Karakteristik Teknis Prioritas Proses Produksi Karung Goni Plastik dengan QFD
Woven sacks made of plastic are used by various businesses. One of these business sectors that use plastic woven sacks is rice refining company. During this time, the quality of the resulting plastic woven products is still low and inconsistent. The Company experienced many problems with product defects caused by the production process. This is demonstrated by the large number of plastic woven sacks is not elastic, cannot withstand the load and tear. Troubleshooting for plastic woven products can be solved by QFD as a tool for identifying the need for good production process and connecting them with technical characteristics. The main focus of this method is to engage customers and experts in the product development process. Results of QFD would be used to improve product design. The results of this study indicate that the thread rolling process is a major cause of problems

Open windrow composting of polymers: An investigation into the rate of degradation of polyethylene
The compostability of degradable polymers under open windrow composting conditions is explored within this paper. Areas for consideration were the use of, and impacts of, degradable polyethylene (PE) sacks on the composting process and the quality of the finished compost product. These factors were investigated through polymer weight loss over the composting process, the amount of polymer residue and chemical contaminants in the finished compost product, the windrow temperature profiles and a bioassay to establish plant growth and germination levels using the final compost product. This trial also included a comparative study of the weight loss under composting conditions of two different types of ‘degradable’ polymer sacks currently on the European market: PE and a starch based product. Statistical analysis of the windrow temperature profiles has led to the development of a model, which can help to predict the expected trends in the temperature profiles of open compost windrows where the organic waste is kerbside collected using a degradable PE sack
KRAFTTERRA composite: Performance analysis of compressed earth blocks with and without cellulose pulp deriving from cement sacks recycling
This study presents part of the results of an experimental campaign on the
mechanical behaviour of Kraftterra composite. This research was developed as a framework
of collaboration between the University of Brasilia, in Brazil, and the University of Aveiro, in
Portugal. The objective of this study involves the development and the performance
evaluation of compressed earthen blocks for the construction incorporating recycled cement
sacks. Research’s main goal is the hypothesis verification that the cellulose pulp that stem
from cement sacks can be used to improve the characteristics, and particularly the
mechanical properties, of the blocks with soil as raw material. This paper presents the
Kraftterra mixture and production processes, as well as the performance analysis of
compressed earth blocks – CEBs – produced with Kraftterra regarding the compressive
strength
TCP Non-Renegable Selective Acknowledgments (NR-SACKs) and benefits for space and satellite communications
TCP is designed to tolerate reneging. This design has been challenged since (i) reneging rarely occurs in practice, and (ii) even when reneging does occur, it alone generally does not help the operating system resume normal operation when the system is starving for memory. We investigate how freeing received out-of-order PDUs from the send buffer by using Non-Renegable Selective Acknowledgments (NR-SACKs) can improve end-to-end performance. This improvement results when send buffer blocking occurs in TCP. Preliminary results for TCP NR-SACKs show that (i) TCP data transfers with NR-SACKs never perform worse than those without NR-SACKs, and (ii) NR-SACKs can improve end-to-end throughput when send buffer blocking occurs. Under certain circumstances, we observe throughput increasing by using TCP NR-SACKs as much as 15% and particularly over long-delay links such as GEO satellite links. The tradeoff for this potential gain is a change to the semantics of the TCP send buffer requiring the more complex management of non-contiguous PDUs. We investigate potential application performance gains when TCP receiver implements NR-SACKs and present empirical results on a real satellite link in the Centre National d’Études Spatiales (CNES) France’s agency responsible for shaping and implementing its space policy in Europe
Seeing Numbers
In 1890 William James listed several “elementary mental categories” that he postulated as having a natural origin. Among them, alongside the ideas of time and space, he also listed the idea of number. A symptomatic feature of Informatics as well as Cognitive Science today is the tendency not to talk so much about ideas as about their representations, either in the computer or in the brain. Taking up somewhat different perspective I will discuss the way natural numbers, viewed as counts of real or imagined objects, may be experienced phenomenally. I put forth even some speculative ideas about mental number processing by numerical savants
2005 Community Foundation Global Status Report
In 1999 the International Programs department of the Council on Foundations and the newly-formed Worldwide Initiatives for Grantmaker Support-Community Foundations (WINGS-CF) sponsored a project to track for the first time the global development of community foundations. This resulted in 2000 in the publication of The Growth of Community Foundations Around the World. In 2003, WINGS-CF reshaped and updated the report to focus on international community foundation trends and developments since the previous report. It became the first in a series of three annual reports
Estudio de factibilidad de una fábrica de sillones tipo Puff que se convierten en cama
The present work has the purpose to analyze if it is financially feasible the establishment of the company “Sacks” in the Ecuadorian market; and to elaborate strategies that would generate a sustained growth to the company. Sacks will be a company that will manufacture and sell beanbag chairs that turn into beds and related products whose designs will be focused on bringing comfort to the customers while at the same time having different usabilities.
