    The influence of light spectrum on morphogenesis of orchid germs in vitro

    The aim of the study is to reveal growth and developments specificities of orchid (Cymbidium hybridum F1) germinant in vitro cultured early in the ontogenesis in relation to various light spectra. Chromatic and achromatic luminous tubes (Philips, TLD 18 W) were used as lighting sources. 4 light patterns were tested: control group - colorless (white) light WL; group 1 - WL with addition of red WL+RL, group 2 - WL and blue WL+BL, group 3 - WL and green WL+GL. The authors showed that during C. hybridum F1cultivation in type breeding ground, morphometric growth indexes of root and leaf and wet weight of germs raised with the increase of red light part in PAR (photosynthetically active radiation) flux, thought stem length was twice bigger under the mix of colorless and green light, and also blue light addition to achromatic emission aided the reduction of germ parameters, in contrast with control group. Growth characteristics of plants, cultivated under photoculture conditions, can be adjusted by light with varied spectral content

    The experiment indicated the influence of different PAR irradiance conditions on biomass growth of Chlorella vulgaris Beijer stock culture. The absorption spectrum of suspension was evaluated with spectrophotometer SF-256 UVI LOMO Photonika. In this work, effects of LED lamps with various radiant powers on yield gain were compared by analyzing the relation between cells concentration increase and time.     Measuring the deformation of a ferrogel sphere in a homogeneous magnetic field

    A sphere of a ferrogel is exposed to a homogeneous magnetic field. In accordance to theoretical predictions, it gets elongated along the field lines. The time-dependence of the elastic shear modulus causes the elongation to increase with time analogously to mechanic creep experiments, and the rapid excitation causes the sphere to vibrate. Both phenomena can be well described by a damped harmonic oscillator model. By comparing the elongation along the field with the contraction perpendicular to it, we can calculate Poisson's ratio of the gel. The magnitude of the elongation is compared with the theoretical predictions for elastic spheres in homogeneous fields.Comment: 5 pages, 8 figure

    The algorithm of classification of municipal unions (MU is based on definition of a confidential interval of average long-term tick-borne encephalitis virus (TBE) sickness rate, as a quantitative integrated indicator of an epidemiological situation at the territory. It is proved that a decade is a sufficient period to reveal the patters that can be transferred to general totality and facilitate realization of MU classification.     Differentiation of Transbaikal Territory by Tick-Borne Viral Encephalitis Incidence

    Objective of the study was to differentiate the Administrative Districts of theTransbaikalTerritory at the time of Tick-borne viral encephalitis (TBVE) incidence recession by epidemiological risk groups and to characterize them by volume of specific and nonspecific preventive measures.Materials and methods. Retrospective analysis of TBVE epidemiological situation is based on the statistical reporting data “Information on infectious and parasitic diseases” in 2009–2019 and other materials of the Rospotrebnadzor Administration in the Transbaikal Territory. The clustering of areas with various levels of epidemiological risk was conducted by calculation of 95 % confidential interval for long-term annual average of TBVE cases in municipal units of the Territory over a decade and assessment of appurtenance of the deviating values to the aggregate under study.Results and discussion. Twenty four out of 32 districts of the Transbaikal Territory are endemic for TBVE. These areas are divided into five groups: with very high epidemiological risk (2 districts), high (5), medium (8), and low (8) risk respectively, as well as the administrative center of the constituent entity which by the whole complex of indicators (disease manifestation, population density, factors of targeted TBVE decrease, social-and-living and economical conditions) cannot be considered together with the rest of municipalities. Each group of the districts was characterized by the number of cases and TBVE incidence rates, medical aid seeking by persons who suffered from tick bites, vaccination volumes, seroprevention, areas of acaricide treatments. Recommendations are presented for the essential complex and scope of measures to prevent TBVE in the groups of administrative districts that differ by the level of epidemiological risk

    The influence of the LED lighting on structural-functional parameters of lettuce plants

    Comparative studies were conducted on morphofunctional parameters of lettuce (Lactuca sativa) plants cultivated with the use of supplementary lighting from different light sources - LED lamps, high-pressure mercury arc lamp (HPM) and high-pressure sodium arc lamp (HPS). The work showed that morphofunctional parameters of lettuce were significantly higher with LED lighting, in comparison to plants cultivated with HPM illumination, and main parameters of leaves grown under LED were barely discernible from the samples grown under HPS lighting. We observed accelerated transfer into reproductive period during HPM lighting, what can lead to quality degradation of the product. Considering the approximate values of leaf character range in experiments with HPS and LED lighting and greater energy efficiency of LED, light emitting diodes are obviously more promising for supplementary illumination in protected ground conditions
