Optimization of Electrical Validation and Debug Time in Reference Clocks

    Get PDF

Maternal imprinting on cognition markers of wild type and transgenic Alzheimer's disease model mice

The risk of suffering from Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is higher in individuals from AD-affected mothers. The purpose of this investigation was to study whether maternal transmission might produce AD-related alterations in progenies of mice that do not have any genotypic alteration. We used cognitively-intact mothers harbouring in heterozygosity the transgene for overexpressing the Swedish double mutant version of the human amyloid precursor protein (hAβPPswe). The phenotype of the offspring with or without the transgene resulting from crossing young Tg2576 females with wild-type males were compared with those of the offspring resulting from crossing wild-type females with Tg2576 males. The hAβPPswe-bearing offspring from Tg2576 mothers showed an aggravated AD-like phenotype. Remarkably, cognitive, immunohistochemical and some biochemical features displayed by Tg2576 heterozygous mice were also found in wild-type animals generated from Tg2576 females. This suggests the existence of a maternal imprinting in the wild-type offspring that confers a greater facility to launch an AD-like neurodegenerative cascade. Such progeny, lacking any mutant amyloid precursor protein, constitutes a novel model to study maternal transmission of AD and, even more important, to discover early risk markers that predispose to the development of AD

A multilayer service data acquisition and operation system for oceanographic ships and instrumentation networks

A new Data Acquisition and Operation System for Oceanographic ships and Instrumentation Networks has been developed by the Marine Technology Unit of the Spanish Research Vessels for their networked remote acquisition platforms. The new system built over LABVIR project background follows a Service Oriented Architecture to allow expandable access to acquired data in real time and to archived data. Several Data layers are implemented to allow data access from the more common tools and formats used in marine sciences.Peer Reviewe

Enhancer Sequence Variants and Transcription-Factor Deregulation Synergize to Construct Pathogenic Regulatory Circuits in B-Cell Lymphoma

    Get PDF
SummaryMost B-cell lymphomas arise in the germinal center (GC), where humoral immune responses evolve from potentially oncogenic cycles of mutation, proliferation, and clonal selection. Although lymphoma gene expression diverges significantly from GC B cells, underlying mechanisms that alter the activities of corresponding regulatory elements (REs) remain elusive. Here we define the complete pathogenic circuitry of human follicular lymphoma (FL), which activates or decommissions REs from normal GC B cells and commandeers enhancers from other lineages. Moreover, independent sets of transcription factors, whose expression was deregulated in FL, targeted commandeered versus decommissioned REs. Our approach revealed two distinct subtypes of low-grade FL, whose pathogenic circuitries resembled GC B or activated B cells. FL-altered enhancers also were enriched for sequence variants, including somatic mutations, which disrupt transcription-factor binding and expression of circuit-linked genes. Thus, the pathogenic regulatory circuitry of FL reveals distinct genetic and epigenetic etiologies for GC B-cell transformation

In this study, there were two objectives: a) analyzing the social networks of vegetable producers in the middle zone of San Luis Potosí, México, in order to determine their organization; and b) establishing the importance that trust has for business relations such as loaning money, asking for money or setting up a society. Surveys were applied to 35 producers, who referenced 170 names that were later concentrated into 39 producers. With the field information, symmetrical matrices were built to schematize the network structure, and three logistic regression models were formulated to establish the probability of intention for action based on trust. The results show the importance that proximity between actors has. It is concluded that different levels of trust explain the disposition to lending money, setting up a society and, to a lesser degree, asking for money on loan.

Juvenile nepropathy was diagnosed in a female Golden Retriever of three months of age, with clinical signs compatible with chronic renal failure. The diagnosis was based on the presence of persistent poorly differentiated renal tissue (immature glomeruli and tubules, and persistent mesenchyme) on histopathological examination
