Impact of Forecast Errors on Expansion Planning of Power Systems with a Renewables Target
This paper analyzes the impact of production forecast errors on the expansion
planning of a power system and investigates the influence of market design to
facilitate the integration of renewable generation. For this purpose, we
propose a stochastic programming modeling framework to determine the expansion
plan that minimizes system-wide investment and operating costs, while ensuring
a given share of renewable generation in the electricity supply. Unlike
existing ones, this framework includes both a day-ahead and a balancing market
so as to capture the impact of both production forecasts and the associated
prediction errors. Within this framework, we consider two paradigmatic market
designs that essentially differ in whether the day-ahead generation schedule
and the subsequent balancing re-dispatch are co-optimized or not. The main
features and results of the model set-ups are discussed using an illustrative
four-node example and a more realistic 24-node case study
Implementation of mediation in the indignity of inheriting in Spain
Following the enactment of Law 5/2012, of July 6. Act of mediation in civil and commercial matters,
in our national law to some extent developing the legal concept of mediator, but it is not the subject
of this study we know that Spain is a pluri state following the promulgation of the standard in certain
Autonomous communities have legislation in particular mediation. But in focusing on this work is the
application of mediation in the indignity happen. First for the cause being alive and the heirs tested
as intestate not to reach an agreement through mediation because there are usually family disputes,
there may be a caregiver of the person with disability can be physical, sensory or mental, with the
other heirs or heirs. So, I think that is a good tool mediation to both the deceased and the heirs both
tested as intestate find a final agreement for the cause first has the “attention due” in life and later are
not unworthy to succeed her heirs or heirs, since these also create them a social stigma. As states,
the title of the work is the application of mediation in the indignity to happen in the first chapter the
concept of unworthiness to succeed in the Spanish Civil Code is studied, as understanding mediation
should develop this legal concept before and in the second chapter as the parties attending the indignity
happen. In the third chapter the indignity happen when the person is handicapped intellectually
as may be the case in mediation, and the fourth chapter the possibility that a person involved in the
mediation suffer a mental disorder is also studied, being able to take this situation in mediation, and
finally in the fifth performance of the mediator in the indignity happen, extinction of mediation and
final settlement, as essential elements for the emergence or not a final agreement between the parties
to the conflict have studied and well the performance of the mediator in this conflict.

The agrarian cooperative system in Spain: from corporatism to the present
From the start of agricultural cooperatives in Spain in the nineteenth century, their
purpose was to group all Spanish farmers and form an agricultural community; after the
arrival of the Second Republic, an attempt was made to give a great democratic boost to
cooperatives, as well as to women’s intervention in them, although their legislation was
very short-lived. After the Spanish Civil War, the Franco government purged the members
of the cooperatives, especially those who aided in these efforts, even social-Catholic
cooperatives. The arrival of democracy and the issuance of the Spanish Constitution of
December 27, 1978, gave way to the enactment of the Law of Cooperatives of 1999, thus
initiating the legal regime of cooperatives in Spain. The Autonomous Communities also
issued their own legislations, which promoted effective equality between men and women
within the scope of the cooperative system.
Feature-driven improvement of renewable energy forecasting and trading
M. A. Muñoz, J. M. Morales, and S. Pineda, Feature-driven Improvement of Renewable Energy Forecasting and Trading, IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 2020.Inspired from recent insights into the common ground of machine learning, optimization and decision-making, this paper proposes an easy-to-implement, but effective procedure to enhance both the quality of renewable energy forecasts and the competitive edge of renewable energy producers in electricity markets with a dual-price settlement of imbalances. The quality and economic gains brought by the proposed procedure essentially stem from the utilization of valuable predictors (also known as features) in a data-driven newsvendor model that renders a computationally inexpensive linear program. We illustrate the proposed procedure and numerically assess its benefits on a realistic case study that considers the aggregate wind power production in the Danish DK1 bidding zone as the variable to be predicted and traded. Within this context, our procedure leverages, among others, spatial information in the form of wind power forecasts issued by transmission system operators (TSO) in surrounding bidding zones and publicly available in online platforms. We show that our method is able to improve the quality of the wind power forecast issued by the Danish TSO by several percentage points (when measured in terms of the mean absolute or the root mean square error) and to significantly reduce the balancing costs incurred by the wind power producer.European Research Council (ERC) under the EU Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme (grant agreement No. 755705)

Impact of Equipment Failures and Wind Correlation on Generation Expansion Planning
Generation expansion planning has become a complex problem within a
deregulated electricity market environment due to all the uncertainties
affecting the profitability of a given investment. Current expansion models
usually overlook some of these uncertainties in order to reduce the
computational burden. In this paper, we raise a flag on the importance of both
equipment failures (units and lines) and wind power correlation on generation
expansion decisions. For this purpose, we use a bilevel stochastic optimization
problem, which models the sequential and noncooperative game between the
generating company (GENCO) and the system operator. The upper-level problem
maximizes the GENCO's expected profit, while the lower-level problem simulates
an hourly market-clearing procedure, through which LMPs are determined. The
uncertainty pertaining to failures and wind power correlation are characterized
by a scenario set, and their impact on generation expansion decisions are
quantified and discussed for a 24-bus power system
