Virtual simulation as a teaching on the formation and development of cognitive skills and techniques in surgery endovascular

Este ensayo presenta el papel didáctico de la simulación virtual en la formación y desarrollo de habilidades técnicas y cognitivas en la terapia endovasculares; planteando una hipótesis y buscando argumentar unas tesis con articulos que muestran el estado del arte, los antecedentes no solo del desarrollo tecnologicos de este tipo de avances si no de la especialidad en cirugia vascular como tal y una serie de herramientas para evaluar el uso, desempeño y los alcances de una serie de tecnicas que buscan fundamentar, estimular, afianzar y evaluar las destrezas no solo manuales si no cognitivas de esta novedosa forma de tratamiento que esta mostrando una serie de ventajas que por lo resultados obtenidos condiciona una prometedora evolucion que se puede tomar como el futuro del tratamiento de las patologias del sistema vascular.This paper presents the didactic role of virtual simulation in training and skills development of endovascular techniques, proposing a hypothesis and argue a thesis looking for items that show the state of the art, history not only of the technological development of such advances if no specialty in vascular surgery as just a set of tools to evaluate the use, performance and achievements of a number of techniques that seek to inform, stimulate, strengthen and evaluate not only cognitive skills manuals if this novel form of treatment that is showing a number of advantages that determines what results a promising evolution that can be taken as the future of the treatment of pathologies of the vascular system

Terapias alternativas contra el cáncer basadas en la aplicación de campos eléctricos

El cáncer es la segunda causa de muerte por enfermedad en el mundo y su incidencia sigue creciendo con el aumento de la contaminación y del envejecimiento del promedio poblacional. La Argentina no es la excepción, como lo muestran las estadísticas del Ministerio de Salud (Estadísticas Vitales de 2002 a 2006). Estudia2 es un proyecto empresarial joven y colaborativo, con menos de cinco años de andadura, que ha nacido con la intención de ser una plataforma internacional de encuentro entre personas para compartir conocimientos, una plataforma de E-learning llevada a cabo con la conjunción de un diseño propio y el empleo de una serie de herramientas TIC de acceso libre. A genomic view of food-related and probiotic Enterococcus strains

The study of enterococcal genomes has grown considerably in recent years. While special attentionis paid to comparative genomic analysis among clinical relevant isolates, in this study we performedan exhaustive comparative analysis of enterococcal genomes of food origin and/or with potential tobe used as probiotics. Beyond common genetic features, we especially aimed to identify those thatare specific to enterococcal strains isolated from a certain food-related source as well as features presentin a species-specific manner. Thus, the genome sequences of 25 Enterococcus strains, from 7different species, were examined and compared. Their phylogenetic relationship was reconstructedbased on orthologous proteins and whole genomes. Likewise, markers associated with a successfulcolonization (bacteriocin genes and genomic islands) and genome plasticity (phages and clusteredregularly interspaced short palindromic repeats) were investigated for lifestyle specific genetic features.At the same time, a search for antibiotic resistance genes was carried out, since they are of bigconcern in the food industry. Finally, it was possible to locate 1617 FIGfam families as a core proteomeuniversally present among the genera and to determine that most of the accessory genes codefor hypothetical proteins, providing reasonable hints to support their functional characterization.Fil: Bonacina, Julieta. Do Motivated Teachers Enhance Students’ Learning?

Background: Educational literature emphasizes teachers’ intrinsic motivation as a critical aspect of student performance. However, the variety of interpretations, operational definitions, measures, and conceptual frameworks used to investigate this construct makes determining the extent of the impact of teachers’ intrinsic motivation on student outcomes difficult. As a result, the purpose of this scoping review, which is framed in the Self-determination Theory, is to collect, synthesize, and map existing quantitative evidence about the effects of teachers’ intrinsic motivation on  students’ learning and other educational outcomes. Methods/Design: Following the PRISMA-ScR guidelines, the review will first focus on empirical sources and quantitative studies that address the concept of intrinsic motivation as the result of the fulfillment the psychological needs of autonomy, competence, and relatedness; second, an inventory of operational definitions, instruments, measures, and analysis techniques used to explore the relationship between teacher motivation and student learning outcomes will be developed; and, third, the quality of the evidence reported will be assessed. Discussion: Findings of this review will contribute to a better understanding of the impact of socioemotional factors on students’ learning and achievement, and will provide educational practitioners, researchers, and policymakers with useful information to make informed decisions
