Synthesis of carbo- and heterobiaryls by intermolecular radical addition of aryl bromides onto aromatic solvents
Tris(trimethylsilyl)silane (TTMSS) and azabisisobutyronitrile (AIBN) promoted the intermolecular arylation of aryl and heteroaryl bromides onto aromatic solvents under thermal conditions via a radical pathway.Financial support by the Comisión Interministerial de Ciencia y Tecnologı́a (CICYT, project BQU2001-1508) and a grant to one of us by the Universidad de Alcalá (A.N) are gratefully acknowledged
Pyridinium N-2´-pyridylaminide: synthesis of 3-aryl-2-aminopyridines through an intramolecular radical process
Tris(trimethylsilyl)silane (TTMSS) and azobisisobutironitrile (AIBN) promote the intramolecular heteroarylation of arenesulfonamides with pyridyl radicals under thermal conditions. The arenesulfonamides are easily prepared from pyridinium N-2′-pyridylaminide. The heteroarylation process involves pyridyl radical cyclization and ipso substitution.Financial support by the Comisión Interministerial de\ud

Pyridinium N-2 '-pyridylaminide: radical cyclization in the synthesis of annulated 2-aminopyridines
The synthesis of annulated 2-aminopyridines by intramolecular radical pyridylation of the appropriate substrates, obtained from pyridinium N-2'-pyridylaminide, can be performed using TTMSS and AIBN.Financial support by the CICYT (Project CTQ2005-08902/BQU) and two grants, by the Universidad de Alcalá\ud

Pyridinium N-2´-pyridylaminide: radical cyclization for the synthesis of benzonaphthyridine derivatives
The synthesis of benzonaphthyridine derivatives that incorporate a 2-aminopyridine moiety can be performed by intramolecular radical pyridylation of the appropriate substrates, obtained from pyridinium N-2¿-pyridylaminide, using TTMSS and AIBN.Financial support from the CICYT (project CTQ2005-\ud

Family functioning and quality of life among families in eating disorders: a comparison with substance-related disorders and healthy controls
This is the peer reviewed version of the following article: European Eating Disorders Review 24.4 (2016): 294-303, which has been published in final form at https://doi.org/10.1002/erv.2440. This article may be used for non-commercial purposes in accordance with Wiley Terms and Conditions for Self-ArchivingThe aim of this study was to compare the family functioning of Spanish parents of patients with an eating disorder (ED) with that of carers of patients with substance-related disorders (SRDs) and families of healthy controls (HC). This cross-sectional study included 48 mothers and 45 fathers of 48 adolescent patients with an ED, 47 mothers and 37 fathers of 47 patients with an SRD and 66 mothers and 50 fathers of 68 HCs. Families of ED patients reported lower levels of criticism, symptom accommodation and negative caregiving experience than families of SRD patients. However, relatives of both ED and SRD patients reported similar levels of quality of life related to their mental health. Furthermore, families of HCs generally exhibited better scores on all scales assessing their caregiving experiences. Regarding gender differences, there was a tendency in mothers, primarily those from the ED group, to report more adverse experiences as caregivers compared with fathers. Symptoms characteristic to each disorder may be associated with differential patterns of family functioning and may require specifically tailored family interventions. Early family intervention in adolescence is crucial, as relatives' quality of life does not seem to have been badly affected at this point in the course of the illnessDr Sepulveda has a post-doctoral Ramon and Cajal scholarship from the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation (RYC-2009-05092) as well as a project funding from the same Ministry (PSI2011-23127). What Do We Know about Mooc Students? A Case Study
This article presents an initial exploratory study about the students who attended the
MOOC entitled “Creation and retouching of images with free software”. Massive and Open
Online Courses (MOOC) have become popular in a few years and more and more people
are using them as a means of learning for their personal and professional development.
Their appearance has been accompanied by criticism due to their own characteristics, but
there are few studies that ask students. Through a descriptive method a questionnaire was
designed to collect data on the personal variables associated with the MOOC students, their
motivations and the degree of satisfaction they showed at the end of the training process.
The results obtained allowed to define the profile of the type student, who is a man with
university studies, between 26 and 45 years. He lives in Spain and is employee. He has
previously conducted online training activities and is not the first time he makes a MOOC.
The study concluded that the motivation of the students to carry out the MOOC is the need
to improve their curriculum and acquire new knowledge. Motivation was fulfilled in view of
the high levels of satisfaction they expressed
