On the first-order rewritability of conjunctive queries over binary guarded existential rules
We study conjunctive query answering and first-order rewritability of conjunctive queries for binary guarded existential rules. In particular, we prove that the problem of establishing whether a given set of binary guarded existential rules is such that all conjunctive queries admit a first-order rewriting is decidable, and present a technique for solving this problem. These results have a important practical impact, since they make it possible to identify those sets of binary guarded existential rules for which it is possible to answer every conjunctive query through query rewriting and standard evaluation of a first-order query (actually, a union of conjunctive queries) over a relational database system
Bounded Implication for Existential Rules
The property of boundedness in Datalog formalizes whether a set of rules can be equivalently expressed by a non-recursive set of rules. Existential rules extend Datalog to the presence of existential variables in rule heads. In this paper, we introduce and study notions of boundedness for existential rules. We provide a notion of weak boundedness and a notion of strong boundedness for a rule set, and show that they correspond, respectively, to the notions of first-order rewritability of atomic queries and first-order rewritability of conjunctive queries over the set. While weak and strong boundedness are in general not equivalent, we show that, for some notable subclasses of existential rules, i.e., Datalog, single-head binary rules, and frontier-guarded rules, the two notions coincide
A photographic system for the three-dimensional study of facial morphology.
Abstract
Objectives: To test whether digital photographs supported by three-dimensional (3D) software are suitable for measuring the facial soft tissues of healthy subjects as compared with data obtained by a certified 3D computerized electromagnetic digitizer.
Materials and Methods: Three-dimensional soft tissue facial landmarks were obtained from the faces of 15 healthy young adults, using a 3D computerized electromagnetic digitizer and a new low-cost photogrammetry system. Twelve linear and 18 angular measurements were computed. Errors between methods and repeatability of the new method were calculated.
Results: Systematic errors between methods were found for only two distances and three angles (paired t-test, P < .05). The mean absolute differences between methods were always lower than 3 mm and 3 degrees. Repeated digitization of photographs showed that the method was repeatable (no systematic differences; random errors lower than 1.6 mm and 3 degrees). Repeated sets of photographs showed random errors of up to 5.3 mm and 5.6 degrees, without systematic biases.
Conclusion: The 3D photogrammetry system can provide reliable facial measurements. The method is relatively fast and requires only inexpensive equipment. It is simple to use for private practice, research, or other practice

Cyberdrugs: a cross-sectional study of online pharmacies characteristics
As e-commerce and online pharmacies (OPs) arose, the potential impact of the Internet on the world of health shifted from merely the spread of information to a real opportunity to acquire health services directly. Aim of the study was to investigate the offer of prescription drugs in OPs, analysing their characteristics, using the content analysis method. The research performed using the Google search engine led to an analysis of 118 online pharmacies. Only 51 (43.2%) of them stated their precise location. Ninety-six (81.4%) online pharmacies did not require a medical prescription from the customer's physician. Online pharmacies rise complex issues in terms of patient-doctor relationship, consumer empowerment, drug quality, regulation and public health implication
Semantic Analysis of R2RML Mappings for Ontology-Based Data Access
Ontology-based data access (OBDA) deals with the problem of accessing autonomous data sources through a shared, virtual ontology, and declarative mappings connecting the data sources to the ontology. The W3C standard R2RML allows for mapping relational data sources to RDFS/OWL ontologies. In this paper, we present algorithms for the semantic analysis of R2RML mappings in the OBDA setting, when the ontology is expressed in OWL 2 QL. The focus of such algorithms is to identify the main semantical anomalies (inconsistency and redundancy) of a mapping specification with respect to the ontology and/or the data sources. Such algorithms have been implemented in the mapping analysis tool developed within the Optique European project. We also report on the experiments conducted within the Optique project use cases
An individual-based dataset of carbon and nitrogen isotopic data of Callinectes sapidus in invaded Mediterranean waters
[EN] Background The characterisation of functional traits of non-indigenous and invasive species is crucial to assess their impact within invaded habitats. Successful biological invasions are often facilitated by the generalist diet of the invaders which can modify their trophic position and adapt to new ecosystems determining changes in their structure and functioning. Invasive crustaceans are an illustrative example of such mechanisms since their trophic habits can determine important ecological impacts on aquatic food webs. The Atlantic blue crab Callinectes sapidus is currently established and considered invasive in the Mediterranean Sea where it has been recorded for the first time between 1947 and 1949. In the last decade, the blue crab colonised most of the eastern and central Mediterranean Sea and the Black Sea and it is currently widening its distribution towards the western region of the basin.

Stable isotope analysis is increasingly used to investigate the trophic habits of invasive marine species. Here, we collated individual measures of the blue crab d C and d N values and of its potential invertebrate prey into a geo-referenced dataset. The dataset includes 360 records with 236 isotopic values of the blue crab and 224 isotopic data of potential prey collected from five countries and 12 locations between 2014 and 2019.
