Tissue and cell's trafficking: a byproduct of transplant activity's trash. The future is now. A Public Health problem
Transplantation is one of the most beautiful achievements
for humanity in the last century and became
the last hope to many patients. As other beautiful
achievements, it has been used by criminals. The future
of transplantation will be focused on tissue and cells
transplantation. Trafficking of human beings to organ
removal and trafficking of human organs are an early
stage of trafficking on tissues and cells comparable
with slaves trafficking in the 17th and 18th century. As
400 years ago, the motive for the crime is development,
economy and profit. Transplant surgery is the modern
“cotton gin” to this new commerce. Poverty exploitation,
unprotected people, are always the victims. Even
so, there are some differences since then. The paying
buyers are the patients themselves and the “cotton”
transplanted is not so harmless. Unsafe tissues and
cells inappropriately collected and allocated can be
so dangerous to the recipient and his family, that the
dreamed transplant/implant becomes a nightmare. Beyond the trafficking crime, there is a most dangerous associated crime that is the crime of spreading dangerous infectious diseases
The impact of structural capital on the firm Innovativeness, the Galician Northern Portugal automotive industries reality
The intellectual capital is increasingly considered a major issue on the management and organization research and a source of competitive advantage. Although there are different models and approaches that try to identify the effect of intellectual capital on firm performance, there’s, also a lack of evidence and consensus. Based on that evidence, this paper focuses on the influence of the structural capital on the product- process and management innovativeness of the firm. A global model including the variables used in the previous literature is used and we establishes hypotheses for testing this model and use statistic technique to estimate the parameters of the model in a sample. To do so, we use a survey from 68 firms working on the auto components sector, established in the Northern Spain and Northern Portugal. We found firstly, that innovativeness has two main dimensions, perfectly differentiated, the product-process innovation and the management innovation; secondly that the structural capital dimensions influences differently each type of innovation capacity (innovativeness). We also concluded that the structural capital of the automotive firms based on the euro region Galicia (Spain) Northern Portugal influences positive and directly the management innovativeness. These results highlight the importance of the structural capital as well as highlight the main dimensions that influence the innovativeness, and more broadly, the value of intellectual capital as a competitive advantage in contemporary time. Moreover, point out the different character of product-process and management innovativeness.
The importance of green marketing for portuguese companies in the footwear industry
The concept of sustainability, with three pillars, environmental, social and economic appeared in the context of our society as a possible solution to our planet problems and challenges and it rapidly achieved the business world.
Companies started to be committed to the future and to sustainability, through Corporate Social Responsibility practices, adopting a business model that evaluates the consequences and impacts of its actions and contemplates social and environmental aspects in its financial vision (Aligleri et. al., 2009).
If we think about the footwear industry, that largely contributes to and is affected by the environmental degradation and social challenges that the society is now facing, it makes all sense to understand how companies in this sector operate, particularly in terms of environmental protection. If at an early stage, this industry was only concerned with fulfilment of the requirements established by environmental
legislation, more recently it has been worried about the impact of its products and processes on the environment and has identified in these products a new business opportunity and a way to differentiate their products on the market.
Therefore, the purpose of this research is to understand what strategies Portuguese companies in footwear industry adopt relatively to sustainability and environmental protection, namely in terms of green marketing strategies. In addition, it will be important to realise their importance for companies and motivations that lead to
A 31P nuclear magnetic resonance study of phosphate levels in roots of ectomycorrhizal and nonmycorrhizal plants of Castanea sativa Mill.
31P-Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) was
used to assess phosphate distribution in ectomycorrhizal and nonmycorrhizal roots of Castanea sativa Mill. as well as in the mycorrhizal fungus Pisolithus tinctorius in order to gain insight into phosphate trafficking in these systems. The fungus P. tinctorius accumulated high levels of polyphosphates during the rapid phase of growth.
Mycorrhizal and nonmycorrhizal roots accumulate orthophosphate. Only mycorrhizal roots presented polyphosphates. The content in polyphosphates increased along the 3 months of mycorrhiza formation. In mycorrhizal roots of plants cultured under axenic conditions, the orthophosphate pool decreased along the culture time. In nonmycorrhizal roots the decrease in the orthophosphate content was less pronounced. The level of orthophosphate in mycorrhizal roots was significantly lower than in nonmycorrhizal ones, which indicates that this system relies upon the fungal polyphosphates as a major source of phosphate
consubstanciam a planificação.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

Strongylaspis antonkozlovi Galileo and Santos-Silva sp. nov. (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae: Prioninae) is described from Cusuco National Park in Honduras, becoming the second species of the genus known in that country. The new species is compared to S. bullata Bates, 1872, the most similar species
The perspective of young people in residential care regarding their autonomization process
Although Portugal presents a high percentage of young people in residential care,
research on the subject is scarce, and rarely takes into account the narratives of the young
people themselves. The present study was conducted with the aim of understanding how
young people in residential care face the process of autonomization. The participants were
11 young people, between 15 and 17 years of age, who were living in a Residential Care
Center in the northern region of the country. A document analysis grid was used to analyze
the processes of young people, at an initial stage. Then, a semi-structured interview was
conducted, in order to understand the point of view of young people about the context in
which they are inserted, their view on the residential care process and their perceptions
about leaving the institution. The results suggest that residential care is experienced in an
overall negative way by the young people interviewed, since they perceive it as a break of
emotional bonds. Despite all the difficulties that emerge during the institutionalization
period, they report some positive changes, namely in terms of decreasing disruptive
behaviors and substance use. The results also seem to indicate that these young people do
not have the necessary skills to face the process of autonomization.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
Between school knowledge, teaching-learning processes and teaching skills: a portuguese-brazilian experience in teacher training
This paper aims to understand the perceptions of students and future teachers about the process of teaching and learning, and the consequent necessary skills to teaching practice. In this sense, it briefly raises questions related to school knowledge, teaching, learning and teaching skills. Based on a teaching exercise developed with students in Brazilian and Portuguese universities, it sought to understand these perceptions by making the students aware of the necessity of systematizing the necessary knowledge to comprehend the processes of learning and teaching, as well as the teaching skills required to successfully go through this process. At last, we stress the importance of a project integrated in the pre-service teaching process, refuting the juxtaposition of somewhat specialized skills, which do not essentially contribute to the teacher's fundamental action: the mobilization based on these skills for the teaching and learning processes.CIEC - Centro de Investigação em Estudos da Criança, IE, UMinho (UI 317 da FCT), Portugal.
This work has as a point to analyze the aspects of integrated perspective of curriculum in
the basic training of Brazilian teachers. We based the model of “Integrated Curriculum
Training”, we have performed a file analysis in pedagogical projects of the pedagogy
majors from Brazilian Federal Universities to understand which and how the elements of
training integrated model are present on these files. The results showed: About Training
referential, the projects show justifications that base in the valuation of significant
knowledge construction processes. What about the centrality of practice, we see projects
that either conceive it as a course structural axis or condense it all in internship activities.
About the curricular unit organizations, the projects evince organizations by theme
centers/axes. However the juxtaposition of disciplines prevails. What concerns to the
professional context linkage, the majors intend to an exchanging training spaces since the
training beginning. Finally, what about the development of praxis, we verify the concern
of training the educator able to think of its own practice as while a critic intervention in
the teaching and learning process. In this sense, we assure punctual experiences are not enough to involve the training complexity and the professional performance, it is necessary
recognize the transformer feature of a integrated curriculum, as a training possibility of a
professional profile that fulfill the contemporary educational context.
