Reports on pregnancy and delivery issues in women with congenital myopathies are scarce. In this review, we summarize the medical literature along with updates of our own data. Included are patients with nemaline myopathy (n = 11), central core disease (n = 6), multi-minicore disease (n = 2), cytoplasmic body myopathy (n = 1), and congenital fiber-type disproportion (n = 1). Apart from 1 patient with nemaline myopathy, who had used a wheelchair from the age of 18 years, all other women were able to walk when becoming pregnant. In comparison with the general population, there were no increased pregnancy or delivery complications, apart from the fact that 38% elective Cesarean sections took place. Neonatal outcome was favorable. In cases where a possible influence of gestation on muscle function was assessed, a deterioration during or after pregnancy was not observed. Patients who wish to have children should be advised by a multidisciplinary team according to the specific diagnosis, severity, and distribution of muscle weakness. (C) 2019 Elsevier Inc. For the first time biochemical analysis of inguinal adipose tissue of korean mouse (Apodemus peninsulae) and short-tailed vole (Microtus agrestis) have performed. Expression of uncoupling protein UCP1 in inguinal fat was combined with high metabolic and oxidative activity of this fat depot in wild rodents, in comparison with laboratory mice. Studies of the adipose tissues in animals from natural populations can be useful for the elucidating of the physiological norm of their functioning and for the development of regimes for the prevention and correction of metabolic disorders

Neither maternal nor fetal mutation (E474Q) in the α-subunit of the trifunctional protein is frequent in pregnancies complicated by HELLP syndrome

Objective: An association between maternal HELLP syndrome and fetal long chain 3-hydroxyacyl-CoA dehydrogenase (LCHAD) deficiency has been proposed. LCHAD catalyzes the third step in the β-oxidation of fatty acids in mitochondria. Whereas about 75% of LCHAD-deficient patients carry a G-to-C mutation at nucleotide position 1528 (Glu474Gln, E474Q) on both chromosomes, compound heterozygosity for E474Q on one chromosome and a second different LCHAD mutation on the other can be observed in up to 25% of LCHAD-deficiency cases; only very few patients carry two mutations different from E474Q. Genetic analysis of the mother alone is insufficient in case of compound heterozygosity. Since information on the fetal carrier status of the E474Q mutation in maternal HELLP syndrome is rare, we investigated the frequency of the E474Q mutation in families where the mother had HELLP syndrome. Methods: The occurrence of the E474Q mutation was analyzed by PCR and RFLP in 103 mothers with HELLP syndrome, in 82 children of affected pregnancies and in 21 fathers in families where fetal DNA was not available. In addition, 103 control women with only uncomplicated pregnancies were investigated. Results: The mutation E474Q was not detected in the study population. Conclusion: Neither maternal nor fetal heterozygosity for the E474Q mutation is a relevant factor of HELLP syndrom

The object of design and development is a model for determining the most probable duration of tasks using neural networks and risk analysis for tasks. In the course of the research, a risk analysis was carried out and a service was developed for generating risk factors for tasks, on the basis of which a model was selected for further implementation. As a result, a neural network model was proposed that allows you to analyze factors by task and predict labor costs. In the course of the analysis, such parameters were selected at which the model predicts labor costs with high accuracy

Lung region segmentation based on computer tomographic images

The article is written for the benefit of hospitals in order to identify segments of the lungs and thereby help in the process of bisecting lungs according to their respective segments during surgery. Further research in this area can also help in identification of various abnormalities related to each segment and also identify abnormal walls of unhealthy lungs. Segmentation of the lungs has not been implemented in reality, as the lung, being an organ with dynamic chest volumes during respiratory cycles, makes it impossible to address changes during respiration unlike fixed structures like the brain. Further, abnormalities situated on the walls of lung segments, make it more difficult to address volume changes concerned with the lungs. The author of this paper has provided a more effective method to identify various lung segments by using various well known segmentation techniques combined together to identify moving lung image segments more effectively
