Raksts veltīts vienam no fundamentāli nozīmīgajiem Latvijas Universitātes zinātniekiem, kurš ir viens no mūsdienu Latvijas fizikas zinātnes pamatlicējiem - Fricis Gulbis. Raksta centrā ir F. Gulbja Triju Zvaigžņu ordenis, kas ilgtermiņā glabājas Latvijas Universitātes Muzeja krājumā. Tiek uzsvērts, ka F. Gulbis bija zinātnieks ar lielām darba spējām un pieredzi, kurš spēja no pašiem pamatiem izveidot akadēmisku fizikas zinātni neatkarīgajā Latvijas valstī, saņemot no Latvijas valsts puses vienu no visprestižākajiem apbalvojumiem. Paša zinātnieka izveidotā fizikas zinātne turpināja eksistēt PSRS un nacionālsociālistiskās Vācijas okupācijas laikā, kas pēc Latvijas valsts neatkarības atjaunošanas turpina attīstīties, kļūstot par starptautiski konkurētspējīgu un pieprasītu zinātnes nozari.The article is dedicated to one of the fundamentally important scientists of the University of Latvia, who is one of the founders of modern Latvian physics - Fricis Gulbis. The focus of the article is Fricis Gulbis Three Star Order, which is in the long-term collection of the Museum of the University of Latvia. It is emphasised that F. Gulbis was a scientist of great ability and experience, who was able to establish academic physical science from the ground up in the independent Latvian state, receiving one of the most prestigious awards from the Latvian state. The physics, which he created, continued to exist during the occupation of the USSR and National Socialist Germany, and has continued to develop since the restoration of Latvia's independence, becoming an internationally competitive science

Rīgas Politehnikuma studentu disciplinēšanas regula

Raksts ir tapis Studentu karcera ilgtermiņa pētnieciskā darba ietvaros, kur par pētāmo objektu izvēlēts Rīgas Politehnikuma/Rīgas Politehniskā institūta Studentu disciplinēšanas regulu. Tiek analizēti regulas panti Studentu karcera kontekstā, lai izvērtētu to formalitātes sakritību un nesakritību ar faktisko situāciju, konstatējot atšķirības studentu soda termiņu noteikšanā. Arī tiek veidotas paralēles ar analogu Studentu karceri, kas atrodas Heidelbergas universitātē, izšķirot kopīgo un atšķirīgo studentu karcera ieslēgšanas iemeslos, studentu etniskajā sastāvā, telpu iekārtojumā un sadzīves apstākļos.The article is written in the framework of the long-term research work of the Student solitary confinement cell, where the object of study is the regulation of student discipline at Riga Polytechnikum/Riga Polytechnical Institute. The articles of the Regulation are analysed in the context of the Student Penalty Code in order to assess their correspondence and discrepancies with the reality of the situation, identifying differences in the determination of student penalty periods. Parallels are also drawn with the analogous Student solitary confinement cell at the University of Heidelberg, distinguishing commonalities and differences in the reasons for locking in the Student solitary confinement cell, the ethnic composition of the students, the furnishing of the premises and the living conditions

The article is dedicated to the Latvian army general, founder of Latvian military history and honorary filister (honorary old member) of the Latvian Students fraternity "Tervetia" Martiņš Peniķis, describing his role in the history of the Latvian state and the University of Latvia, as well as his symbolic significance for the student fraternity itself. Raksts tapis par godu latviešu studentu korporācijas "Tervetia" Simtgadei 30.04.2022, kas veltīts vienai no tās regālijām - krāsu deķelim. Tiek aprakstīta krāsu deķeļa saglabāšana Latvijas Universitātes Muzejā, tā simboliskā nozīme un pieejamība sabiedrībai. Tiek skaidrots arī paša krāsu deķeļa izmantošanas reglaments, ko ikdienā ievēro pašas studentu korporācija biedri.This article was written on the occasion of the 100th Anniversary of the Latvian Student fraternity "Tervetia" 30.04.2022, which is dedicated to one of its Regalia - the Colour Deckel. The conservation of the Colour Deckel in the Museum of the University of Latvia, its symbolic meaning and its accessibility to the public are described. The regulations for the use of the Colour Deckel itself, which are observed on a daily basis by the members of the Student fraternity, are also explained

Jāzeps Rancāns un uzsaukums vēlēšanām Eslingenē

Raksts satur informāciju par Latvijas Universitātes Muzeja LU vēstures kolekcijas krājumā esošo Latvijas Centrālās padomes locekļa Jāzepa Rancāna vēlēšanu uzsaukumu Eslingenes latviešiem, kuri nonāca trimdā sakarā ar otrreizējo PSRS okupāciju pēc Otrā pasaules kara. Blakus Eslingenes vēlēšanu uzsaukuma analīzei tiek analizēt arī paša J. Rancāna personības loma Latvijas valsts un LU vēsturē, sasaistot ar Romas katoļu baznīcas lomu Latvijas politiskajā un sabiedriskajā dzīvē.The article contains information about the draft election of the Member of the Latvian Central Council, Jāzeps Rancāns, in the stock of the History collection of the University of Latvia Museum, for Eslingenes Latvians who came into exile due to the secondary occupation of the USSR after Second World war. Voldemārs Ozols – no virsnieka līdz pasniedzējam

Raksts veltīts vienai no vispretrunīgi vērtētajām un skandalozākajām personībām Latvijas vēsturē, kas ir pazīstama kā Voldemārs Ozols. Līdz šim vēstures pētniecībā uzmanība tikusi pievērsta viņa militāri-politiskajai darbībai kā profesionāls armijas virsniekam, taču viņa saistība ar padomju okupācijas periodu LU vēsturē (Latvijas Valsts Universitāte, LVU) nav bijusi uzmanības centrā. Rakstā tiek skaidrots, kā V. Ozols no virsnieka dažādās valstu armijās (Krievijas impērijas, Igaunijas, Latvijas, Lietuvas un Spānijas Republikas) kļuva par LVU Ģeogrāfijas fakultātes pasniedzēju, ejot cauri vētrainajiem 20. gs. pirmās puses notikumiem.The article is dedicated to one of the most controversial and scandalous personalities in Latvian history, known as Voldemārs Ozols. Until now, historical research has focused on his military-political activity as a professional army officer, but his connection with the period of Soviet occupation has not been the focus of attention in the History of the Latvian State University (LVU). The article explains how Voldemārs Ozols went from being an officer in the armies of various countries (the Russian Empire, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and the Spanish Republic) to becoming a lecturer at the Faculty of Geography of LVU, passing through the turbulent events of the first half of the 20th century

Pēteris Čevers – no LU studenta līdz nacionālajam partizānam

The article is a supplement to the biography of the professional Latvian officer Pēteris Čevers. Until now, little research has been done on the academic life of P. Čevers - his studies at the University of Latvia and his involvement in the life of the Latvian student fraternity Fraternitas Metropolitana. Based on the documents of the Latvian State Historical Archives and existing published research on P. Čevers as a Latvian national partisan, an innovative study of the unknown facts of P. Čevers personality, especially the internal problems of his student fraternal life and the maintaining of links with the University of Latvia through the Fraternitas Metropolitana, has been created. It also broadens the horizons of his World War II experiences on the Eastern Front.Raksts sagatavots kā papildinājums profesionālā latviešu virsnieka Pētera Čevera biogrāfijai. Līdz šim mazpētīta bijusi P. Čevera iesaite akadēmiskajā dzīvē - studijas Latvijas Universitātē un iesaiste latviešu studentu korporācijas Fraternitas Metropolitana dzīvē. Balstoties uz Latvijas Valsts vēstures arhīva dokumentiem un esošajiem publicētajiem pētījumiem par P. Čeveru kā latviešu nacionālo partizānu, izveidots novatorisks pētījums par P. Čevera personības nezināmajām lappusēm, sevišķi viņa studentu korporācijas dzīves iekšējām problēmām un saikņu saglabāšanu ar Latvijas Universitāti caur Fraternitas Metropolitana. Paplašināts arī redzesloks par viņa Otrā pasaules kara gaitām Austrumu frontē

Akadēmiskās paukošanās ekipējums

Rakstā analizēta akadēmiskās paukošanās nozīme studentu korporāciju vidē, skaidrojot tās vēsturi un ideoloģisko nozīmi godu lietu risināšanā. Raksts ir balstīts uz 2021. gada decembra mēneša priekšmetu - Latviešu studentu korporācijas Fraternitas Cursica akadēmiskās paukošanās inventāru, kas pastāvīgi glabājās LU Muzeja krājumā vairāk kā 10 gadus. Tiek skaidrots arī, ka akadēmiskā paukošanās ir sporta veids, kas izpaužās ar akadēmiskās paukošanās turnīru organizēšanu studentu korporāciju starpā Latvijā un visā Baltijā.The article analyses the importance of academical fencing in the environment of student fraternities, explaining its history and ideological importance in dealing with honors. The article is based on the item of the month of December 2021 - the academic fencing equipment of the Latvian student fraternity Fraternitas Cursica, which has been kept permanently in the stock of the Museum of the University of Latvia for more than 10 years. It is also explained that academic fencing is a sport which has developed through organizing academic fencing tournaments between student fraternities in Latvia and across the Baltic states

Rakstā tiek skaidrota LU prof. Konstantīna Čakstes piemiņas tradīcijas uzsākšana LU, skaidrojot tā cēloņus (K. Čakstes kapavietas atklāšana), norisi (K. Čakstes piemiņas plāksnes atklāšana) un sekas (K. Čakstes piemiņas kopšana un tā labums LU Muzejam kā pētnieciskai atmiņu institūcija). Par raksta pamatu izvēlēta vēsturiska fotogrāfija, kurā attēlota K. Čakstes piemiņas plāksnes atklāšana, taču izmantots arī citu avotu un literatūras klāsts raksta sagatavošanā. Raksts sagatavots Latvijas valsts un LU 105 gadu jubileju ietvaros, kas mijas kopā ar pašreizējo starptautisko spriedzi - Krievijas-Ukrainas kara eskalāciju.The article explains the start of the commemoration of the professor of the University of Latvia Konstantīns Čakste, explaining its causes (the discovery of K. Čakste's grave), process (the unveiling of K. Čakste's memorial plaque) and consequences (its benefit for the University of Latvia and its Museum as a research institution of memory). The basis of the article is a historical photograph of the unveiling of the K. Čakste commemorative plaque, but a range of other sources and literature have also been used in the preparation of the article. The article is written in the context of the 105th anniversary of the Latvian state and the 105th anniversary of the University of Latvia, which coincides with the current international tensions - the escalation of the Russia-Ukraine war

Raksts izveidots, balstoties uz 2020. gada novembra mēneša priekšmetu. Mēneša priekšmets ir izvēlēts, aktualizējot 1991. gada Barikāžu 30 gadskārtu, skatoties LU vēstures kontekstā. Tiek analizēta un vērtēta LU loma LTF darbībā un tās cīņā par neatkarīgas Latvijas valsts atjaunošanu PSRS pēdējās pastāvēšanas laikā. Pielikumā rakstam nāk audio intervijas ar LTF LU nodaļas biedriem, kuri dalās savos pieredzes stāstos par vētrainajiem Trešās atmodas notikumiem LU un LU saimes attieksmi pret tiem.This article is based on the November 2020 museum subject of the Museum of the University of Latvia. The subject of the month has been chosen to highlight the 30th anniversary of the 1991 Barricades in the context of the history of the University of Latvia. The role of the UL in the activities of the Latvian Popular front and its struggle for the restoration of an independent Latvian state during the last years of the USSR is analysed and evaluated. The article is accompanied by audio interviews with members of the University of Latvia department of the Latvian Popular front, who share their experiences of the turbulent events of the Third Awakening at UL
