Geodiversidade e ocupação urbana de Juiz de Fora:: Possibilidades e desafios

This paper aims to present some sites and geodiversity elements in Juiz de Fora City, showing its importance in the city spatial dynamic formation as an important element for the urban population, aiming to demonstrate how the occupation of the studied areas interfere on the city’s dynamic and spatial organization. Therefore, rocky outcrops and aspects of the structural geomorphology that stand out in the city were investigated by satellite images and field observation. After choosing some geodiversity sites, people who develop activities related to such geodiversity sites were interviewed. Then it was possible to link cultural, aesthetic, historic-scientific and scientific values to those sites of geodiversity of Juiz de Fora urban area. By means of this research, it is expected that there will be initiatives regarding the city geodiversity valorization, in order to promote geoconservation actions and also to contribute and spread the words about knowing the geodiversity in Juiz de Fora city, since there are few studies about such theme in that region, aiming that the understanding of such issues may help the population to understand its insertion in where they live. Este artigo tem como objetivo apresentar alguns sítios e elementos da Geodiversidade na cidade de Juiz de Fora, mostrando sua importância na formação da dinâmica espacial da cidade como elemento importante para a população urbana, procurando demonstrar como a ocupação das áreas estudadas interferem na organização dinâmica e espacial da cidade. Para tanto, foram investigados afloramentos rochosos e aspectos da geomorfologia estrutural que se destacam na cidade por meio de imagens de satélites e observação em campo. Após a escolha de alguns sítios de geodiversidade, foram realizadas entrevistas com sujeitos que desenvolvem alguma atividade relacionada aos sítios de geodiversidade. A partir daí foi possível atrelar os valores científicos, histórico-científicos, estéticos e culturais à esses sítios de geodiversidade da área urbana de Juiz de Fora. Espera-se que através da pesquisa haja iniciativas a respeito da valorização da Geodiversidade da cidade, com intuito de promover ações de geoconservação e também contribuir e divulgar sobre o conhecimento sobre a geodiversidade presente em Juiz de Fora, já que há poucos estudos dentro dessa temática na região, visando que o entendimento dessas questões podem auxiliar a população entender a sua inserção dentro do espaço em que vivem

Pregnancy, acquired immunodeficiency virus and covid-19: challenges in prenatal care / Gestação, Vírus Da Imunodeficiência Adquirida (HIV) e covid-19: desafios na assistência ao pré-natal

Objetivo: evidenciar os desafios existentes durante o pré-natal em mulheres grávidas soropositivas para o Vírus da Imunodeficiência Adquirida durante um período pandêmico. Método: Trata-se de uma pesquisa quantitativa exploratória de caráter descritivo, utilizando-se de levantamento de dados através de entrevistas em campo com 19 gestantes com Vírus da Imunodeficiência Adquirida de um serviço de assistência especializada, entre julho de 2021 e julho de 2022. Resultados: apontaram dificuldades para agendar consultas, realizar exames e acesso aos resultados, dificuldades para conseguir transporte devido a distância da unidade de infectologia e dificuldade para agendar consultas na unidade básica de saúde. Conclusão: o serviço de assistência especializada realizou a reorganização da assistência para diminuir os desafios presentes, que foram dificuldade de acesso a unidade, marcação e acesso a resultado de exames pré-natal.

As redes sociais em projetos de Extensão de educação em solos:: ênfase no projeto “Ampliando os horizontes: o solo, a vida e a arte” da Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora

The Project “Expanding the Horizons: Soil, life and art” aims to democratize the soil’s scientific knowledge by disseminating themes related to Geography, Biology, Chemistry and Arts. This work has evaluated the project page’s performance on Instagram. For that, a panorama of the Soil Extension Projects on social networks (Instagram, Facebook, Site/Blog and/or YouTube), cataloged in the book – “Soil Education Initiatives in Brazil” has been outlined. During 10 months, a panorama of the “Expanding the Horizons” Project’s profile has been outlined by using Instagram metrics such as likes, interaction with the audience through the stories, followers’ profiles and the impressions by posted contents. The results have shown that 65% of the Brazilian projects have some kind of social network and Instagram is their main one. The project’s profile shows that most of its followers live in Juiz de Fora city and they are between 25 and 34 years old. The most liked themes were about Geography and Diverse Issues. The surveys on Chemistry and Biology of the soils have interacted better with the audience. Finally, the themes of more interaction were Diverse Issues and Presentations. It was confirmed then the importance of social networks for Education Extension Projects on soils, including the “Expanding Horizons” one which has shown a significant interaction with the Instagram audience, increasing the popularization of such an important theme to the environmental issues, sharing knowledge and awakening the importance of the soil for biodiversity conservation.O projeto “Ampliando os Horizontes: o solo, a vida e a arte” busca democratizar o conhecimento científico do solo por meio de divulgação de temas relacionados à Geografia, Biologia, Química e Artes. Os resultados mostraram que 65% dos projetos brasileiros possuem algum tipo de rede social, sendo o Instagram a principal. O perfil do projeto possui a maioria de seus seguidores residentes em Juiz de Fora e possuem idade entre 25 a 34 anos. Os temas que mais geraram curtidas foram relacionados à Geografia e a Assuntos Diversos. As enquetes sobre Química e Biologia dos solos foram as de maior interação com o público. Por fim, os temas de maior interação foram Assuntos Diversos e Apresentações. Confirmou-se a importância das redes sociais para projetos extensionistas de educação em solos, incluindo o “Ampliando os Horizontes”, que apontou significativa interação com o público do Instagram, aumentando a popularização deste tema tão caro às questões ambientais, compartilhando conhecimento e demonstrando a importância do solo para a conservação da biodiversidade

Multidimensional assessment of institutionalized elderly: the reality of a brazilian institution

Background: The population aging in Brazil is characterized by the accumulation of progressive disabilities in their functional activities and daily life. To consider the elderlies in his/her multiple dimensions turns out to be a critical issue to improvetheir assistance to an institu-tionalized level, improving their health and quality of life. To perform a mini-overall evaluation of institutionalized elderly person to trace their profile in relation to the socio-demographic, functional capacity, nutritional status and cognition. Methods: Descriptive study, with a cross-sectional design and quan-titative approach performed in a long - stay institution for the elderly in Natal, RN. The research was approved by the Research Ethics Com-mittee of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, under opinion number 164/2011.Results: 63.3% of the elderly were female, with ages varying from 61 to 103 years. 60.0% were single; 56.7% were literate. 66.7% had no children and 55% lived with their families before the institutio-nalization. As for the institutionalization time, 63.3% resided in the institution for four years. As what concerns the aspects of health, 73.3% of the elderly presented hearing difficulties, 90% make use of medicines predominantly to diabetes and hypertension. There is clear evidence that the institutionalization has been harmful to the elderly as with regards basic activities of daily living, nutritional status and cognitive aspects. Conclusion: The progressive disability in functional activities of daily life interferes directly in the quality of life, increasing dependency and minimizing the autonomy of these individuals. It is necessary to effec-tive implementation of public policies directed to the institutionalized elderly from the perspective of effective actions for improved attention and assistance
