    Schwebfliegen (Diptera: Syrphidae) spielen eine bedeutende Rolle in der biologischen Bekämpfung von landwirtschaftlichen Schädlingen sowie als Bestäuber. Hier präsentieren wir faunistische Daten über Syrphidae aus der West Azarbaijan Provinz, Nordwest-Iran. Insgesamt wurden 34 Arten aus 21 Gattungen und 2 Unterfamilien (Milesiinae und Syrphinae) gesammelt und determiniert.StichwörterDiptera, Syrphidae, hoverflies, fauna, West Azarbaijan, Iran.Hoverflies (Diptera: Syrphidae) play an efficient role in biological control of agricultural pests and also in pollination.     Laboratory Bioassay of Iranian Isolates of Entomopathogenic Fungus Metarhizium anisopliae (Metsch.) Sorokin (Ascomycota: Hypocreales) against two Species of Storage Pest

    The susceptibility of adults of Tribolium castaneum Herbst (Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae) and Oryzaephilus surinamensis L. (Coleoptera: Silvanidae) to three Iranian Isolates of the entomopathogenic fungi Metarhizium anisopliae (Metsch.) Sorokin was evaluated through bioassays with direct immersion under laboratory conditions. For each isolates, five aqueous suspensions were prepared in a logarithmic series in Tween 80 (0.05% v/v). Results showed that adult of both species were susceptible to all isolates of M. anisopliae. For all three isolates, mortality percentage of the two species increased with increasing conidial concentration and significant difference was observed between concentrations. The corrected cumulative mortality of adult of O. surinamensis 10 days after immersion ranged from 12.38 to 85.84%, 18.6 to 62.83% and 10.63 to 77.87% for different concentrations of DEMI001, IRAN 715C and IRAN 1018C, respectively. These amounts for T. castaneum varied from 31.07 to 74.78%, 26.02 to 75.61% and 23.33 to 89.99% for different concentrations of DEMI001, IRAN 715C and IRAN 1018C, respectively. The parameters of probit analysis demonstrated non-overlap of 95% confidence limits of LC50 and LC95 and significant difference was observed among three isolates tested against each insect. The lowest and the highest LC50 and LC95 values were observed in the isolates DEMI001 for O. surinamensis (3/1Ă—105 and 1/5Ă—108) and IRAN 715C for T. castaneum (6.2Ă—108 and 6.9Ă—1014), respectively. This observation highlights the importance and need of screening for more virulent isolates against storage pests for use in the management of these pests

    Heteroptera (Insecta) fauna of Iranian cotton fields and surrounding grasslands

    The Heteroptera fauna (Insecta) of Iranian cotton fields and surrounding areas is studied. A total of 103 species from 14 families were found. Among the collected material, 7 species are new records for Iranian fauna: Cryptostemma (Pachycoleus) gracile Josifov 1967, Cryptostemma (Pachycoleus) utnapishtim Linnavuori 1984, Systelloderes utukhengal Linnavuori 1984, Phytocoris (Eckerleinius) paghmanus Linnavuori 1974, Himacerus (Himacerus) apterus (Fabricius 1798), Nabis (Dolichonabis) limbatus Dahlbom 1851 and Reduvius osiris Kirkaldy 1909.La faune des Hétéroptères (Insecta) de champs de coton iraniens est étudiée.     Abstract: This faunistic paper deals with species diversity of nine subfamilies of Braconidae (Hymenoptera) of Iran. A total of 23 species within 18 genera were collected and identified as new records for the fauna of Iran: Agathidinae (two species), Alysiinae (two species), Aphidiinae (one species), Braconinae (one species), Cenocoelionidae (two species), Euphorinae (four species), Microgastrinae (seven species), Opiinae (three species) and Sigalphinae (one species). Additionally, updated checklist of Iranian Braconidae included 861 species is represented in this checklist

    This paper deals with a faunistic survey on 6 families of Coleoptera including Bostrichidae, Cantharidae, Latridiidae, Malachiidae, Oedemeridae, and Ptinidae from some regions of Iran. In total 4 species within 3 genera of Bostrichidae, 11 species within 5 genera of Cantharidae, 5 species within 5 genera of Latridiidae, 5 species within 3 genera of Malachiidae, 10 species within 5 genera of Oedemeridae, and 4 species within 4 genera of Ptinidae were collected and identified. Four species (Latridiidae: 1 species; Malachiidae: 1 species; Oedemeridae: 1 species; Ptinidae: 1 species) are new records for the fauna of Iran.Este trabajo trata sobre un estudio faunístico de 6 familias de Coleoptera, incluyendo Bostrichidae, Cantharidae, Latridiidae, Malachiidae, Oedemeridae y Ptinidae de algunas regiones de Irán.
