    Get PDF
Two methods for the simultaneous estimation of atorvastatin calcium, glimepiride and metformin hydrochloride in three-component solid dosage forms have been developed. First method involved solving simultaneous equations based on measurement of absorbance at three wavelengths, 247.2 nm, 224.8 nm and 236 nm as the λmax of atorvastatin calcium, glimepiride and metformin hydrochloride respectively while in the second method the instrument is preprogrammed to collect and compile the spectral data from the scan of standards and produces the result by matrix calculations. The linearity for three drugs was in the range of 5-30 Όg/ml. The procedures were successfully applied for the simultaneous determination of three drugs in laboratory prepared mixtures and commercial tablet preparation. High recovery and low % COV revealed the reliability of the methods indicating proposed methods are accurate and precise for the simultaneous estimation of three drugs in pure and tablet formulation. Development and Validation of UV-Spectrophotometric Method for Estimation of Metformin Hydrochloride and Pioglitazone in Tablet Dosage Form

    Get PDF
Simple, sensitive, rapid and accurate UV spectroscopic methods have been developed for the estimation of metformin hydrochloride and pioglitazone in tablet dosage forms. Simultaneous estimation and dual-wavelength methods were developed and validated using solvent methanol. Both drugs show linearity at 5-40 ”g/ml for both methods. The suggested techniques have been effectively implemented in pharmaceutical formulations to the evaluation of quoted drugs. Recovery research was conducted to verify the method's accuracy, precision. The techniques have been validated under ICH guidelines. Keywords: Metformin hydrochloride, Pioglitazone, Simultaneous estimation method and Dual wavelength method

FABRICATION AND EVALUATION OF HERBAL OINTMENT FORMULATIONS OF MORINGA OLEIFERA FOR TOPICAL DELIVERY

    Get PDF
Objective: Traditional medicine is an important source of potentially useful new compounds for the development of chemotherapeutic agents. Moringa oleifera Lam. is a multipurpose and exceptionally nutritious vegetable tree with a variety of potential uses. It is distributed in many countries of the tropics and subtropics. Ointments are semisolid systems which behave as viscoelastic materials when shear stress is applied. They contain medicaments and are intended to be applied externally to the body or to the mucous membrane. Methods: In present study the Morenga oleifera leaves extract was used to formulate four different ointment formulations with different bases like cetostearyl alcohol, hard paraffin, and liquid paraffin. Formulations were evaluated for different parameters such as general appearance, spreadability, pH, extrudability, centrifugation,   irritancy, loss on drying, stability study etc. Results: All formulations were found to be free of grittiness, homogeneous, without phase separation with green colour with a smooth homogeneous texture and glossy appearance. Viscosity of the ointment formulations was in the range of 32.21±0.51 to 35.3±0.4. Formulations were found to be stable at different temperature. Conclusion: On the basis of results it can be concluded that ointment preparations with extract of Morenga oleifera leaves indicated the suitability of method for the production of ointments. Peer Review History: Received 13 June 2018;   Revised 27 August; Accepted 1 September, Available online 15 September 2018 UJPR follows the most transparent and toughest ‘Advanced OPEN peer review’ system. The identity of the authors and, reviewers will be known to each other. This transparent process will help to eradicate any possible malicious/purposeful interference by any person (publishing staff, reviewer, editor, author, etc) during peer review. As a result of this unique system, all reviewers will get their due recognition and respect, once their names are published in the papers. We expect that, by publishing peer review reports with published papers, will be helpful to many authors for drafting their article according to the specifications. Auhors will remove any error of their article and they will improve their article(s) according to the previous reports displayed with published article(s). The main purpose of it is ‘to improve the quality of a candidate manuscript’. Our reviewers check the ‘strength and weakness of a manuscript honestly’. There will increase in the perfection, and transparency. Build your own closed loop: Graph-based proof of concept in closed loop for autonomous networks

Next Generation Networks (NGNs) are expected to handle heterogeneous technologies, services, verticals and devices of increasing complexity. It is essential to fathom an innovative approach to automatically and efficiently manage NGNs to deliver an adequate end-to-end Quality of Experience (QoE) while reducing operational expenses. An Autonomous Network (AN) using a closed loop can self-monitor, self-evaluate and self-heal, making it a potential solution for managing the NGN dynamically. This study describes the major results of building a closed-loop Proof of Concept (PoC) for various AN use cases organized by the International Telecommunication Union Focus Group on Autonomous Networks (ITU FG-AN). The scope of this PoC includes the representation of closed-loop use cases in a graph format, the development of evolution/exploration mechanisms to create new closed loops based on the graph representations, and the implementation of a reference orchestrator to demonstrate the parsing and validation of the closed loops. The main conclusions and future directions are summarized here, including observations and limitations of the PoC

A Bibliometric Analysis of Ultrasonic Vibration Assisted Turning

    Get PDF
Ultrasonic vibration-assisted turning (UVAT) is a new crossover in machining techniques which uses high frequency, low amplitude sound waves which are further superimposed on the cutting tool in traditional turning. This innovative technology is being utilized over the decades due to its conspicuous influence contrasted with traditional approach particularly in turning of hard-to-machine materials. This present paper analyses the past explores in the arena of ultrasonic vibration-assisted turning, by a far-reaching bibliometric investigation. The analysis is carried out by scrutinizing the studies through Science Direct and Scopus database to select the peer-reviewed papers. The advanced research tools like the word cloud and global heat map have additionally been utilized for introducing the investigation deliberately. The quantum of exploration is restricted yet a growing trend is seen since from the year 2018. From the information base of Science Direct and Scopus, it is perceived that the publications on ultrasonic vibration-assisted turning are 90 and 221 respectively. The study uncovered that the maximum publications of ultrasonic vibration turning are in journal articles from the subject area of an engineering stream. The Chinese lead the number of publications followed by Iran and the United Kingdom. The paper summarises that this research field is recent and more exploration is required in the domain of hard turning using ultrasonic vibration assisted turning

The Indian tourism and hospitality sector is one of the major components of Indian service industry contributing for 9.2 % of India's GDP. Also it's a huge avenue for employment in India by providing 2.67 Cr jobs in 2018. Tourism and Hospitality Sectors are also a great source of foreign exchange for India. Recently, Due to the fatal and highly contagious nature of the Novel Corona virus or Covid-19, all the economic activities and the movements across the country has been stopped as Indian government has imposed a country wide lockdown since March 24, 2020. All the sectors including Tourism and Hospitality are heavily impacted by this unprecedented situation and livelihoods are at stake. Therefore, the aim of this study is to assess the impact of these restrictions due to Covid-19 on the Tourism and Hospitality industry in India. The Methodology technique used is conceptual and the Secondary data published through government sources, websites, published reports, magazines and newspapers is used for the study. The major findings regarding the extent of the impact on the Hospitality industry (Hotels, Aviation, Travel and Tourism) are highlighted. In conclusion, this study will be helpful for the authorities to understand the depth of the problem and to implement necessary measures to make this sector more sustainable
