been considered less important than others (e.g., resource economics, organ-based traits). Second, collecting data for modularity traits can be difficult. Third, as a consequence of the previous points, there is a lack of standardized collection protocols. We now feel the time is ripe to provide a solid conceptual and terminological framework together with comparable protocols for plant modularity traits that can be applicable across species, regions and biomes. We identify a suite of 14 key traits, which are assembled into five groups. We discuss the functional relevance of each trait, supplying effective guidelines to assist in the use and selection of the most suitable traits in relation to specific research tasks. Finally, we are convinced that the systematic study and widespread assessment of plant modularity traits could bridge this knowledge gap. As a result, previously overlooked key functions could be incorporated into the functional ecology research-agenda, thus providing a more comprehensive understanding of plant and ecosystem functioning.Fil: Klimešová, Jitka.
