    Oxidación en sistemas lipídicos heterofásicos: emulsiones aceite en agua

    Lipid oxidation is the major form of deterioration in foods because it decreases food quality and nutritional value, and may have negative health implications. However, variables affecting lipid oxidation in heterophasic lipid systems are scarcely known, and they are of particular interest in the case on oil-in-water emulsions since these lipid systems constitute a large number of foods, e.g., milks, creams, mayonnaise’s, soups and sauces. In this paper, the present state of the art on lipid oxidation in oil-in-water emulsions is revised, including description of the variables specifically involved in oxidation of these lipid systems (pH, presence of interface, partition of reactants and products, interaction with other components) as well as those affecting lipid oxidation in general but showing particular characteristics in their action in emulsions (oxygen, unsaturation degree, presence of antioxidants and prooxidants).La oxidación lipídica es la alteración más importante que ocurre en los alimentos porque disminuye su calidad y valor nutritivo, y puede tener consecuencias negativas para la salud. Sin embargo, las variables que afectan a la oxidación en sistemas lipídicos heterofásicos son poco conocidas y, en particular, poseen gran interés en el caso de las emulsiones aceite en agua ya que estos sistemas lipídicos constituyen un elevado número de alimentos, por ejemplo, leches, natas, mayonesas, sopas y salsas. En este trabajo, se revisa la situación actual del conocimiento sobre oxidación en emulsiones aceite en agua, incluyendo la descripción de las variables implicadas específicamente en la oxidación de estos sistemas (pH, presencia de la interfase, partición de reactivos y productos, interacciones con otros componentes) así como de las variables que afectan a la oxidación de los lípidos en general pero cuya acción en emulsiones presenta características particulares (oxígeno, grado de insaturación, presencia de antioxidantes y prooxidantes)

    Cooperative Learning for Disaggregated Delay Modeling in Multidomain Networks

    Accurate delay estimation is one of the enablers of future network connectivity services, as it facilitates the application layer to anticipate network performance. If such connectivity services require isolation (slicing), such delay estimation should not be limited to a maximum value defined in the Service Level Agreement, but to a finer-grained description of the expected delay in the form of, e.g., a continuous function of the load. Obtaining accurate end-to-end (e2e) delay modeling is even more challenging in a multi-operator (Multi-AS) scenario, where the provisioning of e2e connectivity services is provided across heterogeneous multi-operator (Multi-AS or just domains) networks. In this work, we propose a collaborative environment, where each domain Software Defined Networking (SDN) controller models intra-domain delay components of inter-domain paths and share those models with a broker system providing the e2e connectivity services. The broker, in turn, models the delay of inter-domain links based on e2e monitoring and the received intra-domain models. Exhaustive simulation results show that composing e2e models as the summation of intra-domain network and inter-domain link delay models provides many benefits and increasing performance over the models obtained from e2e measurements

    Quick spreading of the exotic amphipod Laticorophium baconi (Shoemaker, 1934): another small stowaway overlooked?

    Studies of non-indigenous species (NIS) often tend to focus on medium and large-sized taxa with potential for remarkable ecological and/or economic impact, whereas the early detection of small invertebrates is often delayed due to taxonomic chal lenge, lack of consistent, standardised monitoring efforts and limited funding. This study represents the first records of the marine amphipod Laticorophium baconi (Shoemaker, 1934) in Morocco, Tunisia, Corsica (France), Italy, Greece, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and New Caledonia (France). Furthermore, it reports an expansion of its known distribution in Portugal (earliest and northernmost record for the country and first record for Macaronesia), Spain (earliest record for Atlantic and Mediterranean European waters), and Australia (first record for Indian Ocean). Recreational boating and commercial shipping, mainly through hull fouling and sec ondarily ballast waters, are proposed as vectors for introduction and secondary spread of L. baconi. The following traits, analysed during the present study, could contribute to its invasive potential: (i) quick and extensive spread of the species worldwide, (ii) high densities in marinas, harbours, hull fouling and other artificial habitats, including aquaculture facilities and floating debris, (iii) high ability for short-term colonisation of empty artificial niches, (iv) diet based on detritus suggesting an opportunistic feed ing behaviour, and (v) population survival during seasonal fluctuations in different regions. Taxonomic expertise and scientific collaboration, based on multidisciplinary networks of experts, are crucial for the early detection, distribution updates, and risk assessment of small and overlooked stowaways in marine environments

    Results on main elasmobranches species from 2001 to 2020 Porcupine Bank (NE Atlantic) bottom trawl surveys

    This working document presents the results of the most significant elasmobranch species caught on the Porcupine Spanish Groundfish Survey (SP-PORC-Q3) in 2020. Biomass, abundance, distribution and length frequency were analysed for Galeus melastomus (blackmouth catshark), Deania calcea (birdbeak dogfish), Deania profundorum (arrowhead dogfish), Scymnodon ringens (knifetooth dogfish), Scyliorhinus canicula (lesser spotted dogfish), Etmopterus spinax (velvet belly lantern shark), Dalatias licha (kitefin shark), Hexanchus griseus (bluntnose sixgill shark), Dipturus nidarosiensis (Norwegian skate), Dipturus batis (common skate), Dipturus intermedius (common skate), Leucoraja circularis (sandy ray) and Leucoraja naevus (cuckoo ray), Squalus acanthias (picked dogfish) and Raja clavata (thornback ray). In 2020 the biomass of D. calcea, S. ringens, D. nidarosiensis, H. griseus and D. licha increased, whereas it decreased for G. melastomus, S. canicula, E. spinax and L. circularis. Signs of recruitment were found for S. ringens and E. spinax. Only a few specimens of S. acanthias, D. profundorum, R. clavata, D. batis, L. naevus and D. intermedius were captured. The species R. montagui, with regular presence in the historical series, was not found in 2020 survey

The species Centroscyllium fabricii and Neoraja caerulea were captured for the first time in the survey. The species D. profundorum and D. intermedius, with regular presence in the historical series, were not found in 2021 survey

    We consider a deformation of Segal-Bargmann space and its transform. We study L^p properties of this transform and obtain entropy-entropy inequalities (Hirschman) and entropy-energy inequalities (log-Sobolev) that generalize the corresponding known results in the undeformed theory.Comment: 42 pages, 3 figure
