This study examines the occurrence of aflatoxins (AFS) and ochratoxin A (OTA) in bread and durum wheat samples. A total of 141 samples were collected from eleven different regions of Turkey. An analytical method based on liquid extraction, immunoaffinity column (IAC) clean-up followed by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was used for the determination of AFs and OTA levels. As a result, AFs and OTA were detected in 2% and 9.2% of wheat samples at concentrations varying from 0.21 to 0.44 µg kg−1 and from 0.1 to 3.2 µg kg−1, respectively. Aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) and aflatoxin B2 (AFB2) were found positive in samples ranging between 0.21–0.35 µg kg−1 and 0.094 µg kg−1, respectively. However, none of the samples contained aflatoxin G1 (AFG1) and aflatoxin G2 (AFG2). The study also recommended that contamination levels in wheat and wheat-based products should be routinely monitored in greater sample numbers to insure food safety

Influence of temperature on thermal solvolysis of epoxy resin in coal tar pitch

The temperature effect of epoxy resin solvolysis in coal tar pitch on the yield of liquid products of resin destruction was studied. Theresults of the solvolysis of the original epoxy resin and cured epoxy resin in the medium of the coal tar pitch and without it were compared. Liquid products of resin destruction was investigated by gaschromatography/mass spectrometry.

In the title molecule, C29H26N2O2, there are two strong intramolecular O—H⋯N hydrogen bonds involving the hydroxy and imine groups, forming S(6) ring motifs. The dihedral angles between adjacent phenyl rings and phenol-containing planes are 85.27 (19) and 91.38 (18)°. In the crystal structure, weak intermolecular C—H⋯O hydrogen bonds connect molecules into a two-dimensional network

In the the title compound, C29H26N2O2, two strong intramolecular O—H⋯N hydrogen bonds involving the hydroxy and imine groups generate S(6) ring motifs. The dihedral angles between the pairs of terminal benzene rings are 89.8 (2) and 87.8 (2)°

A characteristics framework for Semantic Information Systems Standards

    Get PDF
Semantic Information Systems (IS) Standards play a critical role in the development of the networked economy. While their importance is undoubted by all stakeholders—such as businesses, policy makers, researchers, developers—the current state of research leaves a number of questions unaddressed. Terminological confusion exists around the notions of “business semantics”, “business-to-business interoperability”, and “interoperability standards” amongst others. And, moreover, a comprehensive understanding about the characteristics of Semantic IS Standards is missing. The paper addresses this gap in literature by developing a characteristics framework for Semantic IS Standards. Two case studies are used to check the applicability of the framework in a “real-life” context. The framework lays the foundation for future research in an important field of the IS discipline and supports practitioners in their efforts to analyze, compare, and evaluate Semantic IS Standard

Modeling and simulating for the treatment of subjectivity in the process of choosing personnel using fuzzy logic

Every day organizations pay more attention to Human Resources Management, because the human factor is preponderant in the results of it. One of the important policies is the Selection of Personnel, these are needed for their decision-making results, which in many organizations is done in a subjective manner and which brings consequences not very favorable to them. Taking this problem into account, it is decided to design and apply procedures and tools of fuzzy mathematics to reduce subjectivity and uncertainty in decision-making, creating work algorithms for this policy that includes multifactorial weights and analysis with measurement indicators that they allow tangible and reliable results. In this case of personnel selection, eight candidates were taken into account and by applying a diffuse evaluation system, the candidate with the highest rating of 98% was chosen. This indicates that subjectivity was reduced when choosing the best evaluated candidate
