From a linguistic point of view, the narrative in Cuento de cuentos may be conceived as a puzzle made out of intricately assembled phraseology forming a lengthy, almost unending string. Cuento de cuentos is possibly the Spanish literary work containing a bigger amount of phraseology in the smallest space. Our study aims at identifying the phraseology in this work, discussing some of its characteristics (variation, currency, etc.), and categorizing it.peerReviewe

    Get PDF

Sports and extreme social exclusion. Homeless people case

Although the study of the potentialities of sports in the struggle against social exclusion has long been a topic of analysis, little has been applied within the scope of the extreme social exclusion. The aim of this paper is to present some of such potentialities, adapted to the case of the homeless. To do this, we begin by presenting and discussing some theoretical contributions, highlighting the necessary attention to the transformation of values, habits and identities. Subsequently, we make some assessments of the application of this theoretical framework to the scope of homelessness, an area where it is necessary to differentiate between soft and hard social interventions. Finally, the ethnographic analysis of the project “Street Football”, of the RAIS Foundation, serves us to analyze some of the transformative potential of sports as a tool of social intervention with the homeless. In this case, we mention, among others, the potential benefits implicit in the playful side of this kind of social intervention, the opening up of new spaces of communication, the relaxation of the roles between interveners and intervened and the reversion of the social stigma associated with it

[EN] The aim of this study was to analyze the association between sprint ability and endurance capacity in soccer referees. Twenty-three Spanish officials participated in this study. Each referee undertook, in this order, a 40 m linear straight sprinting test (40 m Sprint) and the Yo–Yo intermittent recovery level 1 test (YYIR1) interspersed with a 8 min of self-administered rest. The results in the 40m Sprint test showed that the time spent by referees was 5.56 0.27 s and achieved a maximum velocity of 31.46 2.85 km h1. Furthermore, during the YYIR1 the referees covered 1213.91 432.26 m. The distance covered at YYIR1 was moderately correlated to the velocity achieved in the 40 m Sprint test (r = 0.404, p < 0.05). These results suggest that the ability to reach high speeds is a limiting factor in YYIR1 performance.S

[EN] Purpose: This paper studies the effects of authentic sports leadership training on coaches’ self-perception of their own authentic leadership, perceived justice, competence, overall self-efficacy, and collective efficacy. Additionally, players’ perceptions of their coaches with respect to their authentic leadership, perceived justice, competence, collective efficacy, satisfaction with the coach, and support for basic psychological needs were analyzed. Design: Twenty-five football and handball coaches were randomly assigned to two groups. Fifteen coaches made up the experimental group that carried out the training leadership program, while 10 coachesmade up the control group, carrying out no training whatsoever. A total of 248 football and handball players participated in this study; 136 were led by coaches who participated in the training program, and 112 by coaches who did not participate in the program. Results: The results of this study indicate that coaches’ self-perception is positively influenced after having received training in the variables of authentic leadership, perceived justice, competence, overall self-efficacy, and collective efficacy. Players whose coaches were part of the program perceive them as being more competent as coaches. Conclusions: The effects of an authentic sports leadership training program are effective for coaches and players alike.S

The present work is a study of the poeticlanguage of the Spanish poet Gloria Fuertes. It specificallyconsiders the metrics which has been less mentioned byliterary criticism. Two types of compositions are addressed:classic verse (poetry of traditional type, or regular metric)and free verse. One of the characteristic resources ofher first type of compositions is the rupture of the metricconventions (rhyme, syllabic quantity, strophic form, etc.)by incorporating some deviating elements, usually at thetermination of the poem line
