A survey of models for inference of gene regulatory networks

    Get PDF
In this article, I present the biological backgrounds of microarray, ChIP-chip and ChIPSeq technologies and the application of computational methods in reverse engineering of gene regulatory networks (GRNs). The most commonly used GRNs models based on Boolean networks, Bayesian networks, relevance networks, differential and difference equations are described. A novel model for integration of prior biological knowledge in the GRNs inference is presented, too. The advantages and disadvantages of the described models are compared. The GRNs validation criteria are depicted. Current trends and further directions for GRNs inference using prior knowledge are given at the end of the paper

Today in the area of medical research, the care of brain tumor patient attracts a lot of attention. Brain tumor segmentation consists of separating the different brain tumor tissues from normal tissues. In the past, many researchers in the field of medical imaging and soft computing have made significant survey in the field of brain tumor segmentation. Both semiautomatic and fully automatic methods have been proposed. Clinical acceptance of segmentation techniques has depended on the simplicity of the segmentation and the degree of user supervision. Additionally, with the development of particular software tools for automatic segmentation and brain tumor detection, which reduce the doctorsā€™ time spent on manual segmentation, more effective and efficient results are provided. In this paper BraTumIA software tool has been used for automated segmentation on MRI brain tumor images in order to perform fully segmentation by separating different brain tumor tissues from the normal ones

Application of 3ds Max for 3D Modelling and Rendering

    Get PDF
In this article, the application of 3ds Max for 3D modelling and rendering of a car model is described. The process of creating a 3D car model is explained as well as setting up the references, working with editable poly, details in car interior, using turbosmooth and symmetry modifier. The manner which materials are applied to the model are described as well as lighting the scene and\ud setting up the render. The rendering methods and techniques are described, too. Final render results from several rendering plugins, such as V-ray, Mental Ray, Iray, Scanline, Maxwell, Corona, Octane and LuxRender are presented and compared

    Jargonisms in Pavao Pavličić's Books

U hrvatskom jeziku neologizmi nastaju semantičkom i formalnom neologizacijom, a njihova pojavnost izaziva promjene u jezičnom sustavu.

Search Engine Optimization on PHP based web pages in practice

SEO is a symbiosis of arts and science. The artā€™s aspect of optimization requests dynamics, creativity and intuition in order to improve the searching rankings. The searching algorithms are too complex to make backward engineering to each aspect of them. Therefore, some scientific aspects have been included such as assumptions, notices, drawing conclusions and achieving multiplicative results as SEO functions. Ability to connect the users with the service or goods supplier is, probably the most significant and the most valuable skill placed on the Internet. In this paper we share our experience of using techniques and methods for improvements of SEO results through a practical example. Some important factors for rising of the rankings of web pages and SEO methodologies of ā€œwhite and greyā€ hat, used targeted web sites, have also been presented

Mechanical design and position control of a modular mechatronic device (MechaCell)

    Get PDF
Manufacturing techniques have advanced exponentially in recent years, providing means for production of smaller and more powerful electronics, which makes it compelling to design small and more powerful robots. Our work focuses on a mechanical design and position control of a modular mechatronic device called MechaCell. Mechacells are designed as modular semi-autonomous devices which can be used alone or part of a pack. In this paper our main focus is on the mechanical design of the Mechacell, especially the locomotion system which uses forces produced by a rotating unbalance that moves in a spherical domain for steering of the Mechacell. As part of the supervisory algorithm an overhead HD camera is used for position tracking of the Mechacell; the data is then sent to the Mechacells through a wireless connection. A proportional integral derivative controller is used as a base controller; then a friction compensation algorithm is added, based on the mathematical model of the Mechacell's locomotion system. Steering and locomotion controller of the Mechacell is validated using a complex motion profile in the developed testbed. Ā© 2015 IEEE
