Effect of the Mixed Rates of Endophyte-Free and -Infected Seed on the Dry Matter Yield and Forage Quality of Tall Fescue
This study was carried out to investigate the effect of the mixed rates of endophyte-free and infected seed on the dry matter yield and forage quality of tall fescue in Korea. In experiment, mixed ratios of endophyte-infected and -free seed were compared under the fourth cutting. Dry matter yield and forage quality of tall fescue were not influenced by mixed rates. The weed contents of botanical composition were slightly increased with high ratios of endophyte-free seed. The results demonstrated that endophyte-free tall fescue did not seem to be greatly weak under bad conditions
Reentrant Melting of Soliton Lattice Phase in Bilayer Quantum Hall System
At large parallel magnetic field , the ground state of bilayer
quantum Hall system forms uniform soliton lattice phase. The soliton lattice
will melt due to the proliferation of unbound dislocations at certain finite
temperature leading to the Kosterlitz-Thouless (KT) melting. We calculate the
KT phase boundary by numerically solving the newly developed set of Bethe
ansatz equations, which fully take into account the thermal fluctuations of
soliton walls. We predict that within certain ranges of , the
soliton lattice will melt at . Interestingly enough, as temperature
decreases, it melts at certain temperature lower than exhibiting
the reentrant behaviour of the soliton liquid phase.Comment: 11 pages, 2 figure
Antioxidant activity of extracts from Acanthopanax senticosus
Antioxidants play an important role in inhibiting and scavenging radicals, thus providing protection to humans against infectious and degenerative diseases. Literature shows that the antioxidant activity ishigh in medicinal plants. Realizing the fact that, this study was carried out to determine the antioxidant activity of water extract of Acanthopanax senticosus. Water extract (0.5 g/50 ml) of A. senticosus (ASE) were prepared and total phenol contents (TPC) and radical scavenging activity (RSA) of the extracts was determined for antioxidant activity. The TPC and RSA of ASE were 366.67 M and 67.67%, respectively. In addition, the effect of ASE on DNA damage induced by H2O2 in human lymphocytes was also evaluated by Comet assay. The ASE showed strong inhibitory effect as its concentration increased from 0.125 to 1% by 65 to 81% against DNA damage induced by 200 M of H2O2. These results suggest that water extract of commercial dried A. senticosus for tea showed significant antioxidant activity and protective effect against oxidative DNA damage

Use of zoysiagrass (Zoysia japonica L.) has been limited due to its slow recovery, low shoot density, short green period and low wear tolerance during dormancy (Lee et. al., 1999). Bermudagrass has high quality and fast recovery, but has low cold tolerance (Richardson et. al., 1978). This research compared the growth characteristics of a superior line of bermudagrass, named as Joyspy with other standard cultivars and to develop its rDNA markers
Characteristics of a Delayed System with Time-dependent Delay Time
The characteristics of a time-delayed system with time-dependent delay time
is investigated. We demonstrate the nonlinearity characteristics of the
time-delayed system are significantly changed depending on the properties of
time-dependent delay time and especially that the reconstructed phase
trajectory of the system is not collapsed into simple manifold, differently
from the delayed system with fixed delay time. We discuss the possibility of a

Boundary Flows in general Coset Theories
In this paper we study the boundary effects for off-critical integrable field
theories which have close analogs with integrable lattice models. Our models
are the coset conformal field theories
perturbed by integrable boundary and bulk operators. The boundary interactions
are encoded into the boundary reflection matrix. Using the TBA method, we
verify the flows of the conformal BCs by computing the boundary entropies.
These flows of the BCs have direct interpretations for the fusion RSOS lattice
models. For super CFTs () we show that these flows are possible only for
the Neveu-Schwarz sector and are consistent with the lattice results. The
models we considered cover a wide class of integrable models. In particular, we
show how the the impurity spin is screened by electrons for the -channel
Kondo model by taking limit. We also study the problem using an
independent method based on the boundary roaming TBA. Our numerical results are
consistent with the boundary CFTs and RSOS TBA analysis.Comment: 22 pages, 3 postscript figure file
Non-commutative field theory approach to two-dimensional vortex liquid system
We investigate the non-commutative (NC) field theory approach to the vortex
liquid system restricted to the lowest Landau level (LLL) approximation. NC
field theory effectively takes care of the phase space reduction of the LLL
physics in a -product form and introduces a new gauge invariant form of
a quartic potential of the order parameter in the Ginzburg-Landau (GL) free
energy. This new quartic interaction coupling term has a non-trivial
equivalence relation with that obtained by Br\'ezin, Nelson and Thiaville in
