Analisis Faktor-faktor yang Mempengaruhi Kinerja Karyawan PT. Bio Nusantara Teknologi Jl. Lintas Utara Km. 19 Bengkulu Tengah
Merta Kusuma, Tm. Said:The purpose of this research is to know the influence of motivation, work environment, selection, and training toward employee's performance in PT BIO Nusantara Teknologi. Population of this research was 550 permanent employees in PT BIO Nusantara Teknologi. Sampling techniques that used in this research were Nonprobability and Insidental sampling. To determined the sample used Solvin formula, so there was 84 people as samples. Data collection techniques were observation questionnaire, and interview. Data analysis techniques used by researcher were qualitative and quantitative analysis which consists of a multiple regression model and coefficient of determination. The result of this research used regression test Y= 6.003 + 0.230 X1 + 0.134 X2 + 0.188 X3 + 0.232 X4. While the result of determination R = 0.472 and R2 = 0223. T test significant level < 0,05 so, there was significant influence, if significant level > 0,05 so, there was not significant influence, the result of each t sig was 0,021 for motivation variable, 0,034 for work environment variable, 0,045 for selection, and 0,049 for training variable. The four variables were < 0,05 so there was significant influence. Next, F test, if F sig < 0,05 and (Fanova > F table) so, Ho was rejected ad H1 was accepted, the result of F sig=(0,000) < 0,05 and (5,673>2,337)so, the regression model can be used to predict employee's performance variable or it can be said that the motivation variable (X1), work environment(X2), selection(X3), and training(X4) were influenced employee's performance(Y) together in PT BIO Nusantara Teknologi
RESPONSE OF GROWTH, ESSENTIAL OIL CONTENT AND ITS CONSTITUENT'S OF PLECTRANTHUS AMBOINICUS TO IRON AND/OR UREA FOLIAR APPLICATION UNDER SALINE IRRIGATION
Objective: To study the response of Plectranthus amboinicus plants to iron and/or urea foliar application using tap water and Nacl saline water for irrigation, a pot experiment was conducted during two successive seasons (2014 and 2015) under the natural conditions of the greenhouse of the National Research Center, Dokki, Giza, Egypt.Methods: Plectranthus amboinicus cuttings were transplanted in the pots in February of each season. After one month, seedlings were irrigated with (2 levels: Tap water (0.40 dsm-1), and Nacl solution (4 dsm-1)) and FeUrea (4 levels: None, EDTA (200 ppm), urea (1000 ppm), and mixture of urea (1000 ppm) and Fe EDTA (200 ppm)) were applied one month from transplanting. The foliar application treatments were sprayed at 60, 90, 120 and 150 d from transplanting. Plant fresh mass (g/plant) and proline content were determined in the first and second cuts after 120 and 180 d from transplanting, respectively. The essential oil was obtained by hydrodistillation and essential oil % was expressed as ml 100 g/fresh herb. The chemical composition of the essential oil was studied using GC-MS and compounds were identified based on their mass spectra and literature.Results: Repeated measures analysis of the data showed significant effects of irrigation and iron/urea on fresh weight of herb, essential oil (%), oil yield, and proline in both first and second cuts. Plectranthus amboinicus plants sprayed with urea/or iron under tap and Nacl saline conditions were better than the control (unsprayed) plants. While saline irrigation decreased fresh weight, essential oil and oil yield, it increased proline; and 200Fe+1000Urea gave significantly higher proline for both tap and Nacl irrigations. Within each irrigation, the highest fresh mass and oil yield were obtained from 200Fe+1000Urea. Fresh mass for tap irrigation was significantly higher during the second cut than during the first cut, but it was the opposite for oil yield. This research demonstrated that application of iron and/or urea decreases salinity stress, and increases proline content. The GC/MS analysis revealed the major components of Plectranthus amboinicus to be p-cymene, carvacrol, (+)-epibicyclosesquiphellandrene, β-cadinene and α-cadinol.Conclusion: It may be concluded that Plectranthus amboinicus is tolerant to Nacl irrigations, thus we may recommend its cultivation in slain soil of Egypt. Foliar spraying with iron and/or urea under these conditions could be much more efficient than the not application of nutrients. So, we recommended that foliar application of iron and/or urea to raise the salt stress tolerance of Plectranthus amboinicus
PEMBERDAYAAN MASYARAKAT MELALUI KREATIVITAS LOMBA MEWARNAI TINGKAT SEKOLAH DASAR
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menstimulasi perkembangan anak usia dini pada kegiatan mewarnai. Ruang lingkup yang diambil adalah menstimulasi perkembangan anak usia dini dengan kegiatan mewarnai. Kegiatan mewarnai yang merupakan salah satu kegiatan yang disukai anak usia dini. Kegiatan mewarnai yang menyenangkan dan sederhana ini dapat membantu perkembangan anak usia dini karena kegiatan mewarnai dapat dijadikan sebagai kegiatan mengekspresikan diri anak, mengenalkan perbedaan warna pada anak, meningkatkan konsentrasi anak, mengembangkan kemampuan motorik anak, melatih kesabaran anak, dan merangsang kreativitas anak sejak dini. Dengan melakukan aktivitas seperti kegiatan mewarnai yang dapat menstimulasi perkembangan anak usia dini. Pada pengabdian ini akan dilaksanakan kegiatan mewarnai yang digelar dalam bentuk perlombaan. Kegiatan tersebut dilaksanakan di SDN 1 di Kabupaten Aceh Bireuen. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah peserta didik SDN 1 Kabupaten Aceh Bireuen. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik yang digunakan dalam analisis data adalah reduksi data, penyajian data, dan verifikasi atau penarikan kesimpulan. Berdasarkan analisis data Penelitian dan Pembahasan maka diperoleh hasil bahwa menstimulasi perkembangan anak usia dini dengan Kegiatan mewarnai sangatlah berdampak bagi perkembangan anak termasuk pada setiap aspek perkembangan seperti kognitif, motorik, sosial emosional dan seni. Pada proses pelaksanaan kegiatan mewarnai melalui perlombaan terdapat beberapa pengalaman untuk peserta didik seperti melatih kesabaran, meningkatkan konsentrasi, fisik motorik, dan meningkatkan kreativitas anak. Faktor pendukung pelaksanaan perlombaan mewarnai meliputi kertas bergambar untuk diwarnai anak dan krayon untuk masing-masing anak. Kesimpulan dari pengabdian ini adalah bahwa orang tua Memahami pentingnya perkembangan anak pada setiap aspek perkembangan dan manfaatnya dari kegiatan mewarnai. Melalui Kegiatan mewarnai dapat menstimulasi setiap aspek perkembangan
The FLASSH study: protocol for a randomised controlled trial evaluating falls prevention after stroke and two sub-studies
This randomised controlled trial aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a multi-factorial falls prevention program for stroke survivors who are at high risk of falling when they return home after rehabilitation. Intervention will consist of a home exercise program as well as individualised falls prevention and injury minimisation strategies based on identified risk factors for falls. Additionally, two sub-studies will be implemented in order to explore other key areas related to falls in this population. The first of these is a longitudinal study evaluating the relationship between fear of falling, falls and function over twelve months, and the second evaluates residual impairment in gait stability and obstacle crossing twelve months after discharge from rehabilitation
Choriocarcinoma in a 73-year-old woman: a case report and review of the literature
<p>Abstract</p> <p>Introduction</p> <p>Choriocarcinoma is a highly malignant tumor of trophoblastic origin. Most cases present within one year of the antecedent pregnancy (molar or non-molar). However, very rarely, choriocarcinoma can develop from germ cells or from dedifferentiation of endometrial carcinoma into choriocarcinoma. This article concerns a case of choriocarcinoma developing 38 years after the patient's last pregnancy and 23 years after menopause.</p> <p>Case presentation</p> <p>A 73-year-old African-American woman presented with a three-week history of vaginal bleeding. A vaginal mass was seen on pelvic examination. Ultrasonography showed a thickened complex endometrial echo. Her β-human chorionic gonadotrophin level was found to be elevated (2,704,040 mIU/mL). Vaginal and uterine biopsies were suggestive of choriocarcinoma. Immunohistochemistry tests were positive for β-human chorionic gonadotrophin as well as cytokeratin and negative for octamer binding transcription factor 3/4 and α-fetoprotein, supporting the diagnosis of choriocarcinoma. A combination of etoposide, methotrexate, and dactinomycin, followed by cyclophosphamide and vincristine (the so-called EMA/CO regimen) was initiated. After seven cycles of chemotherapy, her β-human chorionic gonadotrophin level dropped below 5 mIU/mL. Our patient is being followed up at our oncology institute.</p> <p>Conclusions</p> <p>We report an extremely rare case of choriocarcinoma arising 23 years after menopause. A postmenopausal woman presenting with vaginal bleed from a mass and β-human chorionic gonadotrophin elevation should be evaluated by immunohistochemical analysis to rule out the possibilities of a germ cell origin of the tumor or dedifferentiation of an epithelial tumor. Absence of octamer binding transcription factor 3/4, α-fetoprotein and CD-30 staining helps in exclusion of most germ cell tumors. DNA polymorphism studies can be used to differentiate between gestational and non-gestational tumor origin. These require fresh tissue samples and are time consuming. Finally, the effective first-line therapy for β-human chorionic gonadotrophin-producing high-risk gestational as well as non-gestational trophoblastic tumors is combination chemotherapy (the EMA/CO regimen). Therefore, treatment should be commenced when a potential diagnosis of metastatic trophoblastic tumor is being considered.</p

Our results provide a novel mechanistic insight into the development of acquired resistance to EGFR antibody-based therapy in colorectal cancer cells and justify further investigations on the therapeutic benefits of pan-HER family inhibitors in the treatment of colorectal cancer patients once acquired resistance to EGFR antibody-based therapy is developed
Craniodental Morphology and Systematics of a New Family of Hystricognathous Rodents (Gaudeamuridae) from the Late Eocene and Early Oligocene of Egypt
BACKGROUND: Gaudeamus is an enigmatic hystricognathous rodent that was, until recently, known solely from fragmentary material from early Oligocene sites in Egypt, Oman, and Libya. Gaudeamus' molars are similar to those of the extant cane rat Thryonomys, and multiple authorities have aligned Gaudeamus with Thryonomys to the exclusion of other living and extinct African hystricognaths; recent phylogenetic analyses have, however, also suggested affinities with South American caviomorphs or Old World porcupines (Hystricidae). METHODOLOGY/PRINCIPAL FINDINGS: Here we describe the oldest known remains of Gaudeamus, including largely complete but crushed crania and complete upper and lower dentitions. Unlike younger Gaudeamus species, the primitive species described here have relatively complex occlusal patterns, and retain a number of plesiomorphic features. Unconstrained parsimony analysis nests Gaudeamus and Hystrix within the South American caviomorph radiation, implying what we consider to be an implausible back-dispersal across the Atlantic Ocean to account for Gaudeamus' presence in the late Eocene of Africa. An analysis that was constrained to recover the biogeographically more plausible hypothesis of caviomorph monophyly does not place Gaudeamus as a stem caviomorph, but rather as a sister taxon of hystricids. CONCLUSIONS/SIGNIFICANCE: We place Gaudeamus species in a new family, Gaudeamuridae, and consider it likely that the group originated, diversified, and then went extinct over a geologically brief period of time during the latest Eocene and early Oligocene in Afro-Arabia. Gaudeamurids are the only known crown hystricognaths from Afro-Arabia that are likely to be aligned with non-phiomorph members of that clade, and as such provide additional support for an Afro-Arabian origin of advanced stem and basal crown members of Hystricognathi
Evaluating the effects of increasing physical activity to optimize rehabilitation outcomes in hospitalized older adults (MOVE Trial): Study protocol for a randomized controlled trial
Background: Older adults who have received inpatient rehabilitation often have significant mobility disability at discharge. Physical activity levels in rehabilitation are also low. It is hypothesized that providing increased physical activity to older people receiving hospital-based rehabilitation will lead to better mobility outcomes at discharge. Methods/Design: A single blind, parallel-group, multisite randomized controlled trial with blinded assessment of outcome and intention-to-treat analysis. The cost effectiveness of the intervention will also be examined. Older people (age >60 years) undergoing inpatient rehabilitation to improve mobility will be recruited from geriatric rehabilitation units at two Australian hospitals. A computer-generated blocked stratified randomization sequence will be used to assign 198 participants in a 1:1 ratio to either an 'enhanced physical activity' (intervention) group or a 'usual care plus' (control) group for the duration of their inpatient stay. Participants will receive usual care and either spend time each week performing additional physical activities such as standing or walking (intervention group) or performing an equal amount of social activities that have minimal impact on mobility such as card and board games (control group). Self-selected gait speed will be measured using a 6-meter walk test at discharge (primary outcome) and 6 months follow-up (secondary outcome). The study is powered to detect a 0.1 m/sec increase in self-selected gait speed in the intervention group at discharge. Additional measures of mobility (Timed Up and Go, De Morton Mobility Index), function (Functional Independence Measure) and quality of life will be obtained as secondary outcomes at discharge and tertiary outcomes at 6 months follow-up. The trial commenced recruitment on 28 January 2014. Discussion: This study will evaluate the efficacy and cost effectiveness of increasing physical activity in older people during inpatient rehabilitation. These results will assist in the development of evidenced-based rehabilitation programs for this population. A cross sectional evaluation of an alcohol intervention targeting young university students
BACKGROUND: Hazardous drinking has been found to be higher among young university students compared to their non-university peers. Although young university students are exposed to new and exciting experiences, including greater availability and emphasis on social functions involving alcohol there are few multi strategy comprehensive interventions aimed at reducing alcohol-related harms. METHODS: Random cross sectional online surveys were administered to 18-24 year old students studying at the main campus of a large metropolitan university in Perth, Western Australia. Prior to the completion of the second survey an alcohol intervention was implemented on campus. Completed surveys were received from 2465 (Baseline; T1) and 2422 (Post Year 1: T2) students. Students who consumed alcohol in the past 12 months were categorised as low risk or hazardous drinkers using the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT). Due to the cross sectional nature of the two samples two-tailed two-proportion z-test and two sample t-tests were employed to determine statistical significance between the two time periods for categorical and continuous variables respectively. RESULTS: At T1 and T2 89.1 % and 87.2 % of the total sample reported drinking alcohol in the past month respectively. Hazardous levels of alcohol consumption reduced slightly between T1 (39.7 %) and T2 (38 %). In both time periods hazardous drinkers reported significantly higher mean scores for experienced harm, second-hand harm and witnessed harm scores compared to low risk drinkers (p <0.001). Hazardous drinkers were significantly more likely to experience academic problems due to their alcohol consumption and to report more positive alcohol expectations than low risk drinkers at both time periods (p <0.001). CONCLUSIONS: Harms and problems for students who report hazardous drinking are of concern and efforts should be made to ensure integrated and targeted strategies reach higher risk students and focus on specific issues such as driving while intoxicated and alcohol related unplanned sexual activity. However there is also a need for universal strategies targeting all students and low risk drinkers as they too are exposed to alcohol harms within the drinking and social environment. Changing the culture of the university environment is a long term aim and to effect change a sustained combination of organisational actions, partnerships and educational actions is required
Phase II study of the farnesyltransferase inhibitor R115777 in advanced melanoma (CALGB 500104)
BACKGROUND: Multiple farnesylated proteins are involved in signal transduction in cancer. Farnesyltransferase inhibitors (FTIs) have been developed as a strategy to inhibit the function of these proteins. As FTIs inhibit proliferation of melanoma cell lines, we undertook a study to assess the impact of a FTI in advanced melanoma. As farnesylated proteins are also important for T cell activation, measurement of effects on T cell function was also pursued. METHODS: A 3-stage trial design was developed with a maximum of 40 patients and early stopping if there were no responders in the first 14, or fewer than 2 responders in the first 28 patients. Eligibility included performance status of 0–1, no prior chemotherapy, at most 1 prior immunotherapy, no brain metastases, and presence of at least 2 cutaneous lesions amenable to biopsy. R115777 was administered twice per day for 21 days of a 28-day cycle. Patients were evaluated every 2 cycles by RECIST. Blood and tumor were analyzed pre-treatment and during week 7. RESULTS: Fourteen patients were enrolled. Two patients had grade 3 toxicities, which included myelosuppression, nausea/vomiting, elevated BUN, and anorexia. There were no clinical responses. All patients analyzed showed potent inhibition of FT activity (85-98%) in tumor tissue; inhibition of phosphorylated ERK and Akt was also observed. T cells showed evidence of FT inhibition and diminished IFN-γ production. CONCLUSIONS: Despite potent target inhibition, R115777 showed no evidence of clinical activity in this cohort of melanoma patients. Inhibition of T cell function by FTIs has potential clinical implications. Clinicaltrials.gov number NCT0006012
