Economia.O presente trabalho tem por objeto analisar a adoção dos sistemas de software livre ou software proprietário sob o escopo de um processo de sobrevivência de tecnologias e buscarse-á fazer urna análise do impacto de urna política de adoção de urn determinado sistema operacional por agentes não atomisticos, corno por exemplo, o Governo. Apresenta assim o modelo de software proprietário em um mercado dominado pelo monopólio de uma grande empresa corno a Microsoft Corporation e o desenvolvimento conjunto de um sistema operacional corn código-fonte aberto e acesso gratuito, mais especificamente ao sistema operacional GNU1Linux, com um impacto consideravelmente positivo sobre a economia mundial e sobre o futuro do desenvolvimento das tecnologias baseadas em programas de computador. A distribuição eqüitativa dos benefícios auferidos corn o progresso técnico e a difusão do model() de software livre dependem diretamente da quebra de um paradi‘,1m.i: a imagem enganosa de baixa eficiência e limitação dos recursos de acessibilidade inirrcs,LI A maioria dos softwares open source. Desta forma, pretende-se fomentar a disc ussão cm torno de um novo modelo de direitos de propriedade que visam quebrar justamente o monopólio do conhecimento estabelecido pela Microsoft Corporation. A criação dc um sistema de licenciamento alternativo e libertador (no sentido que permite aos usuários dos so//wares acesso ao seu código-fonte), o qual convencionou-se chamar de copy/eft, apresenta-se como uma alternativa economicamente viável ao modelo de licenciamento copyright

Versos e gritos: memória poética da Guerra Colonial

O artigo analisa a memória poética da experiência da Guerra Colonial identificando expressões díspares do poético: poemas de valor predominantemente documental; uma poesia da época que integra a Guerra Colonial e também a expõe pelo canto; e uma poesia de poetas da Guerra Colonial. O arquivo poético construído pela Antologia da Memoria Poética da Guerra Colonial, organizada pelos autores deste artigo demonstra que só o advérbio “Ainda” – aquele com que Manuel Alegre fecha uma viagem sem regresso – mostra como a guerra continua por dentro das palavras, por dentro dos versos, denunciando a profundidade da inscrição da guerra no presente.The article analyzes the poetic memory of the experience of Colonial Wars identifying disparate expressions of poetic: a sort of poems of documentary value; poetry of the era that integrates Colonial War and also exposes the theme on the protest song; and poetry from poets of the Colonial War. The poetic archive made by the Anthology of Poetic Memory Poetics of Colonial Wars, organized by the authors of this article, shows that only the adverb Ainda/ Still –, one with which Manuel Alegre closes a voyage without return – shows how the war of continues inside the words, inside of the verses. Políticas públicas, pobreza e desigualdade no Brasil: apontamentos a partir do enfoque analítico de Amartya Sen = Public Policies, Poverty and Unequality in Brazil: appointments from an analytical approach of Amartya Sen

O artigo aborda a relação entre políticas públicas, pobreza e desigualdade no Brasil contemporâneo, identificando os elementos que, historicamente, têm implicado negativamente sobre o processo de desenvolvimento nacional. Assim, a partir dos dados elaborados pelo IBGE, no Censo Estatístico de 2000 e na Síntese de Indicadores Sociais do Instituto Brasileiro, atualizados até 2005, procura demonstrar que a desigualdade, e não necessariamente a pobreza, é o aspecto distintivo da sociedade brasileira. Para isso utilizamos o enfoque analítico proposto Amartya Sem, em sua obra Desenvolvimento como liberdade, por considerarmos ferramenta apropriada e eficaz para a promoção e avaliação de políticas públicas destinadas a combater a situação da pobreza e da desigualdade observada na realidade nacional. Para tanto, a introdução e a primeira parte deste texto contemplam um panorama geral da pobreza no Brasil. Em seguida, apresenta-se uma avaliação da obra de Sen, buscando destacar as principais hipóteses e variáveis empregadas por este autor e a pertinência das mesmas para a realidade brasileira. A framework for efficient execution of data parallel irregular applications on heterogeneous systems

Exploiting the computing power of the diversity of resources available on heterogeneous systems is mandatory but a very challenging task. The diversity of architectures, execution models and programming tools, together with disjoint address spaces and di erent computing capabilities, raise a number of challenges that severely impact on application performance and programming productivity. This problem is further compounded in the presence of data parallel irregular applications. This paper presents a framework that addresses development and execution of data parallel irregular applications in heterogeneous systems. A uni ed task-based programming and execution model is proposed, together with inter and intra-device scheduling, which, coupled with a data management system, aim to achieve performance scalability across multiple devices, while maintaining high programming productivity. Intradevice scheduling on wide SIMD/SIMT architectures resorts to consumer-producer kernels, which, by allowing dynamic generation and rescheduling of new work units, enable balancing irregular workloads and increase resource utilization. Results show that regular and irregular applications scale well with the number of devices, while requiring minimal programming e ort. Consumer-producer kernels are able to sustain signi cant performance gains as long as the workload per basic work unit is enough to compensate overheads associated with intra-device scheduling. This not being the case, consumer kernels can still be used for the irregular application. Comparisons with an alternative framework, StarPU, which targets regular workloads, consistently demonstrate signi cant speedups. Origin of the universe: Speech by teacher graduates in physics

This presentation reports on work in the context of a Master's thesis whose research aims were to investigate and analyze the discourse of teachers, graduated in physics, on the theme "origin of the Universe", aiming at increased understanding of the processes of teacher training and their practice in the classroom regarding this subject. The data were collected through interviews with teachers who graduated from a physics course at the same public university, with the same curriculum. The research included questioning about the autonomy of teachers graduated in Physics to approach the theme "origin of the Universe" in the classroom, both in relation to the teacher's knowledge on the subject and in relation to the possible epistemological and cultural conflicts that may arise with the discussion. The semi-structured interviews were conducted through open questions that guided the dialogue in aspects of teacher training and practice. The theoretical premise of the research was based on authors who are a reference in the discussion of the nature of science, the most accepted theories about the origin of the Universe, and areas of knowledge and teacher training and practice (Bock et al., 1999; CERN, 2022; El-Hani & Bizzo, 1999; Freire, 1996; Sepulveda & El-Hani, 2004; Souza, 2007). The data analysis was performed based on the Pecheutian Discourse Analysis theory (Orlandi, 2015). The analysis of the interviewed teachers’ discourse allowed conclusions that are directly related to the research objectives. Most teachers showed a lack of approach to the theme “origin of the Universe” in their academic training, since they consider the approach to the topic in Basic Education interesting, and would need specific secondary training to plan the discussion with their students. In addition, it was possible to identify in the conversations with most teachers interviewed, the imminence of cultural and epistemological conflict in relation to the positioning of students, teachers and educational institutions, demonstrating insecurity in approaching the topic due to lack of knowledge and the need for skills that would provide conflict management. From the inferences on the interviewees' discourse, we can identify the search for impartiality of the teachers in the discussion of the theme and the care for the approach of different theories for the origin of the Universe, demonstrating the intention to allow space for different personal manifestations of the students. It is also worth mentioning the preference of most teachers for the approach of the theme focused on the epistemological discussion of science, and not just a specific scientific study on the physical aspects of the origin of the Universe.
