Sharp weighted estimates for multi-frequency Calder\'on-Zygmund operators

Full text link
In this paper we study weighted estimates for the multi-frequency ω\omega-Calder\'{o}n-Zygmund operators TT associated with the frequency set Θ={ξ1,ξ2,,ξN}\Theta=\{\xi_1,\xi_2,\dots,\xi_N\} and modulus of continuity ω\omega satisfying the usual Dini condition. We use the modern method of domination by sparse operators and obtain bounds TLp(w)Lp(w)N1r12[w]Ap/rmax(1,1pr), 1r<p<,\|T\|_{L^p(w)\rightarrow L^p(w)}\lesssim N^{|\frac{1}{r}-\frac{1}{2}|}[w]_{\mathbb{A}_{p/r}}^{max(1,\frac{1}{p-r})},~1\leq r<p<\infty, for the exponents of NN and Ap/r\mathbb{A}_{p/r} characteristic [w]Ap/r[w]_{\mathbb{A}_{p/r}}

Control-structure interaction in a free beam

Get PDF
A simple energy approach to study the problem of control structure interactions in large space structures is presented. For the illustrative case of a free-free beam, the vibrational energy imparted during operation of constant, step, and pulsed thrusters is found in a nondimensional closed form. Then based on a parametric study, suggestions are made on the choice of parameters to minimize the control structure interactions. The study of this simple system provides physical insight and understanding for more complex systems

Cosmic ray intensity distribution perpendicular to solar equatorial plane at 1 A.U. during 1978-83

Get PDF
The distribution of cosmic ray intensity perpendicular to solar equatorial plane, was investigated by using its yearly variation with respect to the heliolatitudinal position of the Earth, for the two intervals 1978 to 1980 and 1981 to 1983. The monthly mean values of two high latitude stations along with the solar and geomagnetic indices are used to derive the cosmic ray intensity distribution free from the changes due to variation in solar activity. The correction is found to be significant only during the interval 1976 to 1980. The results indicate a significant linear increase in cosmic ray intensity from north to south of solar equator, contrary to that observed during 1973 to 1975. No symmetrical gradients are found during the period of study, in agreement with earlier results

Role of solar flare index in long term modulation of cosmic ray intensity

Get PDF
Recently, the importance of the occurrence of solar flares in the long-term modulation of cosmic ray intensity has been re-emphasized. For this purpose, the data of solar flares have been used from various publications, such as Solar Geophysical Data books, U.A.G. reports and Quarterly Bulletin Of Solar Activity. Research very clearly reveals that even the periodic changes in the solar flare observations, obtained from the four different data sources, for the same interval, differ significantly from one another; this is evidenced even on an average basis. Hence, in any study using solar flares, the importance of selecting a single compilation of the solar-flare data for the entire period of investigation is stressed

oai:ojs.iioablett.pitt.edu:article/2The nutritive value of new varieties of oil seeds has been assessed in a series of feeding trial with 34 days old 18 white rats supported moderate rat growth (male albino). The nutritive values of five new varieties of oil seeds, viz sunflower ( Helianths annuus L.) variety LSF -11 and LSF-8 , safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.) variety PBNS-12 and PBNS-40, and groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) variety JL-24 were determined and compared in terms of the total feed intake, faeces voided, feed utilization, percent of feed utilization, nitrogen intake, nitrogen voided, nitrogen utilization, percent of nitrogen utilization, protein efficiency ratio and feed efficiency ratio per rat per day were reported in ranged between 6.56 to 8.03, 1.20 to 1.48, 5.26 to 6.55, 80.15 to 82.70, 0.25 to 0.32, 0.02 to 0.028, 0.23 to 0.30, 90.75 to 92.89, (+)1.37 to (+)1.51 and (+)0.35 to (+)0.37 percent respectively. These new varieties of oil seeds were found non-toxic for rats and supported moderate rat growth.

Bilinear Spherical Maximal Functions of Product Type

Get PDF
In this paper we introduce and study a bilinear spherical maximal function of product type in the spirit of bilinear Calderón–Zygmund theory. This operator is different from the bilinear spherical maximal function considered by Geba et al. in (Math Res Lett20(4):675–694, 2013). We deal with lacunary and full versions of this operator, and prove weighted estimates with respect to genuine bilinear weights beyond the Banach range. Our results are implied by sharp sparse domination for both the operators,following ideas by Lacey (J Anal Math 139(2):613–635, 2019). In the case of the lacunary maximal operator we also use interpolation of analytic families of operators to address the weighted boundedness for the whole range of tuplesRYC2018-025477-I Ikerbasqu

Status of soluble vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 in knee osteoarthritis among type 2-diabetic postmenopausal women

Background: Knee osteoarthritis is the most common form of joint disorder and a leading cause of pain and functional disability among elderly female population. Type 2-diabetes is frequently reported comorbidity in elderly female patients with knee osteoarthritis. VCAM-1 is emerging as a strong and independent predictor for severe osteoarthritis. VCAM-1 is an inducible cell surface sialo glycoprotein and mediates heterotypic cellular aggregation. Therefore, the aim of this study is to assess the role of soluble vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 at the onset of knee osteoarthritis among type 2 diabetic postmenopausal women.Methods: The present study includes 100 type 2-diabetic female subjects of age above 50 years as cases and 100 normal healthy female age matched individuals as controls. Osteoarthritis of knee was ascertained using the American college of rheumatology classification criteria. Serum soluble VCAM-1 concentration was measured by ELISA method in all 200 subjects. Biochemical parameters-Fasting blood sugar and lipid profile were measured using Mind ray BS-400 and HbA1c was measured by turbidimetric immunoassay method. Statistical analysis was made by student independent sample t-test. Correlation was determined by using spearman’s rank correlation coefficient.Results: Serum level of soluble VCAM-1 was found statistically highly significant (p<0.001) in type 2 diabetic postmenopausal women having early stage of knee osteoarthritis as compared to control healthy subjects. The mean levels of fasting blood sugar, HbA1c, total cholesterol, TG, LDL-C and VLDL-C were also found significantly increased while HDL-C was found significantly decreased in cases as compared to controls.Conclusions: The increased level of soluble VCAM-1 in type 2 diabetic subjects shows active inflammation or cartilage damage. Therefore, it can be used as an early biomarker for osteoarthritis among type 2 diabetic postmenopausal women
