The present investigation was carried out to evaluate the ameliorative effect of Andrographis paniculata during E. coli-induced pathology in broilers. Day-old broiler chicks (n = 100) were randomly divided into four equal groups. Group I served as a negative control and was fed with a commercial diet. On day 8, the birds from groups II and IV were challenged with a single oral dose of E. coli broth culture 0.2 mL (1×109 cfu/mL). Groups III and IV were fed with Andrographis paniculata 5 g/kg of feed from day old to the end of the experiment. The total duration of the experiment was 35 days. On the 7th, 21st and 28th day post infection (DPI) with E. coli, six birds from each group were randomly sacrificed and observed for gross and histopathogical observations. Group II birds showed ascites and thickened intestinal mucosa with cheesy material on the 28th and 35th DPI. Pathomorphological alterations, viz. congestion, hemorrhages, degenerations, necrosis, fibrinous exudates, edema, mononuclear cell and heterophil infiltration in the lung, liver, heart, kidneys and duodenum were observed in group II birds, along with depletion of the lymphoid cell population in the spleen. Pretreatment of Andrographis paniculata in the E. coli challenged group led to mild degenerative changes in all organs, indicating the putative protective effect of the plant during E. coli induced pathology in broilers. However, further, more elaborated study is required to calculate the dosage of Andrographis paniculata for use as an antibacterial agent in broiler feed. U toj su skupini promatrane patomorfološke promjene poput kongestije, krvarenja, degeneracije, nekroze, fibrinskog eksudata, edema, infiltracije pluća, jetre, srca, bubrega i dvanaesnika mononuklearnim i heterofilnim stanicama, uz depleciju limfoidnih stanica u slezeni.

Azilsartan: the novel ARB with unique mechanism of action

Hypertension is attributed to be one of the major risk factors in the pathophysiology of ischemic heart disease, stroke, heart failure and renal dysfunction. Angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs) are one of the first line drugs recommended for clinical use in hypertension by JNC 8. Azilsartan is the recent addition to this family of ARBs and is perceived as one of the potent antihypertensive drugs today. Azilsartan was developed by replacing the tetrazole ring in candesartan with a 5 member oxo-oxadiazole ring. In India Azisartan was recently approved by DCGI in December 2016 for use in hypertension. In various randomized, double blind clinical studies Azilsartan was found to be to be superior in terms of clinical efficacy over other ARBs like Candesartan, Olmesartan and Valsartan and angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor like Ramipril. In terms of safety profile Azilsartan appears to be equivalent to the currently available ARBs. Azilsartan due to its superior efficacy and comparative safety profile appear to be a new addition to the armamentarium in the treatment of hypertension.

The objective of the present study was to stabilize doxorubicin hydrochloride in sugar-phosphate amorphous mixtures at ambient temperature by drying it with vacuum foam drying. Finished products were evaluated for foam characteristic, residual moisture content, reconstitution time, percent drug recovery and drug-excipient interactions. FTIR studies revealed existence of physical interaction of drug with sugar. Light microscopy showed formation of amorphous glass which was supported by the observations of XRPD analyses. The optimized composition in vacuum foam drying was processed by lyophilization and their stability was compared. Storage at ambient temperature for 6 months showed that stability of vacuum foam dried product was better than lyophilized products. The amount of residual moisture affected the stability of drug. The detailed study revealed lactose and sodium dihydrogen phosphate is best suited for stabilization of doxorubicin hydrochloride at room temperature.Colegio de Farmacéuticos de la Provincia de Buenos Aire

Correlation Coefficients and Adaptive Threshold-Based Dissolve Detection in High-Quality Videos

Rapid enhancements in Multimedia tools and features day per day have made entertainment amazing and the quality visual effects have attracted every individual to watch these days\u27 videos. The fast-changing scenes, light effects, and undistinguishable blending of diverse frames have created challenges for researchers in detecting gradual transitions. The proposed work concentrates to detect gradual transitions in videos using correlation coefficients obtained using color histograms and an adaptive thresholding mechanism. Other gradual transitions including fade out, fade in, and cuts are eliminated successfully, and dissolves are then detected from the acquired video frames. The characteristics of the normalized correlation coefficient are studied carefully and dissolve are extracted simply with low computational and time complexity. The confusion between fade in/out and dissolves is discriminated against using the adaptive threshold and the absence of spikes is not part of the case of dissolves. The experimental results obtained over 14 videos involving lightning effects and rapid object motions from Indian film songs accurately detected 22 out of 25 gradual transitions while falsely detecting one transition. The performance of the proposed scheme over four benchmark videos of the TRECVID 2001 dataset obtained 91.6, 94.33, and 92.03 values for precision, recall, and F-measure respectively

The transformer is expensive and massive gear of intensity framework. It works for 24 hours of multi day and feeds the heap. Once in a while the circumstance may happen when the heap on transformer all of a sudden increased above it’s the heap. At times the circumstance mayccure when the heap on the transformer is all of a sudden increased above its appraised limit. At the point when this circumstance happens, the transformer will be over-burden and overheated and harmed the protection of transformer bringing about interference of supply. The best answer for maintain a strategic distance from the over-burdening is to work the quantity of transformers in parallel. It is same like parallel operation transformers where the number of transformers shares the framework load. In the suggested approach second trans-former will share the heap when the heap on the primary transformer will transcend its eval-uated limit. Power disappointment is a short or long haul loss of electric capacity to a region for the most part cost reason by short out, harm to Electric transmission line, overvoltage, issues at power stations and all the more normally disappointment due to over-burdening. The possible Damage territories are influenced by losing power. The one innate issue with standard power sharing and observing units is their broadcast quality. Since you must be physically near the alert to hear it, you probably won't get advised so as to actually prevent over-burden. The smaller scale controller based burden sharing and control framework is a gadget that consequently controls overload on a generator by sharing force and cut off sup-ply once the power utilization surpasses the measure of intensity provided

Face recognition technology has evolved over years with the Principal Component Analysis (PCA) method being the benchmark for recognition efficiency. The face recognition techniques take care of variation of illumination, pose and other features of the face in the image. We envisage an application of these face recognition techniques for classification of medical images. The motivating factor being, given a condition of an organ it is represented by some typical features. In this paper we report the use of the face recognition techniques to classify the type of Esophagitis, a condition of inflammation of the esophagus. The image of the esophagus is captured in the process of endoscopy. We test PCA, Fisher Face method and Independent Component Analysis techniques to classify the images of the esophagus. Esophagitis is classified into four categories. The results of classification for each method are reported and the results are compared

Remanufacturing is a process of recovering used products to a like-new condition. It can potentially achieve considerable economic, environmental and social benefits in many applications. However, its economic benefit varies for different products and remanufacturing processes. This research aims to develop a framework and cost model to quantitatively evaluate the benefits of remanufacturing techniques to assist the decision making on end-of-life strategies. Additive manufacturing-based remanufacturing process has been modelled first, then cost breakdown structure for the process has been created, and the cost model has been developed. Validation of the cost model has been conducted based on expert judgement, and a case study has been carried out by using the developed cost model to compare the benefit of remanufacturing a specified component or making a new one
