    Operation of a Single-phase Autonomous Inverter as a Part of a Low-power Wind Complex

    The article discusses the experience of operating a wind power complex with a low-power wind power installa- tion (5 kW), the use of which is promising for powering remote oil production facilities, exploration and other types of mining operations. The structure of the studied complex and its characteristics, technical problems that have arisen during operation for 6 years are given. The elements of the wind energy complex – the battery charge regulator and the inverter-converter are considered. The consequences of the mechanical regulator failure of battery charge are con- sidered and recommendations for its replacement are presented. The issues of diagnostics and repair of one of the main elements of the complex – the inverter-converter, its component – DC link are highlighted in detail. Oscil- lograms of the output voltage of the inverter-converter are presented for different capacities of the DC link and the images of the repaired inverter-converter are given. Recommendations are given on choosing an inverter-converter and setting up the operating modes of the wind energycomplex

    Ergonomic embedded in designing welding assembly tool for automotive manufacturing process

    Ergonomics focuses on understanding how workers interact with their work environment, tools, and equipment. The proper ergonomics consideration in tool design will impact worker safety and productivity. Ergonomics-embedded knowledge is critical in designing welding assembly tools for automotive manufacturing. The study aims to improve the ergonomic issues faced by the automotive assembly welders. The methodology involves studying the existing welding assembly process in automotive manufacturing regarding RULA scores and simulating the postures using CATIA analysis. Based on the simulation, critical ergonomics issues should be identified and analyzed. Finally, the welding process is improved by designing the hand support for the workers to assemble parts. The results revealed that the RULA scores have improved from 7 (high risk at the existing condition) to 3 (medium risk) for both worker's hands after the support of the assembly tool. In conclusion, ergonomic embedding in welding assembly tool design has improved the automotive assembly worker's well-being. The findings of this study contribute to the growing body of knowledge on integrating ergonomics into automotive manufacturing processes, providing valuable insights for industry practitioners and researchers alike

    Nasr Hamid Abu Zayd dikenali sebagai seorang tokoh yang lantang mengkritik al-Quran pada abad ini. Beliau mempunyai metode yang tersendiri ketika mentafsir al-Quran iaitu mengaplikasi hermeneutik dengan menerapkan elemen humanistic. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis elemen humanistic yang dibawa oleh Abu Zayd dalam empat aspek iaitu definisi al-Quran, konsep bahawa wahyu, proses penurunan wahyu dan metode pentafsiran. Empat aspek tersebut dibandingkan secara berterusan dengan al-Quran dan al-Sunnah. Untuk mencapai validity data, artikel yang bersifat kualitatif ini menggunakan metode analisis kandungan yang terdiri daripada karyakarya Abu Zayd sebagai sumber pengumpulan data. Manakala analisis data menggunakan kaedah diskriptif dan perbandingan berterusan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan, elemen humanistic yang telah diterapkan kepada al-Quran telah mencetuskan implikasi terhadap al- Quran, konsep wahyu, tafsiran relatif dan liberalisasi hukum syariah

    Obesity is associated with insulin resistance and components of the metabolic syndrome in Lebanese adolescents

    adolescents has been reported to range between 18–42%, depending on country of origin, thus suggesting an ethnicbased association between obesity and MS. Aim: This study aims to investigate the magnitude of the association between obesity, insulin resistance and components of MS among adolescents in Lebanon. Subjects and methods: The sample included 263 adolescents at 4 th and 5 th Tanner stages of puberty (104 obese; 78 overweight; 81 normal weight). Anthropometric, biochemical and blood pressure measurements were performed. Body fat was assessed using dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry. Results: According to International Diabetes Federation criteria, MS was identified in 21.2 % of obese, 3.8 % of overweight and 1.2 % of normal weight subjects. The most common metabolic abnormalities among subjects having MS were elevated waist circumference (96.2%), low HDL (96.2%) and hypertriglyceridemia (73.1%). Insulin resistance was identified in all subjects having MS. Regression analyses showed that percentage body fat, waist circumference and BMI were similar in their ability to predict the MS in this age group. Conclusions: MSwas identified in asubstantial proportion of Lebanese obese adolescents, thus highlighting the importance of early screening for obesity-associated metabolic abnormalities and of developing successful multi-component interventions addressing adolescent obesity

    Pengaruh Medan Magnet Menginduksi Busur Pada Pengelasan Autogenous Tungsten Inert Gas Sambungan Tumpul Baja Tahan Karat 304

    Dalam studi ini, penelitian mengenai penggunaan metode External Magnetic Field - Tungsten Inert Gas pada aplikasi sambungan tumpul dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari pemampatan busur las terhadap kualitas hasil sambungan tumpul pelat tipis SS 304. Proses pengelasan ini dilakukan tanpa menggunakan logam pengisi tambahan (autogenous weld). Pada penelitian ini medan magnet luar ditimbulkan dengan meletakkan solenoid magnetik di sekeliling obor las TIG. Pengaktifkan medan elektromagnetik ini dilakukan secara dinamis dengan menggunakan mikrokontroler. Parameter pengelasan yang digunakan yaitu arus pengelasan 100; 105; 110 A dan kecepatan pengelasan 1,6; 1,8; 2,05 mm/s. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pengelasan EMF-TIG dapat menghasilkan lebar manik yang lebih seragam di sepanjang jalur las dengan standar deviasi sebesar 0,08 dibandingkan dengan las TIG konvensional sebesar 0,12. Peningkatan kecepatan las sebesar 2,05 mm/s menyebabkan tidak berpengaruhnya penambahan medan magnet luar terhadap lebar manik las. Parameter arus 105 A dengan kecepatan 1,6; 1,8; 2,05 mm/s menghasilkan pemampatan lebar manik atas berturut- turut sebesar 0,87; 0,61; 0,1 mm. Parameter pengelasan dengan arus 105 A dan kecepatan las 1,6 mm/s memiliki efek pemampatan manik atas yang lebih besar yaitu sebesar 0,84 mm dibandingkan arus 110 A yaitu 0,38 mm
