ArticleThe aim of this study was to evaluate the exposure of individual workers to ergonomic risk factors associated with upper, lower extremities and trunk WRMSDs and to assess entire body posture for risk of WRMSDs. The company that produces finished metal products (ironing boards) was chosen for the research. Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) was used to assess the entire body posture for risk of WRMSDs. Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA) method was used for ironing boards employees to evaluate exposure of the neck, trunk, arms and legs in relation to physical load. Our study proved that employees are subjected to WRMSDs due to the load on certain body parts during the work: shoulder and neck area, lower back, legs and arms. Forced work postures are an essential risk factor at work. Assemblers and packers are subdued to high risk level, but inspectors – to medium risk level, which corresponds to evaluation with RULA and REBA methods

    Get PDF
In the State of Qatar, road engineers started using RAP in the base course of asphalt pavement from past few years. The use of RAP not only replaces the quantity of virgin aggregate and binder, it also improves the overall stiffness of asphalt mixture due to the addition of aged asphalt binder. Considering the economic and environmental benefits of RAP, in this study, a mix design was developed for asphalt mixtures containing different proportions of RAP and evaluate the performance of RAP blended asphalt mixtures. Based on obtained properties, it was attempted to optimize the use of RAP content in the base course of asphalt pavement. In this study, the asphalt mixtures were produced with three different RAP contents (15, 25 and 35%) and the behavior of these mixtures was benchmarked with conventional mix (0% RAP). The RAP blended asphalt mixtures were tested using several experimental protocols. First, the stiffness modulus of RAP mixtures were determined using AASHTO test method. The high and low temperature distress characteristics of mixtures were determined using Hamburg wheel tracker and semi-circular beam bending test. Based on the stiffness and performance properties, a suitable RAP content and the ways to increase the use of RAP content was recommended

A potential means to fix minimize power consumption is using asynchronous sensor architectures that sample and transmit data only if a celebration is detected. A celebration-driven sensor consumes minimal power unless of course a celebration is detected. This paper presents the style of asynchronous ECG monitoring and knowledge transmission that cuts down on the circuitry power use of the sensor node without using power gating and requiring neither exterior energy storage devices nor a very like a time reference. The offset calibration is really a typical foreground calibration that's enabled during system startup or manual resetting. The sensor node that is remotely operated by the hub is really a peripheral device from the network that transmits data towards the hub in the recognition of the event. The information processing and memory allocation will be performed through the hub. Therefore, the sensor node can operate from hardly any power. The Two-output items of the ADC are combined and transmitted concurrently, otherwise information could be lost. Employing pulse duration modulation (PDM), the two-bit data stream is combined to create pulses with various time duration for upward conversion and downward conversion. Which means that the transmitter creates a pulse when LT signifies a conversion and U/D defines the time period of this pulse? Within the circuit created for backscattering data transmission, the pulsed signal modulates the 402 MHz RF signal received within the LC network, applying ON-OFF-Keying modulation through transistor. The LC-ADC has both magnitude resolution and time resolution. As time resolution is incorporated within the measurement, the general SNDR is degraded when compared to standalone LNA SNDR

This research article emphasises on use of algorithmic approach to activate sensors to optimize waste disposal and internet of things technology to notify the trash collectors when it is time to clean the trash cans. Here, a heuristic algorithmic approach will serve as the universal alarm and an SMS will be sent to the cleaners' registered mobile numbers as the local alert. The registered higher officials will receive an SMS alert if cleaners don't finish cleaning by the deadline. The top and bottom of a trashcan are where the ultrasonic sensors will be placed as part of the research goals. Every second, the value of the sensed ultrasonic sensor will be stored in the cloud. If the trash can is full, the lid will automatically close as a local warning. There will be a global alert sent via SMS to the authorised cleaners and higher officials. The research objectives include placing the ultrasonic at top and bottom of a dustbin. The sensed ultrasonic sensor value will store in a cloud at every second. As a local alert the lid of the garbage will be closed automatically if the dustbin is full. Global alert as a SMS will send to the authorized cleaners and higher officials. To know where the trash can is, attach a GPS sensor there. The existing intelligent dustbin is equipped with a voice controller that is used to classify the garbage but is not connected to the internet. In the existing system, an IoT platform was used with the assistance of a computer terminal, an infrared sensor, and continuous monitoring of the root plan to empty the dustbin. The lead of a dustbin is closed and opened by a vibration switch in smart homes. Whether the trash is full or not, the intelligent trash can will only locally but not worldwide transmit an alarm. The smart waste tank will communicate with smart phones by sending local dustbin values but was not stored in the cloud for every second. In this garbage narrow band IoT module was used but not internet. Accordingly the IoT enabled dustbin by placing the ultrasonic sensors, GPS sensor it is capable to know whether the dustbin is full or empty and the status will be indicated as local alert and global alert. The local alert will be the automatic lid closing of a dustbin and the global alert will be a SMS with the location of a dustbin and the status as full

    Get PDF
Objective: The electrochemical behaviour of Desloratadine (DLTD) in pharmaceutical and human urine samples at glassy carbon electrode was investigated by cyclic voltammetry (CV) and square wave voltammetry (SWV). Methods: A well defined reduction peak was observed at potential -1.55V in phosphate buffer solution (PBS) in basic medium. The reduction process was observed to be irreversible over the pH range from pH 2.0 to pH 10.0. The influence of different parameters such as the effect of pH, scan rate and concentration of the drug was studied. The probable reaction mechanism involved in the reduction of DLTD was also proposed. A SWV method with good recovery and accuracy was obtained for the determination of DLTD in pharmaceutical formulations and urine samples. Results: The peak currents were found to be linearly dependent on the concentration range of 2.55x10-5to 1.5x10-3M of DLTD. The limit of detection (LOD) and limit of quantification (LOQ) were found to be 2.75x 10-9M, 3.20x 10-7 M respectively. Conclusion: The proposed method was successfully applied for determination of DLTD in pharmaceutical and human urine samples

Encapsulates are, in general, the passive components of any photovoltaic device that provides the required shielding from the externally stimulated degradation. Here we provide comprehensive physical insight depicting a rather non-trivial active nature, in contrast to the supposedly passive, atomic layer deposition (ALD) grown Al2O3 encapsulate layer on the hybrid perovskite [(FA0.83MA0.17)0.95Cs0.05PbI2.5Br0.5] photovoltaic device having the configuration: glass/FTO/SnO2/perovskite/spiro-OMeTAD/Au/(±) Al2O3. By combining various electrical characterization techniques, our experimental observations indicate that the ALD chemistry produces considerable enhancement of the electronic conductivity of the spiro-OMeTAD hole transport medium (HTM), resulting in electronic modification of the perovskite/HTM interface. Subsequently, the modified interface provides better hole extraction and lesser ionic accumulation at the interface, resulting in a significant lowering of the burn-in decay and nearly unchanged charge transport parameters explicitly under the course of continuous operation. Unlike the unencapsulated device, the modified electronic structure in the Al2O3 coated device is essentially the principal reason for better performance stability. Data presented in this communication suggest that the ionic accumulation at the spiro-OMeTAD/perovskite interface triggers the device degradation in the uncoated devices, which is eventually followed by material degradation, which can be avoided by active encapsulation
