Role of the meson in photoproduction off the deuteron
Neutral kaon photoproduction off the nucleon and deuteron has been
reinvestigated by utilizing the new experimental data on both targets. An
isobar model for elementary operator and impulse approximation for the reaction
on the deuteron have been used. The available free parameters in the elementary
model have been extracted from both elementary and deuteron data. In contrast
to the elementary reaction, fitting the deuteron data requires an inclusion of
weighting factor. The result indicates that the angular distribution of the

Effect of equivalent salt deposit density on flashover voltage of contaminated insulator energized by HVDC
In Malaysia, the demand for electric power is increasing day by day due to more consumption of power in the industrial sector. Recently, the high voltage DC transmission lines are under construction near the coastal environments for transmitting the power to the all states of Malaysia. Therefore, there is a concern about the reliability of these systems especially under adverse environmental conditions due to sea salt spray contamination. This reliability of this contaminated insulator can be improved through its performance studies. For this performance study, an analytical expression between flashover voltage and ESDD of the contaminated insulator has been proposed using Dimensional Analysis technique. Electroweak quark-lepton symmetry and weak topological-charge confinement in the Standard Model with Dirac neutrinos
The standard electroweak model with Dirac neutrinos is extended by way of the
principles of electroweak quark-lepton symmetry and weak topological-charge
confinement to account for quark-lepton charge relations which, if not
accidental, are indicative of charge structures. A mixing in quarks and leptons
of underlying integer local charges with integer weak topological charges
associated with an additive group Z_3, fixed by the anomaly cancellation
requirement, is discussed. It is found that the electroweak difference between
topological quarks and leptons is the nonequivalence between the topological
vacua of their weak field configurations, produced by a four-instanton which
carries the topological charge, induces the universal fractional piece of
charge distinguishing quarks from leptons, and breaks the underlying symmetry.
The constituent quarks of the standard model appear as coming from topological
quarks, via the weak four-instanton event. Dual transitions occur for leptons.
It is shown that several other fundamental problems left open in the standard
electroweak model with Dirac neutrinos are solved: the one-to-one
correspondence between quark and lepton flavors, the existence of three
generations, the conservation and ungauging of B-L, the electric charge

String Fields and the Standard Model
The Cremmer-Scherk mechanism is generalised in a non-Abelian context. In the
presence of the Higgs scalars of the standard model it is argued that fields
arising from the low energy effective string action may contribute to the mass
generation of the observed vector bosons that mediate the electroweak
interactions and that future analyses of experimental data should consider the
possibility of string induced radiative corrections to the Weinberg angle

Updated Values of Running Quark and Lepton Masses
Reliable values of quark and lepton masses are important for model building
at a fundamental energy scale, such as the Fermi scale M_Z \approx 91.2 GeV and
the would-be GUT scale \Lambda_GUT \sim 2 \times 10^16 GeV. Using the latest
data given by the Particle Data Group, we update the running quark and
charged-lepton masses at a number of interesting energy scales below and above
M_Z. In particular, we take into account the possible new physics scale (\mu
\sim 1 TeV) to be explored by the LHC and the typical seesaw scales (\mu \sim
10^9 GeV and \mu \sim 10^12 GeV) which might be relevant to the generation of
neutrino masses. For illustration, the running masses of three light Majorana
neutrinos are also calculated. Our up-to-date table of running fermion masses
are expected to be very useful for the study of flavor dynamics at various

Phenomenology on the QCD dipole picture revisited
We perform an adjust to the most recent structure function data, considering
the QCD dipole picture applied to ep scattering. The structure function F2 at
small x and intermediate Q2 can be described by the model containing an
economical number of free-parameters, which encodes the hard Pomeron physics.
The longitudinal structure function and the gluon distribution are predicted
without further adjustments. The data description is effective, whereas a

Nondifferentiable Dynamic: Two Examples
Some nondifferentiable quantities (for example, the metric signature) can be
the independent physical degrees of freedom. It is supposed that in quantum
gravity these degrees of freedom can fluctuate. Two examples of such quantum
fluctuation are considered: a quantum interchange of the sign of two components
of the 5D metric and a quantum fluctuation between Euclidean and Lorentzian
metrics. The first case leads to a spin-like structure on the throat of
composite wormhole and to a possible inner structure of the string. The second
case leads to a quantum birth of the non-singular Euclidean Universe with
frozen dimension. The probability for such quantum fluctuations is
connected with an algorithmical complexity of the Einstein equations.Comment: essential changes: the initial equations in section III are changed,

nonsingular Universe with the matter (electromagnetic field=nondiagonal

Top-BESS model and its phenomenology
We introduce the top-BESS model which is the effective description of the
strong electroweak symmetry breaking with a single new SU(2)_L+R triplet vector
resonance. The model is a modification of the BESS model in the fermion sector.
The triplet couples to the third generation of quarks only. This approach
reflects a possible extraordinary role of the top quark in the mechanism of
electroweak symmetry breaking. The low-energy limits on the model parameters
found provide hope for finding sizable signals in the LHC Drell-Yan processes
as well as in the s-channel production processes at the ILC. However, there are
regions of the model parameter space where the interplay of the direct and
indirect fermion couplings can hide the resonance peak in a scattering process
even though the resonance exists and couples directly to top and bottom quarks.Comment: published in Physical Review D, minor changes in text, 21 pages, 37

FastJet is a C++ package that provides a broad range of jet finding and
analysis tools. It includes efficient native implementations of all widely used
2-to-1 sequential recombination jet algorithms for pp and e+e- collisions, as
well as access to 3rd party jet algorithms through a plugin mechanism,
including all currently used cone algorithms. FastJet also provides means to
facilitate the manipulation of jet substructure, including some common boosted
heavy-object taggers, as well as tools for estimation of pileup and
underlying-event noise levels, determination of jet areas and subtraction or
