Hybrid Approach to English-Hindi Name Entity Transliteration

Machine translation (MT) research in Indian languages is still in its infancy. Not much work has been done in proper transliteration of name entities in this domain. In this paper we address this issue. We have used English-Hindi language pair for our experiments and have used a hybrid approach. At first we have processed English words using a rule based approach which extracts individual phonemes from the words and then we have applied statistical approach which converts the English into its equivalent Hindi phoneme and in turn the corresponding Hindi word. Through this approach we have attained 83.40% accuracy.Comment: Proceedings of IEEE Students' Conference on Electrical, Electronics and Computer Sciences 201

Buckling of chiral rods due to coupled axial and rotational growth

    Get PDF
We present a growth model for special Cosserat rods that allows for induced rotation of cross-sections. The growth law considers two controls, one for lengthwise growth and other for rotations. This is explored in greater detail for straight rods with helical and hemitropic material symmetries by introduction of a symmetry preserving growth to account for the microstructure. The example of a guided-guided rod possessing a chiral microstructure is considered to study its deformation due to growth. We show the occurrence of growth induced out-of-plane buckling in such rods

Social Cognition a Tool to Build a Peaceful and Democratic Society in South Asia: In Organizational Context

The South Asian region comprises of SAARC Nations Afghanistan Pakistan India Bangladesh Nepal Maldives and Srilanka The former two are predominant Muslim countries but the others have a population from different backgrounds All the nations so needs to build a mutual understanding among themselves to realize the basic values for a peaceful environment Peace building means having democracy and equality since it gives the fundamental rights to be practiced by the population The liberalism policies free trade and a view of economic development the industrial growth took place and therefore the organizations expanded themselves out of the territorial boundaries leading to a diversified work force The human capital is a real asset to the organizations and this is the reason they must be provided an environment without discriminations Trade Unions and government plays a crucial role in this This paper discusses about the functions of Trade Unions Governments and the HRM department in maintenance of peace in the organizations Besides this it also introduces Social Cognition a psychological concept which can help in bringing peace and prosperity among the individuals Peace is considered as a psychological feeling It comes gradually when the individuals are happy in their social life It is not a matter of compulsion It is essential to treat it at solitary level and then to the regional leve

Amended Consumer Protection Act 2019 Vis-A Vis Health Care of Patients

    Get PDF
The approach is aimed at the identification of the gaps and loopholes which might prove detrimental in the achievement of proper goals as perceived by the patients and their attendants who have to visit hospitals for treatment. Undesirable and unwanted actions or inactions in situations of the utmost need of a medical professional constitute the two infamous conduct-related words –Medical Negligence and Medical Malpractice. The focus on the study undertaken was concentrated on finding out whether or not coming into force of Consumer Protection Act, 2019 could make any substantial difference as far as Justice in medico-legal cases is concerned

Sensitivity analysis of oscillating hybrid systems

Thesis (S.M.)--Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Computation for Design and Optimization Program, 2010.Cataloged from PDF version of thesis.Includes bibliographical references (p. 137-140).Many models of physical systems oscillate periodically and exhibit both discrete-state and continuous-state dynamics. These systems are called oscillating hybrid systems and find applications in diverse areas of science and engineering, including robotics, power systems, systems biology, and so on. A useful tool that can provide valuable insights into the influence of parameters on the dynamic behavior of such systems is sensitivity analysis. A theory for sensitivity analysis with respect to the initial conditions and/or parameters of oscillating hybrid systems is developed and discussed. Boundary-value formulations are presented for initial conditions, period, period sensitivity and initial conditions for the sensitivities. A difference equation analysis of general homogeneous equations and parametric sensitivity equations with linear periodic piecewise continuous coefficients is presented. It is noted that the monodromy matrix for these systems is not a fundamental matrix evaluated after one period, but depends on one. A three part decomposition of the sensitivities is presented based on the analysis. These three parts classify the influence of the parameters on the period, amplitude and relative phase of the limit-cycles of hybrid systems, respectively. The theory developed is then applied to the computation of sensitivity information for some examples of oscillating hybrid systems using existing numerical techniques and methods. The relevant information given by the sensitivity trajectory and its parts can be used in algorithms for different applications such as parameter estimation, control system design, stability analysis and dynamic optimization.by Vibhu Prakash Saxena.S.M

Relationship between phyto-chemicals in Mentha piperita and their Antibacterial Activity

    Get PDF
A plant with as diverse a role as Peppermint leaves is a versatile resource for all forms of life. The plant extracts have active compounds in the form of alkaloids, glycosides, lactones and steroids. All these active compounds have immunomodulatory and physiological roles of different types, thereby demonstrating the diverse versatility of the plant. Studies need to be conducted with aspects of how the active compounds actually interact with the living systems and affects the structure-function relationships Aqueous extract of Peppermint leaves were extracted by aqueous method. In the qualitative phytochemical testing presence of various secondary metabolites were found in aqueous extract of Peppermint leaves were Alkaloid, Flavonoids, Tannins and Saponin. In the quantitative analysis carbohydrate was found in) Peppermint leaves sugar conc. is found (470 μg/ml). Antimicrobial activity was also quite good, in Peppermint leaves respectively against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. The study demonstrates that the Mentha piperita contains the presence of different bioactive compounds having the potential as herbal drug

    Comparative Healthcare: Palliative care

The majority of Australians with life-limiting illnesses are cared for at home by their families and friends with medical support provided by their General Practitioner. A large number receive additional care from Community Nurses who are usually based in specific Palliative Care services. Several agencies provide home help, performing services such as cleaning, laundry or shopping, and these can sometimes be paid for or contributed to by the government. In Nepal well organized palliative care services are not available. Palliative care is provided by primary physicians/ surgeons indicating a shortage of specialists in the field, in addition many doctors and health services providers do not regard palliative care as a priority. In Nepal most patients live in remote rural areas of the Himalayas.  In both Australia and Nepal the patient can spend the last few days at home. However the government in Australia is able to provide much more support to families in these circumstances, in Nepal families must be very much more self sufficient. [ENG] The retail scenario in India is very unique in nature. The major part is in the unorganized sector, with over 12 million retail outlets of various sizes and formats. If you watch closely 96% of these retail outlets are less than 500 sq. ft. in size. The per capita retail space in India being 2 sq. ft. compared to United States figure of 16 sq. ft., India’s per capita retailing space is thus the lowest in the world with more than 9 outlets per 1000 people; India has the largest number in the world. Most of them are independent and contribute as much as 96% to total retail sales. Because of the increasing number of nuclear families, working women, greater work pressure and increased commuting time, convenience has become a priority for Indian consumers. They want everything under one roof for easy access and multiplicity of choice. This offers an excellent opportunity for organized retailers in the country who account for just 4% (and modern stores 0.5%) of the estimated US $180 billion worth of goods that are retailed in India every year.
