ENERGIZE LEARNERS TO USE SCIENTIFIC APPROACH AND INTERACTIVE MEDIA IN TEACHING SCIENCE
Abstract: Science competence is learning outcome of students achieved as the result of their exploration throughscience learning process that cover of tree aspects: 1) knowledge of science products, 2) science process skills, and3) scientific attitude. The objective of this research is to increase science competence of elementary students gradeIV through science learning process make use of scientific approach with interactive multimedia. Scientificapproach that used including 5 (five) learning phases, that areengage, explore, explain, elaborate, and evaluate.Learning multimedia that used including: 1) information computer technology (ICT) based multimedia, 2) manualmultimedia, and 3) simple science visual aid and science games card. The research method used in this research isclassroom action research. This research is conducted at two elementary schools that used curriculum 2013, thatare: SekolahDasar Pertiwi I and SD Polisi I Kota Bogor. This research is conducted during one semester that is firstsemester of year 2013/2014. Multimedia of learning science designed refers to learning themes on curriculum 2013,teacher’s book, and student’s book. The research findings are: 1) Implementation of scientific approach withinteractive multimedia is able to increase science competence of elementary students grade IV; 2) Nurturant effectof implementation of scientific approach with interactive multimedia is there is increasing of curiousity, interest,motivation, expectation, needs, and self-confidence of elementary school students’ grade IV in learning science.Implications of this research are to increase the science competence of students’ need creativity and innovation ofthe science teachers’ in designing science learning models and science multimedia so that science learning processhave more certain quality. And then, school as institution must complete ICT facilities and also supported byteachers’ science competencies to use it, so that learning science process is more interesting, fun, resourceful, andeffectively achieve the learning objectives.Keywords: science competence, interactive multimedia, and scientific approach
Comparison Analysis of Temperature Treatment on Cutleaf Groundcherrys Leaf and Stem
The mouth has a normal microflorane of bacteria as the body's defense. Streptococcus mutans bacteria arebacteria that colonize the surface of teeth which have a role in the formation of dental caries. The leaves ofciplukan (Physalis angulata L.) are rich in polyphenols, alkaloids, and flavonoids which are reported to havequite good antimicrobial activity. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of ethanol extract ofciplukan leaves and stalks mouthwash on Streptococcus mutans bacteria. This rese arch method is purelylaboratory experimental using Streptococcus mutans bacteria culture. The antibacterial power test used theliquid dilution method which was then followed by solid dilution with an incubation period of 28 ° C. Thestatistical analysis test used a descriptive test. The results showed that the ethanol extract of the leaves andstems of ciplukan (Physalis angulata L.) had a minimum inhibitory level (MIC) and a minimum kill rate(MBC) at the same concentration, namely 15%. The temperature of the human oral cavity in cold places tendsto change because the mouth is very close to the outside environment, so this mouthwash can berecommended to minimize bacterial growth in cold areas.
KEANEKARAGAMAN INSEKTA (ORDO LEPIDOPTERA) DI PUSAT SUAKA SATWA ELANG JAWA BOGOR
The Javan Eagle Wildlife Sanctuary Center (PSSEJ) is one of the regions in Indonesia that has a high diversity of flora and fauna in Bogor, West Java. One of the fauna that live in PSSEJ is an insect of the order Lepidoptera. The limited information about Lepidoptera in this location causes the data on the diversity of these species to not be known with certainty. It is necessary to research the diversity of Lepidoptera. This study aims to study the species diversity of the order Lepidoptera at the Javan Eagle Wildlife Sanctuary Center. This research is an exploratory research conducted from December 2020 to August 2021 in two routes, namely track 1 (camping ground area) and route 2 (officer entrance route and land use). The research method uses a survey method using a sweeping net technique. Collecting data in the form of primary data covering the number of Lepidoptera species and secondary data covering temperature, humidity and light intensity. Based on the research, it was found 39 species of the order Lepidoptera with a moderate diversity index of 2.84, a high evenness index of 0.87 and a low dominance index of 0.08. Keywords: Diversity, Javan Eagle Sanctuary Center, Lepidopter
Diversity of Amphibians (Order Anura) in Cibodas Resort Tourism Route, Gunung Gede Pangrango National Park
Cibodas Resort is one of the protected areas in Gunung Gede Pangrango National Park which is capable of supporting amphibian life. Amphibians can be used as bioindicators of environmental quality, especially aquatic ones. Amphibian studies are found to be interesting, but publications on amphibian data, especially at Resort Cibodas, are still rare. The publications regarding amphibian data of the Anura order, especially in the Cibodas Resort, have not been found. This Study aimed to determine the diversity of amphibians of the Order Anura in the Cibodas Resort tourist route. This research was an exploratory research conducted from September to October 2021. The research method used the Visual Encounter Survey method combined with the Line Transect method by following a predetermined path. The data was retrieved through the form of primary data (number of species of the Order of Anura in the Cibodas Resort tourist route). Based on the results of research at 3 sites, 12 species from 6 families were found with 192 individuals. The diversity index is classified as moderate with a value of 2.15, the evenness index is classified as high with a value of 0.86, and the dominance index is classified as low with a value of 0.14. The species that dominate in the 3 observation sites are from the family Ranidae namely Odorrana hosii and Huia masonii, the family Rhacophoridae namely Rhacophorus margaritifer and the family Dicroglossidae namely Limnonectes kuhlii and L. microdiscus
PENGEMBANGAN BUKU SAKU MATERI MAMALIA DI TAMAN MARGASATWA RAGUNAN UNTUK MENINGKATKAN PENGUASAAN KONSEP SISWA
This study aims to develop a pocket book in learning biology in order to increase students enthusiasm for learning and is an effort to improve students mastery of concepts. The research was carried out on class X high school students. Data collection was carried out at Ragunan Wildlife Park, Jakarta. The research was carried out in the even semester of the 2019/2020 school year, January to June 2020. The method used in this study was the research and development method using the 4-D (Four D) model, namely Define, Design (Design). , Develop (Development), and Disseminate (Spread). The development of teaching materials is carried out in two stages, namely: Expert Validation and Revision of Learning Media. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the pocket book Mammals of the Primate order which was developed with the define, design, develop stage has met the components that are in accordance with KD in the 2013 curriculum, the language used is easy to understand, the presentation of a pocket book that is full of color and the images shown are very supportive of the material. learning so that it can attract the readers attention. The Primate Order Mammals pocket book shows valid results and is suitable for use in biology learning. The average value of expert validation from the content / content aspect was 83.5 percent, the language aspect was 83 percent, and the presentation aspect was 82.5 percent
The Effectiveness of Online Learning on Students TPACK based Teaching Instrument
The aim of the study is to depict the effectiveness of online learning on the students ability to write TPACK based teaching instruments during the pandemic. The subjects of the research were 15 students of pre-service student-teacher candidates of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Educational Science, Pakuan University, the academic year 2020-2021. The approach of the study is quantitative with questionnaires, and documents as the instruments. The result of the study shows that online learning has not reached the maximum effect on the students ability to write TPACK-based teaching instruments, although the result is considered fair. Meanwhile, the teachers still need to get the knowledge on how to integrate materials using digital applications and mix them into interesting teaching materials and media
The Effect of the Scientific Approach with Comic Intelligent Media Support on Students’ Science Competencies
This study aims to test the effectiveness of the use of intelligent comic media combined with the process of learning with scientific approach onstudents’ science competence. The research method used is quasi experimental method with 2x2 factorial design. The study involved four teachers and 112 students of grade 4 from SDN Pertiwi, SDN Polisi 1, SDN Kebon Pedes 1, and SDN Kebon Pedes 5 in Bogor city. The study was conducted in the first half of the academic year 2014/2015. This study concludes that the use of intelligent comics combinedunitedly in the learning process with scientific approach significantly influence the science competence of grade 4 elementary school students on the aspects of knowledge and scientific attitude, but does not significantly affect the competence of science for the aspects of science process skills. This study also concludes that there is no interaction between the learning process as the treatment variable and the involvement of the students in the out-of-school learning guidance (tutorial) as the moderator variable. That is, the influence of the learning process on the students’competence of science on aspects of knowledge and scientific attitudes are not contaminated by the involvement of the students in the guidance of learning
RESPONS SISWA TERHADAP MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN APLIKASI CAMTASIA DENGAN METODE KONTEKSTUAL PADA PEMBELAJARAN TEKS PROSEDUR KELAS VII SMP
The real problems in the field found that the learning activities of this procedure text are still less effective in using learning media in general, seen from the results of observations by interviewing students that students feel bored with learning procedure text because the learning media used only use textbooks that contain text and theory only. The purpose of this study was to determine the response of students after applying video learning media and applying contextual learning methods which are learning concepts to help teachers connect material with applications in everyday life. The research method used is descriptive quantitative, based on the research that has been done, the author uses a questionnaire instrument to find out the students' response to the procedure text material using video-based learning media, the research subject is SMPN 3 BATUJAJAR students, the population in this study are class VII A students with a total of 25 students, the following student questionnaire results get a percentage of 75.2%, thus it can be concluded that the application of learning methods and camtasia application learning media gets a positive response from students
PENERAPAN TEKNIK DIAGRAM ROUNDHOUSE MELALUI MODEL PEMBELAJARAN COOPERATIVE INTEGRATED READING AND COMPOSITION UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR BIOLOGI
Pencapaian nilai Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM) yang masih rendah, khusus materi keanekaragaman hayati menjadi alasan penelitian tindakan kelas (Classroom Action Reserch) ini dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar Biologi dengan menggunakan Teknik Diagram Roundhouse melalui Model Pembelajaran Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC). Penelitian dilakukan di kelas X MIA 3 SMA Negeri 7 Kota Bogor, pada bulan September-November 2015, dengan jumlah siswa 32 orang. Proses penelitian dilakukan dalam dua siklus. Setiap siklus ada 4 tahap: perencanaan tindakan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Setiap akhir siklus dilakukan evaluasi dengan instrumen yang telah diuji validitas tes, uji reliabilitas item tes, dan uji tingkat kesukaran butir soal. Hasil penelitian menunjukan Teknik Diagram Roundhouse melalui Model Pembelajaran CIRC dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar Biologi. Terlihat dari nilai rata-rata hasil belajar kognitif siklus I siswa kelas X MIA 3 yaitu 76 dengan persentase ketuntasan 63% dan rata-rata pada siklus II meningkat menjadi 80 dengan persentase ketuntasan 84%. Selain ranah kognitif, hasil belajar ranah afektif menunjukan rata-rata afektif siswa pada siklus I 78,31 dan mengalami peningkatan pada siklus II menjadi 83,90. Berdasarkan hasil yang dicapai, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan teknik diagram Roundhouse melalui model pembelajaran CIRC untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar Biologi dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar Biologi kelas X MIA 3 SMA Negeri 7 Kota Bogor
The Effect of Teams Games Tournament (TGT) and Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) Teaching Techniques on The Learning Outcome of Natural Science Subject
The Effect of Teams Games Tournament (TGT) and Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) Teaching Techniques on the Learning Outcome of Natural Science Subject to the students of fifth grade at V SDN Cijujung 03 Kecamatan Bogor. The research employs quasi experimental method and it shows that the average score of the class using TGT gets 7.4% with the N-gain of 1.26 and the class using Student Teams Achievement Divisions gets 5.7% with N-gain of 1.02. The T-tailed score significance or 0.000.05 or Ha is accepted. It can be inferred that there is a significant effect of using  TGT and STAD on natural science subject of class 5 at SDN Cijujung 03 in the district of Bogor, the academic year of 2014-2015
