    Get PDF
This work suggested algorithm for the solution of multi–term time fractional partial differential equation by the application of homotopy analysis fractional Sumudu transform method based on iterative process. The method is cumulation of Sumudu transform and homotopy analysis method. Also, the multi-term time fractional partial differential equation represented in the form of system of fractional partial differential equations as per certain conditions of fractional derivatives. The Caputo fractional order derivatives are taken for the multi–term time fractional partial differential equations. Numerical examples are discussed for the support of theory and the approximate solution compared with exact solutions at the integer value of derivatives.Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI)MathScinetScopu

A problem encapsulated - role of CT

Sclerosing encapsulating peritonitis (SEP) is a rare but serious complication of abdominal surgery, recurrent peritonitis, and continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis with a high morbidity and mortality. The etiology of this condition is largely unknown. Diagnosis is usually established at laparotomy in patients with recurrent attacks of non-strangulating, small bowel obstruction. We report a case of a patient who presented with intestinal obstruction and who showed typical CT findings of SEP which was diagnosed pre-operatively on a CT scan and confirmed at surgery. The interest of this case lies in its rarity and difficult pre-operative diagnosis. Keywords: sclerosing encapsulating peritonitis; abdominal surgery; peritoneal dialysi

Ayurveda Concept of Bhasma, Specific Role in Diseases Management and Precautionary Measurements Related to Bhasma: A Review

    Get PDF
Metals and metallic preparations have a great historical background in Ayurveda system. Metals such as; Parada (Mercury), Rajata (Silver), Tamra (Copper), Swarna (Gold), Lauha (Iron), Vanga (Tin) and Yasada (Zinc) possessing some therapeutic value. However these metals can’t be used without processing or purification, therefore they are used in incinerated form as Bhasma. These herbo-metallic preparations offer different therapeutic values and utilizing since evaluation of ayurveda. The proper preparation method, dose regimen and duration of use are some important aspects need to be considered while using Bhasma. Bhasma may produce severe adverse effects if used without considering precautionary measurements. Present article described various ayurveda perspective of Bhasma. Electric field assisted densification of 10 mol% gadolinium doped ceria (GDC 10)

    Get PDF
Ceria based materials are widely studied due to their good chemical stability as compared to perovskites, mixed ionic and electronic conductivity and catalytic properties in redox processes. These unique properties make them attractive for applications in electro-chemical devices like electrolytes, diffusion barrier layers in solid oxide cells and/or oxygen ion conducting membranes. Gadolinium Doped Ceria (GDC) is one of the promising materials of this class of materials. However, GDC shows low densification behavior if sintered in air, requiring high temperature (i.e., 1400 – 1600 °C) and long dwelling time (2 – 6 hours) to densify. As an alternative to conventional sintering, flash sintering has been shown to be an effective method of sintering for many kinds of ceramics including mixed ionic and electronic conductors. In this work, Ce0.9Gd0.1O1.95-δ (i.e. GDC10, gadolinium-doped ceria, with Gd 10 mol. %) has been used for conducting a related flash sintering study under the influence of electric field and current. Constant heating rate (voltage-to-current control) flash sintering experiments has been conducted for GDC 10 material to study the effect of electrical field on the onset behavior of flash. Results of this study hint on that Debye temperature is the lower bound temperature required for initiating the flash event. This experimental finding is supporting other similar findings for 8YSZ and 3YSZ materials. An alternative way of flash sintering has been introduced for GDC 10 material. In conventional (voltage-to-current control) flash sintering experiment, a defined electric field is applied to the sample, and after the flash event the power supply switches from the voltage control to current control. In the alternative method, the current is controlled from the beginning of the experiment and increased at a defined rate. Using a constant current rate, the densification of the material can be better controlled than in conventional flash sintering and the microstructure can be tuned. To study the effect of current rate on the densification behavior of the GDC material, current controlled flash sintering at 8 different current rates was carried out. The experimental findings suggest that the final relative density of the sample depends on the current density rather than on the current rate. Moreover, the microstructure of the current rate flash sinter samples seems to be homogenous throughout the sample. From different flash sintering experiments, a processing map for the GDC 10 material as a function of electrical field and current density is developed. The processing map is helpful in optimizing the sintering parameters by avoiding the failed zone

Performance Enhancement of Android Application Testing using Android Devices as a Service Cloud Model

    Get PDF
The recent spurt in Android devices has given rise to the development of millions of Android applications. Hence there is a need for rapid and efficient testing techniques to satiate the global app demand. Hence the paper proposes an automated testing framework by deployment testing practices on the cloud. Android devices could be tested by connecting them through wired or wireless connections. This framework can be addressed as Android Testing as a Service (ATaaS) which assists in carrying out functional testing, performance testing etc. The paper also demonstrates the use of a MAT tool to carryout automated testing, the results of which can be compared to conventional testing practices. It also gives us a gist of virtualization. Hence Cloud Testing Platform (CTP) aims at providing all the conventional testing practices at higher speed, availability and lower cost of testing these applications and the limited resources available in mobile devices.. Developers can conduct compatibility tests in various Android devices only by uploading test programs and scripts to cloud testing platforms

The Functional Nanogel: An Exalted Carrier System

    Get PDF
Nanotechnology is widely growing field nowadays. Under these vast variety of carriers are available through which the drugs can be delivered to the affected organ. Nanogels are one of the most effective carrier systems for targeting the drugs directly to the diseased tissues with their highly adaptive properties. Nanogel can be defined as nanoparticles incorporated in hydrogel. These systems are very efficient in embodying drugs of diverse nature and also in enhancing their delivery and retention to the targeting organ. Due to their targeting properties they reduce the dose of drug required in free form and also reduces the side effects produced by accumulation of drugs to any other organ. This review highlights various types of nanogels, their advantages, most commonly used preparation techniques, biomedical applications, drug targeting through nanogels, drug loading and release through the nanogels. The review has also incorporated the recent patents related to the topic. However, there is an urgent need for relevant clinical data from nanogels so as to allow translation of the nanogel concept into a viable therapeutic application for the treatment of cancer. Background: In view of recent publications of conflicting evidence on the safety and efficacy of hydroxychloroquine as prophylaxis and as a treatment for COVID-19 patients, we need to assess the effect of hydroxychloroquine in COVID-19 patients of authors own local population. Methods: In this retrospective chart review study, categorization of confirmed COVID-19 cases nasopharyngeal swab of RT-PCR was done into a group of patients who received hydroxychloroquine standard dose and another control group who did not receive hydroxychloroquine. The main comparing parameter was to see virus clearance days across both groups. Results: A total of 112 patients were included for the study, and grouped of 72 patient who received HCQS and remaining 40 patients as control. The virus clearance time in days was found to be 9.01±3.08 for HCQS group and for control group it was 8.64±2.34 days (Man Whitney U test value = 2.13, p=0.756).Conclusions: There is no significant difference found in attaining virus negative status with use of HCQS administration in this study
