Eskola eta familia haurraren garapenerako eta gizarteratze prozesurako funtsezko eremuak dira. Izan ere, lanaren asmo nagusia bien arteko erlazio eta komunikazioaren ezagutzan sakontzea izan da. Nahi horrekin, aurrenik familien parte-hartzearen kontzeptua berrikusi da, hainbat hurbilketa teorikoen argitan. Gero, Estatu mailan familien parte-hartzea arautzen duen marko juridikoa eta egoera soziala deskribatu da. Azkenik, aurrekari horien argitan, ikerketa enpirikoa burutu da klase ertaineko familien ikastetxe hitzartuan. Zundaketaren bidez, horrelako ikastetxeetan egungo parte-hartze mailaren diagnosia lortu da.[en] This work has been carried out with the purpose of better understanding one of the realities of the educational sphere: the involvement of families in schools. In doing so, we have focused on the communication relationships between the family and the school, considering both groups as fundamental socialization contexts for child development. Thus, from a theoretical framework based on the conceptualization of participation from different theoretical approaches and the legal framework that regulates this area at state level, we have done a field work in a concerted middle class center that seeks to probe the ways and the practice of involving families in order to obtain an assessment of the levels of participation today in these centers

Citation Flows in the Zones of Influence of Scientific Collaborations

Domestic citation to papers from the same country and the greater citation impact of documents involving international collaboration are two phenomena that have been extensively studied and contrasted. Here, however, we showthat it is not somuch a national bias, but that papers have a greater impact on their immediate environments, an impact that is diluted as that environment grows. For this reason, the greatest biases are observed in countries with a limited production. Papers that involve international collaboration have a greater impact in general, on the one hand, because they have multiple “immediate environments,” and on the other because of their greater quality or prestige. In short, one can say that science knows no frontiers. Certainly there is a greater impact on the authors’ immediate environment, but this does not necessarily have to coincide with their national environments, which fade in importance as the collaborative environment expands. This work was financed by the Junta de Extremadura,Consejería de Educación, Ciencia & Tecnología and the Fondo Social Europeo as part of the pre-doctoral studentship PRE07052 and the research group grant GR10019, and by the Plan Nacional de Investigación Científica, Desarrollo e Innovación Tecnológica 2008-2011 and the Fondo Europeo de Desarrollo Regional (FEDER) as part of research projects TIN2008-06514-C02-01 and TIN2008-06514-C0202.Peer reviewe

    Citation increments between collaborating countries

International collaboration enhances citation impact. Collaborating with a country increments the citations received from it. But some collaborating countries provide greater increments in this sense than others, and likewise some countries receive greater increments from their partner countries than others. We observed a certain tendency for these increments to be lower in countries with greater impacts. Also, all the countries studied had higher Domestic Impacts as a result of collaborating, although this increment was less than that obtained from other countries. Finally, there were differences in the behaviour of the countries between the various scientific disciplines, with the effects being greatest in Social Sciences, followed by Engineering. © 2012 Akadémiai Kiadó, Budapest, Hungary.Peer Reviewe

Background

Data on long-term outcomes of patients receiving antiretroviral therapy (ART) in sub-Saharan Africa are few. We describe outcomes of patients commenced on ART at Newlands Clinic between 2004 and 2006 after ≥10 years of comprehensive care including, psychosocial, adherence and food support.

Methods

In this retrospective cohort study, patient data from an electronic medical record collected during routine care were analysed. We describe baseline characteristics, virological and clinical outcomes, attrition rates, and treatment adverse effects until November 2016. We defined virological suppression as viral load <50 copies/ml and virological failure as >1000 copies/ml after ≥6 months of ART.

Results

We analysed data for 605 patients (67% female) who commenced ART, and were followed-up for 5819 person-years (median: 10.7 years, IQR: 10.1–11.4). Median age at ART initiation was 34 years (IQR: 17–42). Pre-ART, 129 (21.3%) patients had history of pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB). In care, 66 (11%) developed PTB, and 24 (4%) developed extrapulmonary tuberculosis. 385 (63.6%) patients experienced ≥1 adverse event, the most frequent being stavudine-induced peripheral neuropathy (n = 252, 41.7%). At database closure on 14 November 2016, 474 (78.3%) patients were still in care, 428 (90.3%) being virologically suppressed, and 21 (4.4%) failing. While 483 (79.8%) remained on first line, 122 (20.2%) were switched to second line ART. Fifty-nine patients (9.8%) were transferred to other ART facilities, 45 (7.4%) were lost to follow-up, 25 (4.1%) died, and two stopped ART.

Conclusion

Comprehensive HIV care can result in low mortality, high retention in care and virologic suppression rates in resource limited settings.
</div
