Entanglement of classical and quantum short-range dynamics in mean-field systems
The relationship between classical and quantum mechanics is
usually understood via the limit ÂŻh â 0. This is the underlying
idea behind the quantization of classical objects. The apparent
incompatibility of general relativity with quantum mechanics
and quantum field theory has challenged for many decades this
basic idea. We recently showed (Bru and de Siqueira Pedra,
0000; Bru and de Siqueira Pedra, 2021 [46,47]) the emergence
of classical dynamics for very general quantum lattice systems
with mean-field interactions, without (complete) suppression of
its quantum features, in the infinite volume limit. This leads
to a theoretical framework in which the classical and quantum
worlds are entangled. Such an entanglement is noteworthy and is
a consequence of the highly non-local character of mean-field in-
teractions. Therefore, this phenomenon should not be restricted
to systems with mean-field interactions only, but should also
appear in presence of interactions that are sufficiently long-
range, yielding effective, classical background fields, in the spirit
of the Higgs mechanism of quantum field theory. In order to
present the result in a less abstract way than in its original
version, here we apply it to a concrete, physically relevant,
example and discuss, by this means, various important aspectsThis work is supported by CNPq (309723/2020-5), FAPESP (2017/22340-9), as well as by the Basque Government through the grant IT641-13 and the BERC 2018-2021 program, by the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities via the BCAM Severo Ochoa accreditation SEV-2017-0718 and the grant PID2020-112948GB-I00, and by the COST Action CA18232 financed by the European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST)
Vectorlike leptons and inert scalar triplet: Lepton flavor violation, g-2, and collider searches
Indexación: Scopus. We investigate simplified models involving an inert scalar triplet and vectorlike leptons that can account for the muon g-2 anomaly. These simplified scenarios are embedded in a model that features W' and Z' bosons, which are subject to stringent collider bounds. The constraints coming from the muon g-2 anomaly are put into perspective with collider bounds, as well as bounds coming from lepton flavor violation searches. The region of parameter space that explains the g-2 anomaly is shown to be within reach of lepton flavor violation probes and future colliders such as HL-LHC and HE-LHC. © 2020 authors. Primeiro levantamento de mosca das frutas (Diptera: Tephritidae) e diversidade de parasitoides entre frutos de myrtaceae em todo o Estado da Bahia, Brasil
The objective of this study was to evaluate the diversity of fruit fly (Diptera: Tephritidae) species that use myrtaceous fruit, particularly guava, as hosts in several localities in the state of Bahia and to determine the infestation rates, pupal viability rates, and fruit fly-parasitoid associations. Sampling of myrtaceous fruit was carried out in 24 municipalities in different regions in the state of Bahia. Four fruit fly species, Anastrepha fraterculus, Anastrepha zenildae, Anastrepha sororcula, and Ceratitis capitata were obtained from the collected fruit. Three parasitoid species (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) emerged from Anastrepha larvae/pupae, Doryctobracon areolatus, Utetes anastrephae, and Asobara anastrephae. Doryctobracon areolatus emerged from A. fraterculus, A. sororcula and A. zenildae; Utetes anastrephae emerged from A. fraterculus and A. zenildae; and Asobara anastrephae emerged from A. fraterculus. Fruit fly and myrtaceous fruit associations are reported for the first time in several municipalities in the state of Bahia. A. zenildae was found infesting Syzygium malaccense for the first time in Brazil
