Sensorless Load Torque Estimation and Passivity Based Control of Buck Converter Fed DC Motor

    Get PDF
Passivity based control of DC motor in sensorless configuration is proposed in this paper. Exact tracking error dynamics passive output feedback control is used for stabilizing the speed of Buck converter fed DC motor under various load torques such as constant type, fan type, propeller type, and unknown load torques. Under load conditions, sensorless online algebraic approach is proposed, and it is compared with sensorless reduced order observer approach. The former produces better response in estimating the load torque. Sensitivity analysis is also performed to select the appropriate control variables. Simulation and experimental results fully confirm the superiority of the proposed approach suggested in this paper

India is a country with immense fishing and culture potential. The unscientific practices carried out in this sector have led it to a chaotic condition from which it is high time to get rid off. Management of the sector in an efficient way will help its1evival from the prevailing situation. Policies are steps taken with a futuristic outlook. It's a relatively new term in the fishery sector. Policies taken in the past by European nations in the sector were well organized and adoption of such models may help to cut a new fishery policy for India. Fish and fisheries - both marine and inland - are an intrinsic part ofthe livelihoods of many in developing countrie

Microalgae are an economical choice for biofuel production, because of its availability and low cost. Our studies prove that biodiesel can be produced from Freshwater (Temple tanks, Forest lagoons, Inland lakes, Rock ponds) microalgae (Chlorella vulgaris, Senedesmis sp). The Nile Red fluorescence method described in our present study provides a rapid, easily manipulated and reliable method for in vivo quantification of neutral lipids in various microalgal taxa, particularly those belonging to the Chlorophyceae, that were previously found difficult to stain with Nile Red method. The optimum drying period of microalgae biomass is determined to be 120 min. The percentage of lipid content during n-Hexane soaking period (Chlorella vulgaris) is 49% during 210min. Extraction of lipid fragments through solvent extraction method from biomass and the fractions were analysed for biodiesel under FT-IR and GC-MS

Nonlinear Radiative Heat Transfer of Cu-Water Nanoparticles over an Unsteady Rotating Flow under the Influence of Particle Shape

    Get PDF
A 3D study on Cu-water-rotating nanofluid over a permeable surface in the presence of nonlinear radiation is presented. Particle shape and thermophysical properties are considered in this study. The governing equations in partial forms are reduced to a system of nonlinear ordinary differential equations using suitable similarity transformations. An effective Runge-Kutta-Fehlberg fourth-fifth order method along with shooting technique is applied to attain the solution. The effects of flow parameters on the flow field and heat transfer characteristics were obtained and are tabulated. Useful discussions were carried out with the help of plotted graphs and tables. It is found that the rate of heat transfer is more enhanced in column-shaped nanoparticles when compared to tetrahedron- and sphere-shaped nanoparticles. Higher values of rotating parameter enhance the velocity profile and corresponding boundary layer thickness. It has quite the opposite behavior in angular velocity profile. Further, unsteady parameter increases the velocity profile and corresponding boundary layer thickness

Indian subcontinent is highly vulnerable to major natural disasters such as earthquakes, cyclones, floods, droughts, landslides and bushfires. Tsunami, which is a recent addition to this list, had occurred in the early morning of 26th December 2004, after a massive earthquake of 9.2 magnitude on the Richter scale in Andaman & Nicobar islands, resulting in the submergence of large area of farmland, and subsequent drying up of water bodies. It caused moisture stress for the standing crops, livestock and fisheries and affected the livelihood of the people to a large extent. In this context, the present study has been carried out to make the socio-economic impact assessment of livelihood security in agriculture, animal husbandry and aquaculture on the tsunami-hit lands of Andaman. Data have been collected from 150 sample respondents and the survey has been conducted for two periods, pre-tsunami and post-tsunami. The results have indicated that tsunami has ravaged the households, standing crops, farm inputs such as seed, feed and implements, livestock and poultry population, their sheds, fish ponds, etc., thereby affecting the basic livelihood security of the people in Andaman. The rehabilitation measures taken by the government and NGOs have improved their livelihoods by reviving agriculture considerably in the subsequent years and by creating employment opportunities in various farm and non-farm activities. The paper has suggested creating profitable livelihood security to vulnerable sections of the society in the existing socio-economic penury with holistic intervention of the community, government and NGOs.Agricultural and Food Policy,

Deuteron Structure and Form Factors: Using Inverse Potentials for S-waves

In this paper, we determine deuteron's static properties, low energy scattering parameters, total cross-section and form factors from inverse S-wave potentials constructed using Morse function. The scattering phase shifts (SPS) at different lab energies are determined using phase function method. The model parameters are optimised using both machine learning algorithm and traditional data analysis by choosing mean squared error as cost function. The mean absolute error between experimental and obtained SPS for states 3S1 and 1S0 are found to be 0.35 and 0.70 respectively. The low energy scattering parameters are matching well with expected values. The contribution due to S-waves SPS towards total cross-section at various energies have been obtained and are matching well with experimental values. The analytical ground state deuteron wave-function (DWF) is obtained by utilizing the experimental value for Quadrupole moment. Other static properties and form factors determined from obtained DWF are found to be in close agreement with experimental ones.Comment: 29 pages, 5 Figures, 8 Table

Internet of Things (IoT) assumes a critical part in the advancement of different fields. The IoT data trusted exchange in recent year extend of uses influence an awesome request and increasing scale. In such a platform, exchange the data sets that they require and specialist organization can search. However, the enough trust as the third-party mediators for data exchange in centralized infrastructure cannot provide. This paper proposes a blockchain for IoT data trusted exchange based on decentralized solution. In particular, the fundamental standards of blockchain in verify manner, individuals can communicate with each other without a confided in mediator intermediary. Blockchain enable us to have a distributed, digital ledger. IoT (Internet of Things) sensor devices (zigbee) utilizing blockchain technology to assert public availability of temperature records, tracking location shipment, humidity, preventing damage, data immutability. The sensor devices looking the temperature, location, damage of each parcel during the shipment to completely guarantee directions. In blockchain all data is got moved from one position to another, where a smart contract assesses against the product attributes. Ethereum blockchain and smart contracts atlast it gets through knowledge a design to be copied and presents its decentralized distributed digital ledger, auditable, transparent, features visually

Healthcare information exchange using blockchain technology

    Get PDF
Current trend in health-care industry is to shift its data on the cloud, to increase availability of Electronic Health Records (EHR) e.g. Patient’s medical history in real time, which will allow sharing of EHR with ease. However, this conventional cloud-based data sharing environment has data security and privacy issues. This paper proposes a distributed solution based on blockchain technology for trusted Health Information Exchange (HIE). In addition to exchange of EHR between patient and doctor, the proposed system is also used in other aspects of healthcare such as improving the insurance claim and making data available for research organizations. Medical data is very sensitive, in both social as well as legal aspects, so permissioned block-chain such as Hyperledger Fabric is used to retain the necessary privacy required in the proposed system. As, this is highly permissioned network where the owner of the network i.e. patient holds all the access rights, so in case of emergency situations the proposed system has a Backup Access System which will allow healthcare professionals to access partial EHR and this backup access is provided by using wearable IOT device
