    Study of the BΛc+ΛˉcKB^{-} \to \Lambda_{c}^{+} \bar{\Lambda}_{c}^{-} K^{-} decay

    The decay BΛc+ΛˉcKB^{-} \to \Lambda_{c}^{+} \bar{\Lambda}_{c}^{-} K^{-} is studied in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of s=13\sqrt{s}=13 TeV using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5 fb1\mathrm{fb}^{-1} collected by the LHCb experiment. In the Λc+K\Lambda_{c}^+ K^{-} system, the Ξc(2930)0\Xi_{c}(2930)^{0} state observed at the BaBar and Belle experiments is resolved into two narrower states, Ξc(2923)0\Xi_{c}(2923)^{0} and Ξc(2939)0\Xi_{c}(2939)^{0}, whose masses and widths are measured to be m(Ξc(2923)0)=2924.5±0.4±1.1MeV,m(Ξc(2939)0)=2938.5±0.9±2.3MeV,Γ(Ξc(2923)0)=0004.8±0.9±1.5MeV,Γ(Ξc(2939)0)=0011.0±1.9±7.5MeV, m(\Xi_{c}(2923)^{0}) = 2924.5 \pm 0.4 \pm 1.1 \,\mathrm{MeV}, \\ m(\Xi_{c}(2939)^{0}) = 2938.5 \pm 0.9 \pm 2.3 \,\mathrm{MeV}, \\ \Gamma(\Xi_{c}(2923)^{0}) = \phantom{000}4.8 \pm 0.9 \pm 1.5 \,\mathrm{MeV},\\ \Gamma(\Xi_{c}(2939)^{0}) = \phantom{00}11.0 \pm 1.9 \pm 7.5 \,\mathrm{MeV}, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. The results are consistent with a previous LHCb measurement using a prompt Λc+K\Lambda_{c}^{+} K^{-} sample. Evidence of a new Ξc(2880)0\Xi_{c}(2880)^{0} state is found with a local significance of 3.8σ3.8\,\sigma, whose mass and width are measured to be 2881.8±3.1±8.5MeV2881.8 \pm 3.1 \pm 8.5\,\mathrm{MeV} and 12.4±5.3±5.8MeV12.4 \pm 5.3 \pm 5.8 \,\mathrm{MeV}, respectively. In addition, evidence of a new decay mode Ξc(2790)0Λc+K\Xi_{c}(2790)^{0} \to \Lambda_{c}^{+} K^{-} is found with a significance of 3.7σ3.7\,\sigma. The relative branching fraction of BΛc+ΛˉcKB^{-} \to \Lambda_{c}^{+} \bar{\Lambda}_{c}^{-} K^{-} with respect to the BD+DKB^{-} \to D^{+} D^{-} K^{-} decay is measured to be 2.36±0.11±0.22±0.252.36 \pm 0.11 \pm 0.22 \pm 0.25, where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second systematic and the third originates from the branching fractions of charm hadron decays.Comment: All figures and tables, along with any supplementary material and additional information, are available at https://cern.ch/lhcbproject/Publications/p/LHCb-PAPER-2022-028.html (LHCb public pages

    Measurement of the ratios of branching fractions R(D)\mathcal{R}(D^{*}) and R(D0)\mathcal{R}(D^{0})

    The ratios of branching fractions R(D)B(BˉDτνˉτ)/B(BˉDμνˉμ)\mathcal{R}(D^{*})\equiv\mathcal{B}(\bar{B}\to D^{*}\tau^{-}\bar{\nu}_{\tau})/\mathcal{B}(\bar{B}\to D^{*}\mu^{-}\bar{\nu}_{\mu}) and R(D0)B(BD0τνˉτ)/B(BD0μνˉμ)\mathcal{R}(D^{0})\equiv\mathcal{B}(B^{-}\to D^{0}\tau^{-}\bar{\nu}_{\tau})/\mathcal{B}(B^{-}\to D^{0}\mu^{-}\bar{\nu}_{\mu}) are measured, assuming isospin symmetry, using a sample of proton-proton collision data corresponding to 3.0 fb1{ }^{-1} of integrated luminosity recorded by the LHCb experiment during 2011 and 2012. The tau lepton is identified in the decay mode τμντνˉμ\tau^{-}\to\mu^{-}\nu_{\tau}\bar{\nu}_{\mu}. The measured values are R(D)=0.281±0.018±0.024\mathcal{R}(D^{*})=0.281\pm0.018\pm0.024 and R(D0)=0.441±0.060±0.066\mathcal{R}(D^{0})=0.441\pm0.060\pm0.066, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. The correlation between these measurements is ρ=0.43\rho=-0.43.     Single/cross-camera multiple-person tracking by graph matching

    National Natural Science Foundation of China [61100124, 21106095, 61170239, 61202168]; Elite Scholar Program of Tianjin UniversitySingle and cross-camera multiple person tracking in unconstrained condition is an extremely challenging task in computer vision. Facing the main difficulties caused by the existence of occlusion in single-camera scenario and the occurrence of transition in cross-camera scenario, we propose a unified framework formulated in graph matching with affinity constraints for both single and cross-camera tracking tasks. To our knowledge, our work is the first to unify two kinds of tracking problems with the same framework by graph matching. The proposed method consists of two steps, tracklet generation and tracklet association. First, we implement the modified part-based human detector and the Tracking-Modeling-Detection (TMD) method for tracklet generation. Then we propose to associate tracklets by graph matching which is mathematically formulated into the Rayleigh Quotients Maximization. The comparison experiments show that the proposed method can produce the competing results with the state-of-the-art methods. (C) 2014 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved

In this work, we present a wireless 2D and 3D switchable video communication to handle the previous chal- lenges, and name it as Stereotime. The methods of Zig-Zag fast object segmentation, depth cues detection and merging, and texture-adaptive view generation are used for 3D scene reconstruction.     Environment-Dependent Distribution of the Sediment nifH-Harboring Microbiota in the Northern South China Sea

This suggests that sediment microbial N-2 fixation plays an important role in the production of bioavailable nitrogen. To test the molecular underpinning of this hypothesis, the diversity, abundance, biogeographical distribution, and community structure of the sediment diazotrophic microbiota were investigated at 12 sampling sites, including estuarine, coastal, offshore, deep-sea, and methane hydrate reservoirs or their prospective areas by targeting nifH and some other functional biomarker genes. Diverse and novel nifH sequences were obtained, significantly extending the evolutionary complexity of extant nifH genes. Statistical analyses indicate that sediment in situ temperature is the most significant environmental factor influencing the abundance, community structure, and spatial distribution of the sediment nifH-harboring microbial assemblages in the northern SCS (nSCS). The significantly positive correlation of the sediment pore water NH4+ concentration with the nifH gene abundance suggests that the nSCS sediment nifH-harboring microbiota is active in N-2 fixation and NH4+ production. Several other environmental factors, including sediment pore water PO43- concentration, sediment organic carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus levels, etc., are also important in influencing the community structure, spatial distribution, or abundance of the nifH-harboring microbial assemblages. We also confirmed that the nifH genes encoded by archaeal diazotrophs in the ANME-2c subgroup occur exclusively in the deep-sea methane seep areas, providing for the possibility to develop ANME-2c nifH genes as a diagnostic tool for deep-sea methane hydrate reservoir discovery

    Inhibition of the ILK-AKT pathway by upregulation of PARVB contributes to the cochlear cell death in Fascin2 gene knockout mice

    Abstract The Fscn2 (Fascin2) gene encodes an actin cross-linking protein that is involved in the formation of hair cell stereocilia and retina structure. Mutations in Fscn2 gene have been linked to hearing impairment and retinal degeneration in humans and mice. To understand the function of the Fscn2 gene, we generated the Fscn2 knockout mice, which showed progressive loss of hearing and hair cells. Our goal of the present study was to investigate the mechanism underlying cochlear cell death in the Fscn2 knockout mice. Microarray analysis revealed upregulation of expression of PARVB, a local adhesion protein, in the inner ears of Fscn2 knockout mice at 8 weeks of age. Further studies showed increased levels of PARVB together with cleaved-Caspase9 and decreased levels of ILK, p-ILK, p-AKT, and Bcl-2 in the inner ears of Fscn2 knockout mice of the same age. Knockdown of Fscn2 in HEI-OCI cells led to decreased cell proliferation ability and migration rate, along with increased levels of PARVB and decreased levels of ILK, p-ILK, p-AKT, Bcl-2 and activated Rac1 and Cdc42. Overexpression of Fscn2 or inhibition of Parvb expression in HEI-OC1 cells promoted cell proliferation and migration, with increased levels of ILK, p-ILK, p-AKT, and Bcl-2. Finally, FSCN2 binds with PPAR-γ to reduce its nuclear translocation in HEI-OC1 cells, and inhibition of PPAR-γ by GW9662 decreased the level of PARVB and increased the levels of p-AKT, p-ILK, and Bcl-2. Our results suggest that FSCN2 negatively regulates PARVB expression by inhibiting the entry of PPAR-γ into the cell nucleus, resulting in inhibition of ILK-AKT related pathways and of cochlear cell survival in Fscn2 knockout mice. Our findings provide new insights and ideas for the prevention and treatment of genetic hearing loss
