Pattern Research Project: An Investigation of The Pattern And Printing Process - Mughal Art
2017 Pattern Research Project
Ria John - Mughal Art
The Pattern Research Project involves research and analysis of contemporary patterns found in the textiles and wallcoverings of the built interior environment. Patterns use motif, repetition, color, geometry, craft, technology, and space to communicate place, time, and concept. Through this research and analysis, built environments - their designers, occupants, construction, and context - can be better understood.
Ria John, VCU Interior Design BFA 2020, selected the Mughal Art for the 2017 Pattern Research Project. The text below is excerpted from the studentâs work:
âThe pattern is a combination of lattice and flowers. The motifs woven on this pattern are floral motifs inspired by Islamic Art. Most of the patterns woven are flowers, leaves and animals. This form of pattern evolved when the Mughals invaded India. With the invasion, there was an emergence of Islamic art and architecture influence in India which is the reason for these motifs. These patterns were woven on mainly sarees which was intended to be used by women, but these patterns were also used on carpets, curtains, wall hangings, cushion covers, sarees in the present times but in the past, during the rule of Mughal Emperor Akbar, these patterns were used in shields, turban, architecture, garments, furniture etc. This pattern has been woven on the silk cloth. Mughal inspired patterns have evolved over time from the past, although they still use the traditional Mughal inspired designs but now they also use Hindu gods in the patterns.âhttps://scholarscompass.vcu.edu/prp/1007/thumbnail.jp
BOOK REVIEW OF BARBARA DAWSON SMITHâS THE ROGUE REPORT
This paperdescribes the strengths and weaknesses of Barbara Dawson Smithâs The Rogue Report. The Rogue Report is a novel which tells about the aristocrat society in London. The writerâs purpose of this review is to explore the strengths and weaknesses by analyzing its intrinsic elements, namely theme, characters, and conflicts. The writer used a library research method and structural approach to analyze the intrinsic elements. In addition, the writer also adopted Erich Frommâs theory, The Art of Loving to examine the theme of the novel, namely Love. Every novel has its own uniqueness, though The Rogue Report has some weaknesses, it is still a good reading because it has a bunch of value of life
The english teaching and learning activities at SD Al-Irsyad Surakarta
This final project report is intended to describe the English teaching and
learning activities at SD Al-Irsyad Surakarta, and to find out the raised problems with
the solutions in the English teaching and learning activities at SD Al-Irsyad
Surakarta. It is written based on the job training that has been done from February
until April 2006 at SD Al-Irsyad Surakarta. SD Al-Irsyad Surakarta has given the
English lesson from first class until sixth class. The English teaching and learning
activities at SD Al-Irsyad Surakarta is held every Monday and Wednesday.
The methods used in collecting the data in this final project were observation,
participation, and interview. The English teaching and learning activities at SD Al-
Irsyad Surakarta consist of greeting, explaining materials, exercising, ending the
lesson. It is held in the class and LRC room, the activities at the LRC room are
watching video and games.
The raised problems at the English teaching and learning activities at SD Al-
Irsyad Surakarta are uncooperative student, unenthusiastic student, limited facilities,
and uncompleted English syllabus. Solution of problems are applying the game
method, making the interested of the English teaching and learning activity
Superscaling Predictions for Neutral Current Quasielastic Neutrino-Nucleus Scattering
The application of superscaling ideas to predict neutral-current (NC)
quasielastic (QE) neutrino cross sections is investigated. Results obtained
within the relativistic impulse approximation (RIA) using the same relativistic
mean field potential (RMF) for both initial and final nucleons -- a model that
reproduces the experimental (e,e') scaling function -- are used to illustrate
the ideas involved. While NC reactions are not so well suited for scaling
analyses, to a large extent the RIA-RMF predictions do exhibit superscaling.
Independence of the scaled response on the nuclear species is very well
fulfilled. The RIA-RMF NC superscaling function is in good agreement with the
experimental (e,e') one. The idea that electroweak processes can be described
with a universal scaling function, provided that mild restrictions on the
kinematics are assumed, is shown to be valid.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figures, published in PR
Radiative corrections of heavy scalar decays to gauge bosons in the singlet extension of the Standard Model
Assuming the existence of a new real scalar singlet coupled to the
Standard Model via a scalar quartic portal interaction, we compute the
radiative corrections to the decay rates of the heavy scalar mass eigenstate to
a couple of gauge bosons and , showing that they can give
a contribution as large as (5\%) and (7\%), respectively.
We also explicitly analyze in detail their dependence on the heavy mass
and on the scalar mixing angle , finding that, especially in the
large-mass region, these depend on the sign of .Comment: 23 pages, 7 figure
On the splitting of nucleon effective masses at high isospin density: reaction observables
We review the present status of the nucleon effective mass splitting
in asymmetric matter, with controversial predictions within both
non-relativistic relativistic approaches to the effective in medium
interactions. Based on microscopic transport simulations we suggest some rather
sensitive observables in collisions of asymmetric (unstable) ions at
intermediate () energies: i) Energy systematics of Lane Potentials; ii)
Isospin content of fast emitted nucleons; iii) Differential Collective Flows.
Similar measurements for light isobars (like ) could be also
important.Comment: 13 pages, 10 figures; NSCL/RIA Workshop on "Reaction Mechanisms for
