A data and computation center for helioseismology has been set up at the Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research in Germany to prepare for the SDO mission. Here we present the system infrastructure and the scientific aims of this project, which is funded through grants from the German Aerospace Center and the European Research Council

A comparative study of Iranians and Indians about the types of domestic violence

The present study focuses on the different kinds of violence Iranian and Indian have observed during their life. For this purpose, four hundred Iranian and Indian women were chosen based on random sampling in Iran and India. After selecting sample, domestic violence questionnaire was given to discover the kind of violence the selected participants have experienced during the lifetime. After the data were collected, Pearson correlation coefficient was used for data analysis. Results showed that most of the violence was related to sexual violence, as well as physical abuse. Regarding the difference between Iranians and Indians physical abuse and emotional abuse were common more among Iranian victims and verbal and financial violence was reported to be more common among Indian victims

EFFECTIVENESS OF E-BOOK IN IMPROVING OMANI KINDERGARTEN KIDS COMPREHENSION AND MOTIVATION TOWARDS STORIES READING

Nowadays technology became an affective and worthy tool for learning and acquisition of knowledge. Although e-books have many facilities and tools which motivate children to read and develop their reading skills, most of the early childhood institutions in Oman are not using e-books for teaching children. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the difference between using e-books and printed books to motivate kindergarteners to read and enhancing their understanding of the text. This study compares between experimental group which use e-books and control group which use printed books. Findings show that there are no significant differences between the two groups with regard to motivation. However, children who read from paper books got better scores in the comprehension test. The study concludes with some future recommendations.  Article visualizations

Radio over fiber system based on a hybrid link for next generation of optical fiber communication

    Get PDF
Radio over fiber technology will play an important role in solving problems facing wireless technology. Envisaging a global village, people could transmit and receive “anytime, anywhere, and anything”. In addition, the explosive growth in internet applications such as the World Wide Web, demonstrates the tremendous increase in bandwidth and low power that the coming world of multimedia interactive applications will require from future networks. ROF technology uses multicarrier modulation like orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM), which provides an opportunity of having an increased in bandwidth together with an affordable cost and this idea has recently become a suitable topic for many research works. On the other hand, SAC-OCDMA (Spectral Amplitude Coding Optical Code Division Multiple Access) technique is able to enhance the data rate of system and increase the number of user.  In this paper we introduce a ROF link using a hybrid OFDM/SAC-OCDMA technique

Do Iranian and Indian Violence Victims Experience the Same Type of Domestic Violence?

Abstract: The present study seeks to report the different types of violence Iranian and Indian violence victims have experienced during their life. For this purpose, 400 Iranian and Indian women were randomly selected from Iran and India. Domestic violence questionnaire was implemented to find out the type of violence experienced by the selected participants. After data collection, Contingency coefficient analysis was used to find out the relationship between country and selected parameters. Results indicated that most of the violence reported was sexual violence followed by physical abuse, however, physical abuse and emotional abuse was found to be more in Iranian victims and verbaland financial violence was found to be more among Indian victims. Majority of the respondents were sufferers of violence more than 3 years. Regarding the highest amount of violence, partner involvement was reported to be the first, which was more in Ira

Fractional Statistics in terms of the r-Generalized Fibonacci Sequences

We develop the basis of the two dimensional generalized quantum statistical systems by using results on rr-generalized Fibonacci sequences. According to the spin value ss of the 2d-quasiparticles, we distinguish four classes of quantum statistical systems indexed by s=0,1/2:mod(1) s=0,1/2:mod(1), s=1/M:mod(1)s=1/M:mod(1), s=n/M:mod(1)s=n/M:mod(1) and 0s1:mod(1)0\leq s\leq 1:mod(1). For quantum gases of quasiparticles with s=1/M:mod(1)s=1/M:mod(1), M2,M\geq 2,, we show that the statistical weights densities ρM\rho_M are given by the integer hierarchies of Fibonacci sequences. This is a remarkable result which envelopes naturally the Fermi and Bose statistics and may be thought of as an alternative way to the Haldane interpolating statistical method.Comment: Late

Plasmon-driven creation of magnetic topological structures

In the present research, we demonstrate the usage of plasmonic effects in thin film structures to control magnetic topological textures, specifically skyrmions and skyrmioniums. We investigate numerically the generation and alteration of these topological structures caused by hemisphere gold nanoparticle placed over a magnetic layer coated with a dielectric material. The electromagnetic and photothermal models are used to clarify the processes of producing heat and absorption, and the results were implemented in micromagnetic formalism to reveal the dynamics of magnetization under various conditions. Our findings demonstrate the significance of the laser pulse duration and the contact area between nanoparticles and the underlying magnetic layer in forming topological textures. In particular, we show how to generate a single skyrmion, multiple skyrmions, and skyrmioniums, and how to dynamically transition between these states. These results highlight the possibility of manipulating magnetic textures by using plasmonic effects, which presents significant opportunities for spintronics and non-conventional computer applications
