The final version is available from the publisher via the DOI in this record.Since 2009, non zero one – a London-based collective of artists with a background and interest in theatre but working across media and performance disciplines – has devised a series of unexpected, challenging but also light-hearted and inviting experiences of immersion. Whilst embracing a variety of techniques and contemporary media, one of the key features of the company’s work is the exploration of audience interaction through the use of headphones, typically in promenade and/or site-specific performance contexts. Following a first section that questions the role of voice in (theatrical) sonic immersion, the text unfolds as a dialogue between practitioner-scholar Konstantinos Thomaidis and non zero one artist and theatre director Sarah Butcher. The interview lends an attentive ear to the role of voice in the company’s work, from pre-recorded instruction to live audio interaction

    Prior events predict cerebrovascular and coronary outcomes in the PROGRESS trial

    <p><b>Background and Purpose:</b> The relationship between baseline and recurrent vascular events may be important in the targeting of secondary prevention strategies. We examined the relationship between initial event and various types of further vascular outcomes and associated effects of blood pressure (BP)–lowering.</p> <p><b>Methods:</b> Subsidiary analyses of the Perindopril Protection Against Recurrent Stroke Study (PROGRESS) trial, a randomized, placebo-controlled trial that established the benefits of BP–lowering in 6105 patients (mean age 64 years, 30% female) with cerebrovascular disease, randomly assigned to either active treatment (perindopril for all, plus indapamide in those with neither an indication for, nor a contraindication to, a diuretic) or placebo(s).</p> <p><b>Results:</b> Stroke subtypes and coronary events were associated with 1.5- to 6.6-fold greater risk of recurrence of the same event (hazard ratios, 1.51 to 6.64; P=0.1 for large artery infarction, P<0.0001 for other events). However, 46% to 92% of further vascular outcomes were not of the same type. Active treatment produced comparable reductions in the risk of vascular outcomes among patients with a broad range of vascular events at entry (relative risk reduction, 25%; P<0.0001 for ischemic stroke; 42%, P=0.0006 for hemorrhagic stroke; 17%, P=0.3 for coronary events; P homogeneity=0.4).</p> <p><b>Conclusions:</b> Patients with previous vascular events are at high risk of recurrences of the same event. However, because they are also at risk of other vascular outcomes, a broad range of secondary prevention strategies is necessary for their treatment. BP–lowering is likely to be one of the most effective and generalizable strategies across a variety of major vascular events including stroke and myocardial infarction.</p&gt

    In the title mol­ecule, C13H13ClN2OS, the heterocyclic ring adopts a flattened boat conformation with the plane through the four coplanar atoms making a dihedral angle of 85.6 (1)° with the benzene ring, which adopts an axial orientation. The thionyl, acetyl and methyl groups all have equatorial orientations. Inter­molecular N—H⋯O, N—H⋯S and C—H⋯S hydrogen bonds are found in the crystal structure. A weak C—H⋯π inter­action involving the benzene ring also occurs

    Absolute calibration of the LOPES antenna system

    Radio emission in extensive air showers arises from an interaction with the geomagnetic field and is subject of theoretical studies. This radio emission has advantages for the detection of high energy cosmic rays compared to secondary particle or fluorescence measurement methods. Radio antennas like the LOPES30 antenna system are suited to investigate this emission process by detecting the radio pulses. The characteristic observable parameters like electric field strength and pulse length require a calibration which was done with a reference radio source resulting in an amplification factor representing the system behavior in the environment of the KASCADE-Grande experiment.     The title compound, C15H12F2N2O2, crystallizes with two mol­ecules (A and B) in the asymmetric unit. Both aromatic rings of both mol­ecules are disordered over two orientations [occupancy ratios of 0.768 (3):0.232 (3) and 0.770 (3):0.230 (3) for mol­ecule A and 0.789 (3):0.211 (3) and 0.789 (3):0.211 (3) for mol­ecule B]. The dihedral angles between the planes of the major and minor components of the disordered aromatic rings are 72.0 (4) and 71.2 (4)° for mol­ecule A, and 70.2 (4) and 71.5 (2)° for mol­ecule B. In the crystal, both mol­ecules form inversion dimers with R 2 2(6) ring motifs via pairs of inter­molecular O—H⋯N hydrogen bonds. The dimers are linked, forming zigzag C(7) chains along the c axis. Weak C—H⋯π inter­actions help to consolidate the packing

The dihedral angle between mean planes of these two chloro-substituted benzene rings is 46.7 (7)° compared to 46.0 (1) and 32.4 (1)° in similar published sructures. The angles between the mean plane of the prop-2-en-1-one group and the mean planes of the 3-chloro­phenyl and 4-chloro­phenyl rings are 24.1 (2) and 29.63°, respectively. While no classical hydrogen bonds are present, weak inter­molecular C—H⋯π-ring inter­actions are observed, which contribute to the stability of crystal packing
