Ground states of Heisenberg evolution operator in discrete three-dimensional space-time and quantum discrete BKP equations
In this paper we consider three-dimensional quantum q-oscillator field theory
without spectral parameters. We construct an essentially big set of eigenstates
of evolution with unity eigenvalue of discrete time evolution operator. All
these eigenstates belong to a subspace of total Hilbert space where an action
of evolution operator can be identified with quantized discrete BKP equations
(synonym Miwa equations). The key ingredients of our construction are specific
eigenstates of a single three-dimensional R-matrix. These eigenstates are
boundary states for hidden three-dimensional structures of U_q(B_n^1) and
U_q(D_n^1)$.Comment: 13 page
Enhancement of the electric dipole moment of the electron in BaF molecule
We report results of ab initio calculation of the spin-rotational Hamiltonian
parameters including P- and P,T-odd terms for the BaF molecule. The ground
state wave function of BaF molecule is found with the help of the Relativistic
Effective Core Potential method followed by the restoration of molecular
four-component spinors in the core region of barium in the framework of a
non-variational procedure. Core polarization effects are included with the help
of the atomic Many Body Perturbation Theory for Barium atom. For the hyperfine

Enhancement of the Curie temperature in GaMnAs/InGaMnAs superlattices
We report on an enhancement of the Curie temperature in GaMnAs/InGaMnAs
superlattices grown by low-temperature molecular beam epitaxy, which is due to
thin InGaMnAs or InGaAs films embedded into the GaMnAs layers. The pronounced
increase of the Curie temperature is strongly correlated to the In
concentration in the embedded layers. Curie temperatures up to 110 K are
observed in such structures compared to 60 K in GaMnAs single layers grown
under the same conditions. A further increase in T up to 130 K can be
achieved using post-growth annealing at temperatures near the growth
temperature. Pronounced thickness fringes in the high resolution X-ray
diffraction spectra indicate good crystalline quality and sharp interfaces in

Slowing heavy, ground-state molecules using an alternating gradient decelerator
Cold supersonic beams of molecules can be slowed down using a switched
sequence of electrostatic field gradients. The energy to be removed is
proportional to the mass of the molecules. Here we report deceleration of YbF,
which is 7 times heavier than any molecule previously decelerated. We use an
alternating gradient structure to decelerate and focus the molecules in their
ground state. We show that the decelerator exhibits the axial and transverse
stability required to bring these molecules to rest. Our work significantly
extends the range of molecules amenable to this powerful method of cooling and

Enhancement of the electric dipole moment of the electron in the YbF molecule
We calculate an effective electric field on the unpaired electron in the YbF
molecule. This field determines sensitivity of the molecular experiment to the
electric dipole moment of the electron. We use experimental value of the
spin-doubling constant to estimate the admixture of the configuration with the
hole in the 4f-shell of Ytterbium to the ground state of the molecule. This
admixture reduces the field by 7%. Our value for the effictive field is 5.1
a.u. = 2.5 10^{10} V/cm.Comment: 5 pages, LATEX, uses revtex.st
Temperature effect in the Casimir attraction of a thin metal film
The Casimir effect for conductors at arbitrary temperatures is theoretically
studied. By using the analytical properties of the Green functions and applying
the Abel-Plan formula to Lifshitz's equation, the Casimir force is presented as
sum of a temperature dependent and vacuum contributions of the fluctuating
electromagnetic field. The general results are applied to the system consisting
of a bulk conductor and a thin metal film. It is shown that a characteristic
frequency of the thermal fluctuations in this system is proportional to the
square root of a thickness of the metal film. For the case of the sufficiently
high temperatures when the thermal fluctuations play the main role in the
Casimir interaction, this leads to the growth of the effective dielectric
permittivity of the film and to a disappearance of the dependence of Casimir's

Counting electrons transferred through a thin alumina film into Au chains
Low-temperature STM measurements combined with density functional theory calculations are employed to study the adsorption of gold on alumina/NiAl(110). The binding of Au monomers involves breaking of an oxide Al-O bond below the adatom and stabilizing the hence undercoordinated O ion by forming a new bond to an Al atom in the NiAl. The adsorption implies negative charging of the adatom. The linear arrangement of favorable binding sites induces the self-organization of Au atoms into chains. For every ad-chain, the number of transfer electrons from the support is determined by analyzing the node structure of the corresponding highest occupied molecular orbital
Nuclear fragmentation: sampling the instabilities of binary systems
We derive stability conditions of Asymmetric Nuclear Matter () and
discuss the relation to mechanical and chemical instabilities of general
two-component systems. We show that the chemical instability may appear as an
instability of the system against isoscalar-like rather than isovector-like
fluctuations if the interaction between the two constituent species has an
attractive character as in the case of . This leads to a new kind of
liquid-gas phase transition, of interest for fragmentation experiments with
