    A framework for business model with strategic innovation in ICT firms: the importance of information

    Purpose – What is a business model framework with the strategic innovation approach in the SMEs of ICT industry? What are the components of this model and the relations between them? Business model is a logical response to how a business can create value. Changing business environment means that business models are rapidly growing; accordingly, innovation is no longer optional. However, innovation is important in general, but the kind of innovation that is widely and directly dependent on business model will be quite critical for all parts of the organization. In fact, Business Model Innovation is an exquisite technic to create, deliver, and earn value by changing one or more components of a typical business model. Design/methodology/approach – The present paper focuses upon SMEs in ICT. Grounded Theory had used for this purpose with 15 interviews. Findings – Emerging market is the market in which commercial exchanges of a particular industry between the countries are relatively new but with great investment attractiveness and also a high potential to grow (such as Iran).Since the ICT industry of Iran is a leader industry, and the country itself is an emerging market, the main purpose of this study is to provide a framework for designing an innovative information-based business to help fledgling businesses development in ICT industry of Iran. Originality/value – The purpose for writing the article is to help accurate and distinct understanding of the business model concept and critical steps in designing an appropriate business model. The conducted studies that simultaneously dealt with the business model and strategic innovations are few and there was no research observed in Persian sources by the time the proposal was written

    Sex Cord-Gonadal Stromal Tumor of the Rete Testis

    A 34-year-old tetraplegic patient with suppurative epididymitis was found on follow-up examination and ultrasonography to have a testicular mass. The radical orchiectomy specimen contained an undifferentiated spindled sex cord-stromal tumor arising in the rete testis. Testicular sex cord-stromal tumors are far less common than germ cell neoplasms and are usually benign. The close relationship between sex cords and ductules of the rete testis during development provides the opportunity for these uncommon tumors to arise anatomically within the rete tesis. This undifferentiated sex cord-stromal tumor, occurring in a previously unreported location, is an example of an unusual lesion mimicking an intratesticular malignant neoplasm

    Imprinting the complex dielectric permittivity of liquids into the spintronic terahertz emission

    We report an approach in time-domain terahertz (THz) spectroscopy for measuring the dielectric response of liquids based on inherent properties of spintronic THz emitters (STEs). The THz electric field radiated from the STE is inversely proportional to the sum of the complex refractive indices of the media surrounding the thin metallic stack of the STE and the stack's conductivity. We demonstrate that by bringing a liquid in contact with the emitter, its complex refractive index and accordingly its dielectric response are imprinted into the radiated electromagnetic field from the emitter. We use water as the test liquid and ascertain its dielectric loss and permittivity in the range of ∼0.3–15 THz

    Radiologic Manifestations of Patients with Smear Positive Pulmonary Tuberculosis in Zabol

    Abstract: Background & Aims: Tuberculosis is one of the most important causes of mortality in the world and if it is not treated, 50 – 65% of patients would die in five years. Chest X-ray has an important role in the diagnosis of TB and early diagnosis and treatment prevent tuberculosis transmission. In this study we evaluated radiologic manifestations of patients with smear positive pulmonary tuberculosis in Zabol. Method: In this cross – sectional study, 325 patients with smear positive pulmonary tuberculosis from March 2004 to March 2005 were evaluated. Radiologic findings were recorded in a questionnaire and analyzed. Results: From 325 patients with smear positive pulmonary tuberculosis, 116(35.7%) were male and 209(64.3%) were female.The most frequent involved site was left upper lobe [175(53.8%)] followed by right upper lobe [134(41.2%)]. The most frequent radiologic finding was bronchopneumonia with 242 cases (74.4%). Patchy consolidation in 99 patients (30.4%), cavitary lesion in 68 ones (20.9%) and pleural effusion in 35 patients (10.7%) were observed. In 8 cases (2.4%) CXRs were normal. After six months treatment and according to CXRs, 90 patients (27.7%) recovered completely, 169 cases (52%) had slight recovery and 66 patients (20.3%) did not have any changes. Conclusion: Pulmonary upper lobes were the most frequent involved sites. Since pulmonary TB has different radiologic manifestations and chest X-ray has an important role in the early diagnosis and preventing transmission, careful attention to radiologic manifestations especially in upper lobes and considering TB as one of the differential diagnosis are highly recommended.     The State of Food Insecurity and Its Relationship with the Physical and Mental Health of the Elderly (Sanandaj, 2019)

    Background and Objective: Food insecurity is defined as limited or uncertain access to adequate and healthy food in terms of nutrition or limited ability to obtain food in socially acceptable ways, which can affect the health of the elderly. The aim of this research is to investigate the state of food insecurity and the factors affecting it and its role in physical and mental health in the elderly. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted on 550 elderly people aged 60 years and older who referred to 10 health centers in Sanandaj, and were selected via random cluster sampling. Demographic information questionnaire, HFIAS food security questionnaire (8 questions with a score range of 0 to 24) and Goldberg General Health Questionnaire (28 questions with 4 subscales) were completed and reviewed. Findings: In this study, 324 elderly women and 224 men were evaluated, 75.6% were married and 73.6% were illiterate. The findings showed that 59.1% (325 people) of the elderly had some degree of food insecurity and severe insecurity was observed in 62 people (11.3%). Food insecurity in people with moderate to severe physical symptoms (OR=7.33), anxiety and sleep disorder (OR=8.63), functional disorder (OR=6.78), depression (OR=21.12) and in general, moderate to severe general health disorder (OR=11.85) was seen more. In addition, food insecurity, not being married, being illiterate, living alone, and low income were observed to a greater extent in women. Conclusion: The results of the study showed that the prevalence of food insecurity among the elderly in Sanandaj is significant and is related to factors such as general, physical and mental health disorders

    Distributed control scheme for voltage regulation in smart grids

    The current uncertainty about oil and gas prices and their resources, and future energy concerns, smart grids lead to further development. In this paper, a two way communication-based distributed control for voltage regulation in smart grid is proposed. Moreover, 16-bus distribution feeders system is modeled by real time simulation in MATLAB/Simulink in order to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme. The results are evidence for capability of proposed system to regulate the voltage in smart distribution feeders

    Terahertz time-domain and infrared Fourier-transform spectroscopy techniques are used to investigate the properties of H2O@C60 endofullerene in 6 K – 300 K temperature interval. A number of absorption lines associated with rotational transitions of water molecule entrapped inside C60 cages are observed and assigned. Fitting the resonances with Lorenzian lineshapes allowed us to obtain temperature dependencies of absorption lines parameters – frequency, strength and damping

    Rotational coherence of encapsulated ortho and para water in fullerene-C<sub>60</sub> revealed by time-domain terahertz spectroscopy

    We resolve the real-time coherent rotational motion of isolated water molecules encapsulated in fullerene-C60 cages by time-domain terahertz (THz) spectroscopy. We employ single-cycle THz pulses to excite the low-frequency rotational motion of water and measure the subsequent coherent emission of electromagnetic waves by water molecules. At temperatures below ~ 100&nbsp;K, C60 lattice vibrational damping is mitigated and the quantum dynamics of confined water are resolved with a markedly long rotational coherence, extended beyond 10&nbsp;ps. The observed rotational transitions agree well with low-frequency rotational dynamics of single water molecules in the gas phase. However, some additional spectral features with their major contribution at ~2.26 THz are also observed which may indicate interaction between water rotation and the C60 lattice phonons. We also resolve the real-time change of the emission pattern of water after a sudden cooling to 4&nbsp;K, signifying the conversion of ortho-water to para-water over the course of 10s hours. The observed long coherent rotational dynamics of isolated water molecules confined in C60 makes this system an attractive candidate for future quantum technology
