    Knowledge Attitude and Practice of Parents Regarding Use of Antibiotics for Upper Respiratory Tract Infection Under Five Years of Children at Jinnah Hospital Lahore

    Objectives: To check parental knowledge, attitude and practice regarding use of antibiotics for upper respiratory tract infection under 5 years of age children. Study Design: Cross-section, descriptive study. Place and Duration: the study was done on admitted patient’s parents regarding use of antibiotics for their children less than five years of age at Jinnah hospital peads ward from 15th March to 31st June 2020. Methodology: Parent’s knowledge attitude and practice checked for using antibiotics for upper respiratory tract infection in their under-five year’s children. As a research tool questionnaire is used. Only parents of children below 5 years of age and admitted patients are included in these criteria. And people which are not willing to participate are excluded or more than 5 years children parents‟ people other than parents as grandparents. In sample size of 222 parents 68 were male respondents and 154 were female participants. Results: 74 participants were higher education level 32 ere matric level .Parents 51.8% have good knowledge 45.5% poor knowledge.80% having good attitude and 88.3% with good practice.so education is related to good knowledge attitude and practice. Conclusion: The people having satisfactory knowledge as well as attitude and good practice for use of antibiotics.     Evaluation of Hardness of Ground Drinking Water in Vehari, Pakistan

    Ground water contamination has become a major concern in recent years. Hard water is considered aprimary cause of many health-relating issues due to its unsuitability for drinking, domestic, industrial and agriculturalpurposes. Current studies were performed to explore the degree of hardness in drinking water of the selected areas ofVehari city, Pakistan. For this purpose, ten water samples were collected and analyzed. This research involves presentpractices and easy approaches to evaluate the quality of drinking water. The tested samples have shown pH 7.3-7.7,temperature 27-320C and TDS value of 545-1155 mg/L. The hardness of tested water samples was found in the rangeof 110-530 mg/L by titration method. The soap solution method demonstrated the degree of hardness (dáµ’TH) in therange of 19.8-35.41. The obtained results were compared with the national and international standards worldwide. Thedrinking water of investigated areas was found hard, contaminated and unsuitable

Chemical biology uses both natural and synthetic compounds with the best therapeutic potential and verifies them by employing the best possible chemical toolsets. Screening of compounds is done by the use of phenotypic as well as the target-based screening to identify and characterize the potent hits. After the identification of target, it is characterized, and validated by extensive testing.     Histomorphological changes in gonads of Clupisoma naziri during spring and summer season

    Present study was conducted to analyse the effect of breeding and non-breeding seasons on histomorphological changes in gonads of Clupisoma naziri. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and northern Punjab, Pakistan, 43 mature fish of both sexes were gathered from the Indus River and its tributaries. In the non-breeding season (spring), both testis and ovaries went through a preparatory phase, with thick tunica albuginea and fast spermatogenesis in testes and the formation of cortical alveoli or yolk vesicles in the cortex of the cytoplasm in ovaries. The testicular lobules were loaded with spermatozoa and some spermatogenic cells during breeding season (summer), while the ovaries were filled with mature ovarian follicles. The breeding season is marked by spermatozoa leaking freely from testes and ovaries brimming with completely mature eggs. The gonadosomatic (GSI) results are consistent with the histomorphological results of gonads, as their values peak during breeding season and drop during non-breeding season. C. naziri breeds once a year during the summer season, according to the current study, and this information will aid aqua breeders in the culturing of this commercially significant catfish in Pakistan

    Structural modulation of π-conjugated linkers in D–π–A dyes based on triphenylamine dicyanovinylene framework to explore the NLO properties

    A donor–π–acceptor type series of Triphenylamine–dicyanovinylene-based chromophores (DPMN1–DPMN11) was designed theoretically by the structural tailoring of π-linkers of experimentally synthesized molecules DTTh and DTTz to exploit changes in the optical properties and their nonlinear optical materials (NLO) behaviour. Density functional theory (DFT) computations were employed to understand the electronic structures, absorption spectra, charge transfer phenomena and the influence of these structural modifications on NLO properties. Interestingly, all investigated chromophores exhibited lower band gap (2.22–2.60 eV) with broad absorption spectra in the visible region, reflecting the remarkable NLO response. Furthermore, natural bond orbital (NBO) findings revealed a strong push–pull mechanism in DPMN1–DPMN11 as donor and π-conjugates exhibited positive, while all acceptors showed negative values. Examination of electronic transitions from donor to acceptor moieties via π-conjugated linkers revealed greater linear (〈α〉 = 526.536–641.756 a.u.) and nonlinear (βtot = 51 313.8–314 412.661 a.u.) response. It was noted that the chromophores containing imidazole in the second p-linker expressed greater hyperpolarizability when compared with the ones containing pyrrole. This study reveals that by controlling the type of π-spacers, interesting metal-free NLO materials can be designed, which can be valuable for the hi-tech NLO applications

    Mixed convective heat transfer in a power-law fluid in a square enclosure: Higher order finite element solutions

    Incorporation of momentum gradients produced due to inertial motion of the lid along with the presence of temperature differences in the configuration make the physical problem more significant. The joint variation of momentum and thermal diffusion in diversified natural liquids is recognized as mixed convection. Valuable attention has been received by such a phenomenon in different areas of science and technology such as in wind current–based solar receivers, electronic instruments, control of emergency shutdown in reactors, thermal exchangers, oceanic currents, control of atmospheric pollution, and so on. So, the main focus is to contemplate hydrothermal characteristics of a power-law fluid contained in a square cavity with the movement of the upper lid and being thermally adiabatic. The other extremities are considered to be at rest, and the base wall is prescribed with uniform/non-uniform temperature distributions. The governing formulation of the problem is handled by executing a finite element approach. Hybrid meshing is performed for domain discretization, and weak variational formulation is utilized for formulation discretization. Second-degree polynomials are employed as the interpolation function, providing information about velocity and temperature distributions at boundary and intermediate nodes. The system of finalized non-linear equations is resolved by using the Paradiso software. The results for velocity and temperature distributions are attained comparatively for uniformly and non-uniformly heated profiles. The kinetic energy and average Nusselt number are also computed against flow concerning variables. From the attained graphical and tabular data, it is deduced that by increasing the Reynolds number, inertial forces dominate over buoyancy forces and the effect of lid movement is prominent on flow characteristics. It is also inferred that for the shear thickening case and for all values of the Reynolds number, the average Nusselt number shows a constant behavior
