In this paper we consider the Weibull distribution of two parameters , since has been widely used as a model in many areas of applications. Properties of the distribution are introduced . Estimation of the distribution parameters is obtained by the modified moments method. The estimator of the shape parameter has so complicated form and it is difficult to find the properties of estimator so approximation to the mean and variance of the estimator is made theoretically by utilizing Taylor series expansion up to second order derivative

Analgesics which currently represent the corner stone of pain treatment are one of the most widely used and abused medications all over the ‎world ‎. Since analgesics used and misused widely in Iraqi community, the possibility of complications and adverse effect development from analgesics may be significant. The purpose of this study is to assess the attitude and degree of awareness about the correct use, side effects and complication of improper use of analgesics in Baghdad community‎ and to find if there is any correlation between the miss use of analgesic and the need to extra medication or treatment as a result of analgesic adverse effect.Method: This study was a cross-sectional survey using a pre-tested self-administered questionnaire which carried out in the different community pharmacy in Baghdad .An ‎11-question ‎ questionnaire collect demographical information and attitudes to use analgesics by respondents. Results: Analgesics consumption increase with age. The majority of users, 46% reported taking analgesics for unspecified general body pain, followed by headache and other types of pain. (50.26%) of participant use analgesics frequently (more than 3 times weekly) and (57.44%) of them prefer certain type of analgesics and used it frequently. Larger percentage of analgesics recommended to Iraqi patients by a pharmacists, followed by a doctors or sometimes according to advice from a relative\ friend while only (18.46 %) were prescribed by patients themselves. Interestingly, (52.82%) of respondents have no information about the side ‎effect‎ and higher percentage of them (61%) do not adhere to doses prescribed.‎ About (11.28 %) of respondents need for hospitalization ‎, (58%) consult a physician, and  (56%) use another medicines ‎ as a result of side effects or complications of analgesics. Significant correlation confirmed between misuse of analgesics and the need for hospitalization and patients need for another medicine to treat side effects or complications of analgesics. Conclusion: Analgesics ‎ consumed widely and most of the times incorrectly by Iraqi people in Baghdad and its usage usually associated with many complications as a result of a misuse by the patients due to improper dispensing information or education provided by pharmacist or other health care providers about the correct use or side effects associated with these medications

dissertationGlobally, the subject of exosomes (defined as extracellular nano-vesicles (30 nm to 130 nm in diameter) secreted by many types of living cells and found in all body fluids, including blood, urine, and saliva) has received significant attention over the past 15 years, but with more intensive research during the last five years. The promising future of exosomes in diagnostics and therapeutics can be seen through the growing number of acceptable clinical trials using exosomes, mainly for the early-stage detection of cancer. This research on exosomes involves two projects: The first project is to characterize tumor exosomes secreted by female breast cancer cells (MCF-7) using three biophysical properties (size, mass, and density) that are correlated to one molecular property: the level of miR21, a standard cancer biomarker. Our developed approach revealed that tumor (MCF-7) exosomes are heterogeneous in miR21. The second project aims to characterize exosomes through the influence of their thermal stability. Using our approach, Time-Temperature Method (TTM), we were able to demonstrate that distinguishing tumor (MCF-7) and normal-like (MCF-10A) exosomes by their thermal stability is possible with 33% average difference and a significant statistical result (P-value < 0.001). Accordingly, our results show, for the first time to our knowledge, that exosome-thermal stability is an important biophysical property for differentiation between different populations of exosomes. The new methods and results presented in this study could, with further research, be developed into a point-of-care device for the early detection of cancer

Joint segmentation of multivariate time series with hidden process regression for human activity recognition

The problem of human activity recognition is central for understanding and predicting the human behavior, in particular in a prospective of assistive services to humans, such as health monitoring, well being, security, etc. There is therefore a growing need to build accurate models which can take into account the variability of the human activities over time (dynamic models) rather than static ones which can have some limitations in such a dynamic context. In this paper, the problem of activity recognition is analyzed through the segmentation of the multidimensional time series of the acceleration data measured in the 3-d space using body-worn accelerometers. The proposed model for automatic temporal segmentation is a specific statistical latent process model which assumes that the observed acceleration sequence is governed by sequence of hidden (unobserved) activities. More specifically, the proposed approach is based on a specific multiple regression model incorporating a hidden discrete logistic process which governs the switching from one activity to another over time. The model is learned in an unsupervised context by maximizing the observed-data log-likelihood via a dedicated expectation-maximization (EM) algorithm. We applied it on a real-world automatic human activity recognition problem and its performance was assessed by performing comparisons with alternative approaches, including well-known supervised static classifiers and the standard hidden Markov model (HMM). The obtained results are very encouraging and show that the proposed approach is quite competitive even it works in an entirely unsupervised way and does not requires a feature extraction preprocessing step

Nowadays the internet communication playing the imperative role that used to transfer large amount of cloud data in various fields and website applications. In the internet the cloud date and files for the websites transmitted through insecure channel from the sender to the receiver. In the transferring steps of data or files, the third party which called the attackers try to get an illegal access the data without any authorization. Different techniques and methods have been using by private and public sectors in order to protect sensitive cloud data from intruders because the security of electronic data is the crucial issue. Nowadays the recent problem in any website that the attacker tries to break the data confidentiality by acquiring cryptographic keys, means of coercion or backdoors in cryptographic software. The Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) algorithm is one on the most common and widely symmetric block cipher algorithm that used for encryption and decryption data nowadays. The AES algorithm has its own structure to encrypt and decrypt sensitive data that make the attackers difficult to get the real data when encrypting by AES algorithm. In our research project we use to build a local website using the NetBeans Java averments and create our database management by using MySQL language. After that we use to build securing cloud data system (SCDS) for key exposure using the AES algorithm for encrypting and decrypting our website cloud data and files. The website tested by many users that use to register and upload them own data and files using them own e-mails and the unique key that generated after completing the registration. We used to insure for the users data and files in our website by checking the process of our generated system (SCDS) and we got match results for the same files in case of encryption and decryption process

An Unsupervised Approach for Automatic Activity Recognition based on Hidden Markov Model Regression

Using supervised machine learning approaches to recognize human activities from on-body wearable accelerometers generally requires a large amount of labelled data. When ground truth information is not available, too expensive, time consuming or difficult to collect, one has to rely on unsupervised approaches. This paper presents a new unsupervised approach for human activity recognition from raw acceleration data measured using inertial wearable sensors. The proposed method is based upon joint segmentation of multidimensional time series using a Hidden Markov Model (HMM) in a multiple regression context. The model is learned in an unsupervised framework using the Expectation-Maximization (EM) algorithm where no activity labels are needed. The proposed method takes into account the sequential appearance of the data. It is therefore adapted for the temporal acceleration data to accurately detect the activities. It allows both segmentation and classification of the human activities. Experimental results are provided to demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed approach with respect to standard supervised and unsupervised classification approache
